Advantages: smudgeproof
Disadvantages: can be expensive, straight brush
I have been using Max Factor make-up range for more years than I care to remember and have always found their products to be extremely good. So last week I decided that it was time to renew the contents of my make up bag and in particular my mascara, as max factor do a range of mascaras that promise the most wonderful things e.g waterproof, extra long lashes etc, I was kind of spoilt for choice, after much thought and a lot to do with the bored looking lady behing the counter at Boots, I decided on the 2000 calorie mascara bought two shades, brown and black/brown This mascara comes in three shades, brown, black/brown and black, the packaging is very plain but as I was more interested in the contents this was a minor problem, my main concern was that it was smudgeproof and would not leave me looking like a panda, although this mascara does not claim to be waterproof I have not experienced any problems as yet, and as I like soppy movies that make me cry a lot this is an added bonus it also rains a lot here in the north of ireland! The brush itself is just a normal straight brush, this I think was the only downside to this product I prefer a curved brush as I find it easier to use, the product does live up to its claims, from day one I have not had clogged up eyelashes and my eyelashes do appear to be thicker and longer, the mascara itself also seems to be clog free which is an added bonus as max factor mascaras I have used in the past seem prone to clogging after a few weeks use. This is a simple uncomplicated product, that does not have any great miracle claims, at around £7 it is not the cheapest, but I find that cheap mascaras are prone to clogging, it is also very easy to remove, the range of colours although basic are Ok for us oldies that are not looking for electric blue eyelashes. I find that I prefer the black/brown to the black it is not as harsh looking.
