Advantages: Great for day or night, creates lots of volume with no clumps
Disadvantages: Big brush may be tricky to use at first if not used to it
When I needed a new mascara a couple of months ago I was looking in Boots to see what was on offer. do have a couple favorites from different brands that I occasionally go back and buy again but I am always keen to try new ones too. I noticed Max Factor had an offer on where if I spent £15 on products then I would receive a free gift which contained lots of mini make-up products. I checked out the free gift and saw that I would like every thing in it and so it was worth spending the £15 for the free gift.
There was several mascaras to choose from by Max Factor but as I had recently been using 'false lash effect' mascaras from Maybelline, I was drawn to the same kind of mascara again but by Max Factor. They had their false lash effect mascara, but then also another 'false lash effect fusion' mascara. I wasn't sure what the difference would be except one had the word 'fusion' added to it. After a quick bit of research I found out the fusion one was the latest addition to their mascara range and so opted for that one.
It is priced at £11.99 which is a little more than I would usually pay for a mascara but as it counted towards the free gift which contained things that I would actually use I didn't mind so much.
Max Factor state that their "False Lash Effect Fusion combines Max Factor's biggest ever volumising brush with its latest lengthening formula to create thicker and longer lashes. For those girls who want an extreme lash look, they've come to the right place."
When I first applied this I noticed how big the brush actually was and I wasn't used to applying mascara with such a big applicator brush. I wasn't too sure on the results at first and it didn't really leave me with a 'false lash effect'. However, I have since gotten used to using a thick brush and have been able to apply more on my eyelashes as a result and so this mascara has really grown on me! I think at first I was just a bit scared to apply it in case I did too much and ended up with clumped looking eyelashes. However, the more of this I apply the thicker my eyelashes look which is great for a night out. Even when I apply a lot of this it doesn't clump together.
I also wear this for during the day and just one or two strokes for each eye is enough for a more subtle look. I always used to own at least two different mascaras, one for day wear and one for a night out. However, this can be used for both just by adjusting how much you apply on the eyelashes. I don't think this can be done with a lot of other mascaras I have owned in the past as I found the more I applied the more clumped and messy they would look.
Overall I love this mascara and it creates a lot of volume as well as lengthening my eyelashes slightly. I would buy this if you want volume over length. When I have applied this on a morning my eyelashes still look just as good towards the evening and so there is no need to keep re applying!
Summary: Don't be afraid to keep applying the coats!
