---Why I Buy These---
Every year after Christmas I always have a clear=out of my make-up.
I try not to have too many items on the go at any one time but then once a year I usually ditch most of it for new items - so that they are all fresh and not harbouring bacteria.
Trying to do this on a budget I say these on the Superdrug website with free postage - I thought I was getting a bargain on the sales - not realising that £1 was their normal price!
Make Up Academy - 'MU' - is a bargain range of cosmetics on sale at Superdrug. Apparently they have a range of over 100 lipsticks, eye colours, blushers, mascara and nail polishes, all costing £1 each and exclusive to Superdrug.
These eye shadow powders come in round tablets in either Matte or Pearl finishes.
The website lists 18 different shades - numbered 1-20 - there is no number 13 or 15 for some reason.
The shades go from greys to greens, blues, purples, and browns - but does not seem to have any bright pinks.
The compressed eye shadow powder comes in round black plastic cases with a transparent plastic lid.
Each eye shadow is 2 grams and has a shelf life of 12 months once opened.
Made in PRC - China to you and me.
I have three of these eye shadows - bright green pearl (number 5), teal pearl (number 8) and a bright purple matte (number 18).
I find the quality and size of these eye shadows amazing for the price - as I said above I thought they were on sale - not actually selling for that price.
I think mine will last forever as they hardly seem to be wearing down at all and are a great way of having lots of different colours at an inexpensive price.
Apart form being good value they actually go on well and last for many hours. obviously after a while day they have faded a little but at least they do not end up in the crease of your eyelid.
They do not come with any applicator or brush but I have a large brush from Avon which works perfectly well - the powder is picked up easily and can be applied with a few quick sweeps of the brush.
The teal pearl that I have have does not seen too pearly, but the green is very sheeny - but I do not dislike it - it just looks more like those stick eye shadows we used years ago that came in a lipstick form.
The purple, though bright in the packaging, does not make it look as if you have a black eye or have been crying, as some pinks and purples tend to do.
In conclusion I think this is a great range for anyone - cheap enough to be affordable for young and older alike and also not too much of a waste of money if you end up with a colour that you do not like or does not suit you.
You can also afford to throw the old ones away and buy a fresh supply for just a few pounds - so not keeping eye shadows for too long and allowing them to harbour bacteria.
