Mascara is something I buy on a regular basis. You might think that this is weird but I wear mascara on a daily basis and by that I mean weekends too. I am very fair and my eye lashes are blond too which makes me look really plain hence using mascara to brighten up my eyes. I would say that I buy mascara every other month and I always like to have more than one. This might sound really strange but I do not like using mascara's when it just been brought I found that they are much better when they have been used for a while as they are much thicker and do better job - at least for me. Anyway so I always have older mascara and new mascara so I can apply them both to get maximum effect.
I am quite fussed when it comes to mascara, I have few favourite brands that I buy and one of them is Max Factor. This is second time I have this particular mascara so I thought I write a brief review on it.
I have purchased this mascara about 4 weeks ago when browsing in boots. I have noticed that it was on offer with £3 off original price of £7.99 which is good price for this well-known brand anyway. I only paid £4.99 which is absolute bargain considering average price for good mascara (high street brand one) nowadays is probably around £10. I therefore immediately grabbed one.
I think this mascara has a very simple packaging and it has changed from the picture above. It is black with metallic red writing on it stating the name of the mascara. I am not overly bothered about packaging as long as the product is great, at the end of the day it is just mascara. Quantity of this mascara is 9ml.
This particular range has 3 varieties: curved brushed, straight brush or waterproof. I have chosen curved brush mascara simply because I prefer curved brush over straight one.
Brush is quite thick with loads of bristles which I love and it is attached to the wand as all mascara's are. Brush has shorter bristles that then get longer and longer towards the end of it, it does catch even my shortest lashes.
Using this mascara is straight forward, unscrew, open and apply. Again with all mascara's a prefer it now that it has been used for a while as the consistency of it is bit thicker. I must say it is going strong after 4 weeks of use and it is not dried out. This mascara is meant to give you up to 300% more volume. Well I must say this mascara is very very good but I do not think it does give me 300% more volume even after applying 5 layers. Yes 5 layers :) I like my eye lashes to stand out.
I wear mascara all day long from about 6am until I come to remove it in the evening. This mascara is smudge proof (as per statement on the packaging) which I believe is true; it doesn't smudge during the day unless you accidently rub your eyes just like I did the other day which left me with bit of panda eye. Removing of this mascara is easy, I haven't got a waterproof one so can be easily removed, I use make up remover most of the time but I have removed it with water before which was easy too.
This mascara can be purchased in many places e.g Boots, on-line even my local big Sainsbury's store sells it. Overall I think is an excellent product and very reasonably priced even better if you get it on promotion. I would definitely buy it again.
Summary: Excellent mascara for everyday use
