Not for me this one sadly!

Before I get stuck onto writing this review I feel the need to point out that I am not reviewing the Margaret Astor Lipstick but the Margaret Astor LipColour, difference being that the lipstick is solid and this is like a lipgloss in a tube however Dooyoo have told me to plonk my review here so here I am!

I spotted this whilst in my local Poundland store the other day costing of course...a pound. This is also available online if you Google it but including postage and packaging do expect to pay a little over the two pound mark per tube for this.

I personally, until recently absolutely hated lipgloss. In fact I'm funny about anything moist/wet on my lips at all and am not really a fan of lipsticks and the likes and try not to wear them really! However I slightly changed my opinion when I recently found a box of lipglosses I forgot that I had treated to myself quite a while ago in Next as I moved flats and decided to give them a go. Not only were they easy to apply and I forgot the gloss was on my lips, but people started to ask what I wearing and saying how great I looked and with that I converted. My colours though were pretty neutral and muted shades though so I knew that next time I went out I'd get a couple more lipglosses but with the festive season fast approaching that I would get a couple of bright new shades and a couple of really glitzy and shiny ones too! I was planning on mooching around Superdrug and Boots for them (I did buy a couple in Boots later that day) but was pleased to see this glitzy one I opted for in Poundland and so grabbed me one and my mate.

      The Packaging:

The packaging of this is rather simple really. Half of it is see-through and with silver writing on it and we are told that it is Astor Prismati Volume & Shine and on the back of that we are told a bit about what the product is 'Volumising Liquid Lipcolour With Lycra Technology, Brush Applicator', that it is 5ml in size and there are contact details for the manufacturer given. The other half of the tube is black and twist off/on and has a white plastic 'wand' within it with a small white brush on the end of that. The colour (Mine is Crystal Sparks, 12), the size and being told to use it up in 12 months from opening it is all told to us on a peel off white label situated on the black section. Nice enough, simple enough packaging this is and I do like to be able to see my colour/gloss through the long cylinder pen like packaging so I know when I am running out of the product etc.

      Using It:

Using this product is easy enough to do. You can apply this to naked lips or over a lip colour or lip liner or whatever though my colour isn't a colour as such and its more a translucent colour with lots of tiny particles of glitter in pinks and purples within it. I find this really easy and smooth apply and for daytime use I have used this on its own and night time I've applied a none budge lipstick like Max Factor Infinity and applied this over that so I didn't get the colours murkily mixed up in its container and this gives a more evening look for me.

However I don't like this at all. I like the ease of application and the fact that although mine has glitter in it the particles are smooth within it and that really its a very subtle looking glitter so suitable for women of any age to use really. Your not gonna ever end up with lips caked in thick glitter from this product no matter how much you try to either!

For me though it is really greasy feeling. It doesn't make my lips feel heavy just slippery though I must say that it does make my lips look full and pouty but me, I just can't stand the feeling of it. Yes it adds a gloss and I do think it volumises and plumps out my lips slightly however along with the feeling it gives my lips and that it doesn't stay put long enough for my liking either and transfers off on to everything, like I say I'm just not thrilled with it. If you do nothing with your lips but pout then you can get an hour and a bits worth of wear time from this, if you smoke, drink, eat or are lucky enough to get a kiss (well it is Christmas!) it just comes off all to easy!

Not for me this one really. The quality of the product all round is nice enough and if you like a heavily moisturising feeling product on your lips then you won't go wrong with this and like I stated earlier I do appreciate the pout it gives to me in a none trout looking way but it isn't a product I would go out of my way to purchase again sadly and not one of my favourites that I own at the moment either!
