Advantages: Sheer and pretty colours in the range.

Disadvantages: Not long lasting at all, not huge choice of colours in the range.

I own an awful lot of Max Factor make up. I just love it! To me it's definitely one of the best most hard working brands at a reasonable price. After my first use of Lipfinity I've never looked back. I own loads of them in a variety of colours and as far as lipsticks go Max Factor, Lipfinity are the ones I use the most. Though I'm the first to admit they can dry lips out due to the 'ink' effect and are not good at covering imperfections such as dry skin which I have been suffering with in this weather. So when I saw this Max Factor Lipstick I thought it had to be given a go! This is a conventional lipstick which I'm not fond of. I do own a variety of other lipsticks and glosses and try hard to get on with them but always return to my trusted Lipfinity. However this promises 'long lasting colour' so I thought I should give it a go!

Packaging....

Navy blue tube with gold MF lettering on the front and a gold rim around it's middle where it pulls into two and you twist the bottom to get the colour out. The lipstick inside is about an inch long and slanted. ON the bottom tells me the colour, in my case Paprika Flame (700) and the label is colour coded and I'm told it's indeed by Max Factor (Procter & Gamble).

Results....

Firstly I'm impressed that the colour in the tube actually does correspond to the colour coded label on the bottom which means next time I want to make a purchase I wouldn't feel the need to test it in the shop if I was pushed for time and sometimes I am!

Now I tested a few colours out on my hand before purchasing one as it was an off the cuff decision to buy one so I had no colour in mind. The colours are all very sheer in this range. They don't go on thick but do give a lovely even coverage. The colours have a shimmer within them which are made up with really small flakes of glitter. These particles of glitter do not 'flake' off they simply wear off as the lipstick does as the glitter is not heavy or prominent it just gives a very nice shimmer but nothing too 'caked'.

Application is easy. It goes on even and very smooth. It feels very moisturising but not overly so as there isn't loads of product on the lips and it doesn't feel one bit greasy.

Now as for long lasting is it?

Well not really. I always apply, blot, apply and blot again and I'm done. This method of application gives me about one and half hours of wear and then its completely gone. It comes clean off and doesn't wear off patchy and no 'bits' collect at the corners of my mouth or anything (I mention this cos it happens to me alot!). A plus point is it doesn't come off on food and all over cups but on the downside does need regularly applying which as it comes off cleanly really isn't a huge problem you just need to remember to carry a mirror around with you!

Overall....

It's not the most long lasting of lipsticks to be honest but I do like it. It doesn't feel heavy, greasy or gunky and is nicely moisturising. It comes off cleanly with tissue or make up remover when you want to take it off. I've found with prolonged usage the overall condition of my lips is a lot better i.e smoother and more supple. I'm very impressed and shall buy it again and again!

If you want a long lasting lipstick this really isn't for you though and at about £9.50 a tube isn't cheap but because it's sheer you don't use loads!

Summary: I like it but not 100% sure it's worth the price tag.
