Not quite perfect.....or false lashes for that matter! (Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara)

After all the rant and rave of this product from my friends and here on dooyoo, I thought I just have to try it! I am often picking up new mascaras here and there as like most girls I am always looking for that something better, that bit more extra special, the one we dare to say is PERFECT!

The product and manufactuer:
This product is made by Max Factor and is there False Lash effect mascara, which claims to give you full lashes yet with a natural look. Each bottle / tube contains 13.1ml.

The packaging and bottle:
Well, before I start this is the biggest and roundest looking mascara tube I have ever seen. It is really chubby towards the middle of the bottle, but this is probably so that it can fit in the huge brush!
The bottle itself is black with a gold rim on it just below the lid (this may be a different colour if you have purchased waterproof, etc!) It reads FALSE LASHE EFFECT MASCARA in large gold capitals.
The lid is round and gets thinner as you get to the top of the lid, I like the chunkiness of this as it is easier to hold in the hand then the small and flimsy ones, but if you have very small hands this may be harder! At the very end of the lid it is on a diagonal slant which adds detalining and makes it look more appealing and attractive!

The brush:
Like all women I spend quite a while humming and harring over a new mascara as I am quite indecisive and what thing that nearly almost makes a purchase it the design of the brush.
The brush is very large and by this I mean in width. On the brush there are loads of tiny brush heads which are flexible and rubber which makes it easy to apply.
The thing that I like about the brush is that sometimes when you buy a brand new mascara and is pratically full the brush brings up absoloutley loads and leaves your eyelashes looking clumpy and thick, but this doesn't do this! It brings up just the right amount you need and just covers all the bristles.
The brush is quite large, therefore this is sometimes hard to apply, especially as I 'wiggle' in the mascara to get ultimate lash definition, but it is hard to do with this at first. However after a few days with it you do get used to it and kind of learn to adapt!

Price:
This mascara retails at around £10.95, however I managed to pick up a brand new one on ebay for just £4.69 including postage. So as long as you look around I am sure that you can pick up a deal so I would reccomend checking Amazon and Ebay, but check postage costs as sometimes they rip you off with these.

Avaliability:
These are avaliable in most good cosmetic retailers such as Boots and Superdrug, however as I have said they are purchasable off Ebay and Amazon and I think you'd get a better deal here, unless you are saving up for something on your Boots Advantage Card points.

My experience:
I really like this mascara.
It is relativley easy to use after the first couple of days, however at the beggining it was hard because of the large brush.
It gives your lashes even coverage and as the brush is wide it covers them all in near enough one coat.
If you are looking for long lashes that look great, then whereas before I may have been using 2-3 coats with this it does it in near enough one! Although I wouldn't go quite as far as saying it does the job of 'false lashes', it is one of the best I have used.
I think I was a little let down by this mascara as I don't think it has lived up to the hype, but maybe I was expecting just a little too much.
I will give it that it gives you way more volume and lots of lash impact. When looking at my lashes the mascara has extended the lash length a lot, but I think it is the seperation that it needs to look at to give it that 'full lash' look!

Overall I would reccomend this mascara, however like most it is not without its downsides. So I guess I am still on a look out for that perfect mascara, although I very highly doubt that any mascara will give you false looking lashes!

Just 4 out of 5 stars for not quite being perfect!
