Advantages: Blends easily and easy to apply

Disadvantages: No staying power

I have tried to cut back on a lot of luxuries this year so in a bid to try and save money recently and being impressed with the MUA academy range, I decided to give their pressed powder a go.

MUA is Superdrug's own range and available in store and online, it offers really affordable makeup, although there isn't a huge selection of products available, there are some real bargains to be had (I think the most expensive item is £4).The powder is priced at just £1 and is available in 4 different shades; Shade 1, 2, 3 and 4, Shade 4 being the darkest, based on my skin colour, I chose Shade 2. What I also love about Superdrug is quite often that have 3 for 2 on this range so you can get an even better bargain!

The packaging is quite basic, the powder comes in a little square case with a see-through lid and MUA written on the front and it is worth noting that there is no brush of sponge supplied with the product, but you can pick these up cheaply enough.

I found application really easy, the powder blends really nicely but can sometimes look quite heavy if you apply too much. Having said that, no matter how much I applied, it did feel quite light. I did find that the powder didn't have much staying power, I have a tendency to touch my face a lot, especially at work and within a few hours, I didn't look like I have applied any powder so I needed to top up, with my regular brand, I don't have to do this.

I have combination skin, but my t-zone are quite oily skin which is more noticeable when I am at work (I blame the air con), my normal mineral powder is quite good and controlling my t-zone however I found that when I use this powder, by dinner time, my forehead is starting to shine.

Overall, this is a good powder and for £1 I cannot really moan but the fact that it didn't control my t-zone, I won't be purchasing again.

Thanks for reading.

Summary: Ok but not great for oily skin
