I am loving the new MUA (Make Up Academy) range. The range seems to be growing but the price is staying the same. Everything is £1 - well almost everything. I have noticed a couple of products that are a little more expensive but they're still cheap and cheerful.

I purchased a nail varnish a few weeks ago from the MUA range. As a rule I don't generally wear nail varnish because it makes my nails brittle and when I do wear nail varnish it's usually a pale pinky colour. However the range of nail varnish colours are quite impressive in this range and I chose a deep red! The bottle holds 6.2ml and only cost £1. The bottle is clear glass so that you can see the nail varnish colour and the lid is black.

I liked the consistency of this nail varnish, it is quite thin and covered my nails evenly. However I did find that I needed to apply 2 coats to get a true colour and the brush wasn't of a very good quality. The bristles didn't seem to lay flat, similar to the look of a paintbrush after you've used it and washed it a few times. Having said this I did manage to get reasonably straight lines and kept most of the varnish on my nails. This is also the only nail varnish I have bought from this range so it may be that I was just unlucky, it certainly hasn't put me off buying another one.

I wore the nail varnish for about 6 or 7 days before I removed it. I only removed it because I didn't like wearing this colour on a daily basis. I only chose red because it matched an outfit I was wearing to a wedding. I was extremely impressed that the varnish didn't chip, especially my toe nails after wearing it for a full day in high heels. I was fully expecting to have to remove it the next day. It seems to be hard wearing and holds it's colour well - not bad for the price I paid!

Overall I feel this product is worth purchasing. This is definitely a good buy, especially for party wear with the great selection of colours available. I plan to return to Superdrug and try a few of the other colours.
