“ Brand: Marks & Spencer / Type: Eyeliners / Suitable for: Eye „
One of my staple items of my make up bag is black eyeliner, I can't live without it. The problem is I wear it almost every day, so making my make up that little bit different for a night out, usually just involves more eyeliner and a shimmery eyeshadow.
Make up is probably the thing I most buy on impulse, using the 'oh, it's only something small' excuse. I have to say, however this shimmery liquid eyeliner I bought from M&S recently has proved to be an impulse buy that turned out good.
The eyeliner is Marks and Spencer's standard range of make up (as opposed to the per una or Autograph collections). It is packaged in a small cone shaped bottle with screw to and brush fixed in to cap, much like a long skinny nail polish. It simply says liquid eyeliner on the front on white. A simple yet quite stylish item for the make up bag.
The bottom of the bottle has the colour name, I went for diamante. Yes, it's black eyeliner, but with a sparkle. It looked shimmery in the bottle but would it show up on when applied?
The thin brush and long thin handle makes the product very easy to apply. The shimmer does show up really well, though I found that it it slightly lighter than normal black black eyeliners and I either needed to go over it twice, or as I've found works very well, to apply a little black or grey kohl underneath.
I wore this eyeliner for around 7 hours on a night out and it didn't budge, nor did the sparkly- ness fade. I was very impressed. It's not a product I would use every day but to glam up your look for a night out with out overdoing it, this product is a must. Certainly one that will always be in my make up collection form now on.
The best thing of all about this is the price. For an eyeliner with this unusual effect and quality I would pay up to £8 or £10. This cost me just £3, you couldn't even get a Rimmel one for that. The shelf life on the product is 6 months, but eye products should really be changed every 6 months or so anyway the beauty pages tell us. The product also has the 'not tested on animals' sign on it too which is always something I look for.
Overall, a brilliant piece of make up kit. Well done M&S!
