this is a good primer to buy, but bear in mind that the colour correcting function may not work

I bought this in belgium as I walk past a make up forever store and they were having a huge sale on the products. I paid 17 pounds but I am not sure if this is the usual price in London.

I bought the mauve corrector, designed to reduce the sallowness on skin.

      1) the primers do come with descriptions on the box that explains what the different correcting colours does. There are 7 colours in total:
0 Neutral (adds natural luminosity to the complexion)
1 Green (minimizes redness - ideal for skin with rosacea)
      2 Mauve (counteracts sallow undertones
4 Caramel (combats ashiness in medium to dark skin tones/warms golden tones)
5 Blue (adds radiance to fair skin/ reduces minor imperfections)
      6 Yellow (lightens dark complexions)
7 Pink (brightens the complexion/ counteracts sallow undertones)

So in the case of those make up counters with no sales assistants or sales assistants who are too busy, you can just decide for yourself.

      2) the texture is like lotion, it being HD I guess, a huge improvement from the heavy version that Make up forever used to release. The heavy version was too much for my skin back then, drying it out, and leaving patches of flaky skin (for a base to do that, it was terrible). The new light weight version was easily absorbed my skin, allowing the foundation to glide over easily. It also reduced the time that I have to wait for it to dry out with the old version of make up forever base. A little bit of the product goes a long way so it should last pretty long for the price paid.

      3) However, as it is lightweight (probably also in pigments) or maybe I pick the wrong colour corrector (although the sales assistant did recommend that i take mauve) , I do not feel that my sallowness has disappear. Granted that it made my skin feel good with the moisturising and hydrating qualities but there was no difference to my skin in terms of colour! Slightly disappointed with that aspect but I am happy enough with the flawless overall effect that using the primer has created.

So overall, this is a good primer to buy, but bear in mind that the colour correcting function may not work as well as it should.
