My usual mascara which I use is the Miss Sporty Fabulous Lash Curved Mascara which I usually buy from Boots for a small price of £2.93. I find considering it's so cheap , it's an excellent little mascara as it gives me the 'big eye look' I love.

However , I have always wanted to try fake eyelashes to get an even bigger 'big eye look' (as I call it) , although each time I've bought some and have tried to apply them , I just can't do it and so I become a bit impatient , and opt for not bothering at all. However , when I heard about a new mascara that would give you a 'fake eyelash look' , I just HAD to get it!

The mascara that promised this look is by Max Factor. I had never tried any of their products before , as I wasn't really that into make up before and so would only choose 'cheap' ones , as because I wasn't that much of a fan of make up I didn't think it was worth me buying 'expensive' products. However , over the last few months I have changed my views on make up and now opt for products which will make me look better rather than ones that are easier on my pocket. This mascara cost me £10.76 from Boots.

First impressions of this mascara is that it indeed looks quite glamourous and luxurious ; the type of mascara you'd expect someone like Cheryl Cole to be a user of. The product is black with a bright shiny strip around the top with the Max Factor logo on it. The tube is very chunky to look at although isn't particulary a large size ; don't worry it will fit in your handbag.

I 'open' the mascara ; simply twisting the top half and tada the wand pops out. The wand is quite long with a sharp and spiky looking brush. At first , I though 'argh no way can I put that near my eye!' , but it cerainly isn't as spiky as it looks. The brush has a lot of bristles on it and they are very closy together. The brush is fully covered in mascara , and so taking hold of the wand in my right hand , I begin to apply. The mascara is very thick and has the usual mascara smell (which I don't know how to describe!)

The mascara was quite easy to apply as the 'chunky-ness' of it makes it comfortable as it is quite big and easy to grip , yet not big enough to not let you have any acess to the eye!

Because , the mascara was quite expensive for me , compared to my usual spending habits , I had expected to have a 'massive eye look' after applying it about five times. But I had to keep applying and applying to get a big eye look , and even then it wasn't as 'good looking' as my usual big eye look. I wasn't that impressed with this product and it certainly didn't give me the look I was after.

The mascara did make it look as though I had a lot of eyelashes and it did seperate them quite well. The product certainly didn't make my lashes 'clump together' , although it did take a long time to take off. The first night I wore it , I was at my local pub ; all I was doing , was just sitting there talking ; I didn't even touch my eyes , but when I looked in the mirror after an hour or so , the mascara had smudged everywhere and I had panda eyes!(I found out after though that there is a waterproof version and a non-waterproof version and so I obviously have the non-waterproof one!) I don't think I'll buy this mascara again as it made my eyes itch a little ; I'll definately stick to my Miss Sporty one! To think it had cost me £10 , I would have expected to have done a good job , but my cheaper mascara does so much better!
