So much potential but a let down

Max Factor is generally one of my preferred make up brands. I have a few staple items and whenever I see an offer I will pick up a couple of things to try out.

One of my latest extra buys was the Flipstick Colour Effect Lipstick in Bloomy Pink - one side a dark 'sexy' pink, the other a cute baby pink. Bought from Boots on offer but the retail price is £8.49

      The product also comes in:
      ~Folky Pink
      ~Boreal Mauve
      ~Salsa Red
      ~Gipsy Red
      ~Swingy Brown

Max Factor describes the product as:
Flipstick Colour Effect Duo Lipstick - Create your own lip coulour. Flip it, mix it for tantalising lips.
*Expertly matched to create complementary colours.
*One side creamy and the other side shimmery.
*Rich formula is easy to blend for a sultry finish.

      ~The Good~
The 2 colours are really nice - the darker gives a really rich colour and is as they describe 'creamy' and does feel nice on your lips. The lighter colour has a sparkle and again looks great. The idea behind having the 2 shades is that you can blend them together getting an extra 'look' - the colours do work really well togther, giving a mid pink with a shimmery finish. I found that the dark colour lasted very well but the lighter needed a little more topping up throughout the day.

      ~The Bad~
I first tried the darker colour, putting it on the creamy texture felt great and I had high hopes for this lipstick. These hopes were short lived as within 2 hours my lips felt so so so dry. The lighter was slightly better but I think that was down to the fact I topped up a bit more so it felt softer on the lips when first put on.

      ~The Ugly~
After a couple of weeks in my make up bag the case was awful. The joining middle part of the lipstick was a dark pink but was scratched and fading away - not a good look when applying your lippy.

      ~Conclusion~
Bitterly disappointed with a product that promised so much - 3 gorgeous lip colours BUT at the cost of dry lips. I think I'd rather leave this one alone.
