“ Brand: Marks & Spencer / balms / Type: Lip Butter / Suitable for: Lip / What it does: Enricheses „
I had just returned from a weekend away and had incredibly dry lips from a combination of being outdoors loads and changing weather.I was in town doing my food shopping and stumbled across the Marks and Spencer beauty range.I have to say it's not somewhere I would have considered shopping for beauty products but as my lips were so dry I thought I would give it a go and a 7g tub was only £2 so I thought why not!
There are various fragrances/flavours in the M&S lip butter range but I was instantly drawn to the Shea Nut flavour as I love Shea butter and as I used to make my own beauty products I am well aware of Shea butters moisturising properties. So I popped it in my basket.
The packaging is very unassuming, it's a standard clear lip butter tub with M&S stickers on the front and back. The front has images of M&S branding and some nuts. It's very plain and to be honest doesn't portray the product as being any good, it looks cheap. The back label has the best selling point for a lip balm,an ingredients list and this one looks good. The second most used ingredient is Shea butter and this shows in the quality of the product.
The butter itself is beige/cream coloured and smells divine. It's a perfect blend of sweetness and nuttiness.I would say those that don't like sweet smelling things may find this a little overpowering but I have an incredible sweet tooth so is fine by me.
The quality of this product far surpassed my expectations. It's rich and thick and goes on smoothly without dragging delicate skin.I've been using this product for a few months now and always carry it with me.I don't tend to wear much make up and this gives my lips a nice subtle sheen without being too greasy. It also doesn't have a taste meaning you don't keep licking it off and making your lips worse or getting that chemical taste when you do it by accident.
This is the best £2 I have ever spent on a cosmetic product.I have been completely converted and wouldn't use anything else on my lips. It's good value for money, superb quality and lasts for ages even with regular use. It's pursuaded me to try out more in the M&S beauty range.
Marks & Spencer Ingredients Shea nut Lip Butter
I was shopping with my auntie a few weeks ago when she offered me some lip butter to try. As happens every winter, my lips were quite chapped and when I tried some of this my lips felt much better; soft and moisturised and the smell was nice too.
Marks and Spencer isn't somewhere I would usually expect to buy something from, and the only time I usually end up going in there is when mum drags me there. I expected good quality from there, but the reason I never go in is because everytime I have been in there it just seemed like it was full of old women, and the clothes styles aren't really aimed at my age group.
This weekend I was shopping with my mum and once again she dragged me in there. We wanted to go into the cafe but there were no seats left, but as we walked through I noticed the beauty shelves. I walked over to have a look and came across some of this, Ingredients shea nut lip butter. As I had already tried and liked it I decided to buy some.
I was suprised to see that it was only £2, for something of such good quality I expected it to cost a bit more than that. I noticed a similar one in The Body Shop once for about £4 and this one is much nicer so I just expected it to cost about the same price. However if it did cost anymore than that I'm not sure I would have bought it as I only had a bit of spare change left on me and I didn't want to break a note.
I paid for this and straight away opened it to try some. Just as I remembered, the smell was lovely and it made my lips feel beautifully nourished. The smell is gorgoeus, just like shea nuts and I really like it.
The lip butter itself isn't too creamy and in the tub it is quite hard, like a tougher, thick butter. The one I tried in The Body Shop was a bit softer but I much prefer the texture of this one.
To apply it to your lips all you have to do is rub your finger lightly onto it and then rub it onto your lips. It absorbs wonderfully and leaves your lips looking smooth and feeling soft, too..
The tub this comes in is a flat round tub made of clear, light plastic. I have dropped it a few times onto my carpet already since buying it, but it hasn't broken so it must be quite good quality. There is a picture of brown nuts on the tub which you can see from the image at the top. I quite like the design as it is natural looking and the colours are quite simple and natural. It is the perfect size for my bag, as well.
When you open the tub, all you have to do is twist the lid off, you can smell the gorgeous shea nut fragrance straight away if you put it near your nose. The smell is quite sweet but I really like it.
I would definitely recommend this to all women and girls as it protects my lips and keeps them feeling soft and nourished all day. The smell is lovely and I think this tub will last me ages. For only £2 this is a real bargain and if you do get chapped or dry lips then this is a must have.
