My review is of MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner, but it is one of the ones from their limited edition Hello Kitty range - which is not all that different from their usual lip conditioner apart from the packaging and shades on offer, but will give you an idea of how good the product in general is. When MAC brought out their limited edition Hello Kitty range a while ago, I went a bit mad and bought loads of things as I love Hello Kitty, and MAC! One of my purchases was this pretty pink tinted lip conditioner (lipbalm) in the shade Popster, which is quite a bright pink. The product comes in a cute little flat glass pot with a clear base and black lid (twists on and off) which has got a picture of Hello Kitty's face on the lid. The glass pot itself has the word MAC written on the side of it, and the bottom of the pot has a sticker noting the shade and other key product details. The whole thing comes in a little limited edition Hello Kitty box, black background with pink and white writing The lip conditioner is 15ml and is SPF15 so good for wearing in sunny conditions. There is quite a decent amount in the pot so would last you quite a while, although it was quite pricey to buy (its probably even more expensive now to buy on places like ebay as its limited edition), it cost about £10 which is expensive for a lipbalm, but hey, you're paying for the MAC brand and one of their limited editions! Like other MAC products I have experienced, this is a good quality item and made with quality ingredients and use strong and striking packaging. The lipbalm is soft and creamy, and applies really nice and softly, leaving your lips feeling lush. There is a really good pigmentation in the colour, so if you're someone who doesn't wear a lot of lipstick, you could wear this and enjoy the benefits of a lipbalm with a pop of colour. This particular shade I bought is a bright pink, so best not to slather too much on if you want a more subtle look, but the beauty of this is you can apply a thick or thin layer as you wish, and you would still get a good moisturising effect. It does last fairly long, but as with any lipbalm, you tend to need to reapply if you eat something, although it does work really well to keep your lips soft and moisturised. As its limited edition and expensive, I feel like I shouldn't waste it too much but it's a really lovely product for pampering and as a special treat. Comparing it to standard lipbalms such as Vaseline, Carmex etc, it's a bit more creamy and soft than those, so I definitely think it's a good quality product and not just something you are paying excess for when it is the same as others. However, I don't think this is something I would buy on a regular basis as I don't think I can continually justify spending £10 on a lipbalm, no matter how good it is!!
I'm a huge Mac fan and I particularly love their lip products from their glosses, lipsticks and lip conditioners. I'm never without either a lip glass or tinted lip conditoner popped into my bag for work or nights out. My latest buy is Mac Tinted Lip Conditoner in Gentle Coral, which retails at £10.50 for a small 15ml pot. It is packaged in typical Mac fashion, a small clear pot, throught which you can see the actual product, with Mac logo. It has a matt black twist off lid. This lip product also contains an SPF 15 which is great as it doubles up as a sun protective lip balm. This lip conditoner contains a whole host of goodies designed to protect and care for lips, which include: Shea Butter Almond Oil Avocado Extract Wheatgerm Oil Vitamin A Vitamin E I love that this lip balm has a nice sheer colour, it looks quite intense in the pot, but once applied to lips it just gives a lovely moisturising gentle sheen to the lips. It isn't strong enough to wear as a definite lip colour for nights out, but is perfect for day when you want to achieve a more natural look. The gentle coral colourway is perfect for summer, it adds a lovely orangey pink colour to lips and is much better than wearing a sticky gloss during the day. I love the scent and taste too, it is a sweet vanilla flavour which keeps you reaching out to apply another coat! This product is available in other colours too, while the coral is good for summer I would recommend an alternative for winter as I think this is just a little too bright for the colder weather. It's simple to apply, just screw off lid and using your finger tips, apply a little to the lip area, build up colour if necessary to get desired coverage. The only drawback I find is that I have no where to wipe my finger once I apply it while out and about. It is also a little unhygienic using fingers and I would prefer it to be in a tube. It is not too glossy or sticky, it is just the same consistency as a silky luxurious balm, but does have that lovely hint of a tint. It keeps my lips moisturised throughtout the day and keeps the flakies at bay. My lips are nice and soft since using this, and I expect that this pot will last forever, as I've hardly made a dent in it even thought I'm constantly applying it. Would I recommend this product? Yes definitely, it is a premium product, packed full of brilliant moisturising ingredients, looks great, smells great, does an amazing job and will last for ages. The only drawback is the price, but I feel that you definitely get what you pay for. Go on treat yourself!
As a lip balm addict, I have tried countless lip balms from various brands, in search of one that meets my criteria of being effective at moisturising, contains SPF, and preferably tinted. When I discovered MAC's tinted lip conditioner a few years back, I knew my search was over. This lip balm is without a doubt my favourite lip product ever! One pot lasts a long time (unless you lose it like I keep doing) and at £10.50 a pot (or less if you buy it at airports like I do), it is not too bad for your wallet! The lip balm is available in 5 shades : Petting Pink (natural light-ish pink) and Fuschia Fix (dark pink) are my two favourites, plus Gentle Coral, Plum Perfect and Soothing Beige. The texture of the lip balm is light and non-sticky, and when applied onto your lips feels very smooth and slippery. It has a light vanilla scent which smells delicious, and the taste isn't bad either! What I especially like is that the colour is sheer but still noticeable, and looks quite natural so that it isn't obvious that you are wearing makeup on your lips. Perfect for the ever-popular nude no-makeup trend! The SPF is also a definite advantage over other lip balms. This is the lip product I use everyday, every time I go out. I love it!
Mac tinted lip balm is an ideal product for when you don't want to look too made up. My personal favourite is Petting Pink which gives a hint of pink on your lips. If you want a stronger colour then you can layer it for more impact. They don't have a strong taste which I dislike in other lip balms. I apply it with a fingertip which is fine but when I have longer nails it is sometimes a bit of a pain as my nail tip picks up the balm too. Having said which it is easy to remove and doesn't stain. To be honest mine are so old they are in the old style pots! The newer flatter style I think will make application a bit easier. I love these products for holidays as I don't like to look as if I am wearing much make up on the beach. These give me a hint of colour and protect my lips at the same time. The Gentle Coral shade is a nice summer time look and looks good when I have a little bit of a tan. I am very pale but if you have a darker skin tone then I would suggest the Fuchsia or Plum shades. Although a bit on the expensive side I have found that they last for a long time. They generally can be found for £10.50. According to MAC they contain Almond Oil, Shea Butter, Avocado Extract, Wheat Germ Oil, vitamins A and E. They also have a SPF of 15 which helps protect your lips but if you are heading for the tropics you might want to have a higher SPF and leave this for Europe and the UK. Overall I would recommend them especially as a duty free treat as you are heading off on holiday and have givenn it 4 out of 5 as would be better if they could bring it under the £10 mark!
I recently got my first MAC tinted lip conditioner SPF 15 from the hello kitty collection and I must say I really love it! I haven't bothered to get any of these from the permanent collection but the hello kitty ones were just too cute and the colours were just way too pretty to pass up. I think I paid about £10.50 for mine and I got the pretty baby pink one in 'pink fish'. It comes in a cute see through plastic pot with mac written on the side and a shiny black plastic screw on lid. The scent of the tinted lip conditioner reminds me of vanilla and the consistency is very smooth and not sticky or heavy feeling at all. The colour payoff is pretty good and buildable and it gives a very pretty pink colour and sheen to the lips. The fact that it has SPF in it is definitely a bonus and it helps keep the lips smooth and moisturized and doesn't dry out unlike some other ones I've tried which tend to try in a horrible gloop. This one just stays put and soft for hours. I didn't feel the need to reapply for at least 3 hours, which I find very long lasting and excellent value for money. I've since gone back and tried some other the other permanent colours and I also like the other pink one they had. It's more of a peachy pink rather than the soft baby pink from hello kitty but it's a very nice and wearable colour, great for the daytime when you need some moisture with a hint of colour for the lips. I'll definitely buy again and am looking forward to seeing more of these limited edition releases from MAC.
I have a MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner in 'Gentle Coral' £10.28 (15ml). Other colours available include: Plum Perfect (Plum/wine sheen) Petting Pink (Pink sheen) Fuchia Fix (deep pink sheen) Soothing Beige (Beige sheen) Gentle Coral (orange/pink sheen) It Contains Almond Oil, Shea Butter, Avocado Extract, Wheat Germ Oil, and Vitamins A & E to keep lips healthy and looking their best! It also has SPF 15 to protect from the rays. It comes in a little plastic pot, which I feel is a shame because I prefer a little glass pot like for their 'paint pot' eyeshadows -anyway that's only a small detail! The texture is smoother than lipgloss, less sticky, feels a little like lip-balm. It tastes sweet and smells a little like caramel. I feel that the colour isn't vibrant, this is definitely not a lip-gloss substitute. I feel this is designed to be worn over a matt lipstick to keep the lips conditioned, if this was worn on it's own the colour payoff would be poor. Another bad point about this lip conditioner is that it tastes so damn good, that you can't help but lick your lips, therefore you have to keep re-applying it! I like the coral colour but it just doesn't last. For the price £10.28 it is my opinion that you are better off buying some Carmex Cherry lipbalm for £2.44!
