Advantages: Colour is natural and soft

Disadvantages: Only lasts a few hours then wears off in patches

I wear makeup every day - even when I am not going anywhere I like to at least put foundation and blusher on. Most don't match my skin type - I have quite light skin and don't really tan so always end up with ivory which still doesn't match completely. So I gave up on matching colour to my face and just went for Ivory in this Maxfactor Facefinity compact and extended it down my neck line. I have to say I look like I have a tiny bit of colour now it's great!

Like I said I use Ivory colour but there are 9 shades that this comes in. It's about a tenner in Boots (collect your Advantage points!) which I don't think is too bad for a compact. Like I said I like this stuff - it is a good texture and quite light on your skin. Having said that because I use this every day one of these only lasts me about 3-4 weeks. I do find myself having to reapply this during the day as well so I don't think it provides the best coverage - and if I happen to have long sleeves on and rest my chin on my sleeve I do get makeup all over it - something I am sure you don't get with a liquid foundation. I am very on top of things when it comes to makeup (eyeshadows, etc) but when it comes to foundations I am a little lazy. I will find something with is OK (i.e. good enough) and leave it at that. That's what I think this is - good enough but not amazing.

This foundation comes in a gold compact - it has a mirror inside and a sponge for applying the pressed powder with. I think it's a fairly good design - its simple, and it looks good and I haven't managed to smash the pressed powder into a million pieces yet which is somewhat of a miracle.

One other thing I like about this is the fact that it has an SPF of 15 - which means when I am on holiday and don't want to grease my face up with suncream I can put this on and be protected from the sun. And of course you're protected from the sun all the time with this even in the UK (when there's some sun that is!).

All in all I like this foundation but its not long lasting I'm afraid Maxfactor - it looks natural and if you get the right shade and make sure you extend it through your neckline it will look like you're not even wearing anything - which is the whole point of a good foundation. But I don't think the powder stays on your face all day - if its an especially windy day and cold I find it wears off in a few hours in patches. In fact I'm looking at myself now sat at home, I've had this on for 5 hours and I can see patches where it's worn off. So I definitely wouldn't give this 5 stars. It looks natural and everything but only lasts a few hours. I would imagine there's better out there.

Summary: An OK foundation if you are OK to reapply it every 4 hours or so
