Disadvantages: Too thick, dry, terrible applicator! Messy.

I can be a real tart when it comes to mascaras - not in the sense that I cake it on, rather that I try pretty much every one that comes onto the market.

I'm generally a fan of Max Factor, and still buy 2000 calorie every few years just to remind myself that the oldie remains very goldie! I was hoping that this product would live up to its ancestors ease of use and full-lash effect, but I was wrong.

Firstly, its one of the most globby formulations I have ever come across, and the first time I used it for a night out, I had to completely clean off and reapply my eye make-up (+ highlighter, foundation etc etc the whole works) because the applicator left lumps on my lash which spread to my eyelids and cheeks in moments, before I could get to to them with an eyelash comb. As someone who likes to get ready just as much as actually going out, this waste of time and effort really did annoy me.

Secondly, I am not satisfied that (probably due to the thickness) it seemed to dry up beyond usability within about two weeks, which for a tenner is a bit rude.

My advice would be to steer clear - false lashes are probably EASIER than this to apply, and definitely give a lovely effect - in this day and age you shouldn't need to carry a lash comb about all day, or have to throw something after a fortnight.

The models on the ads are styled with false lashes anyway, Max Factor state it in the small print. Get some cheap falsies and use them together with 2000 calorie for the best effect, and leave this on the shelf.

Summary: Nowhere near as good as the real thing!
