Item: Max Factor Lasting Performance Foundation Price: £9.99 Colour: 108 Honey Beige Size: 35ml Bought in: Boots (I now always buy these only when they have a 3 for 2 offer on to keep the overall price down) Packaging and design: This foundation comes in a slim plastic bottle. I would say it is oval at the ends and has smooth sides. If that makes no sense you can see the bottle in the photo above haha. I love that the bottle is this shape as it means that it fits well in my makeup bag. That's not the reason I keep buying it but it is a major bonus. The bottle can sit on its lid too so when it is getting near the end I can sit it up before use to get the foundation down the bottle. The bottle is actually clear plastic but until you get right to the end of the bottle you can't tell as the foundation sits thickly on the sides. You can see the colour of the foundation through the plastic so you can get a good idea of the colours when looking at the range in the shop. The colours on the bottle are black with a gold star in the back ground. This has been the design for the past few years and is quite distinctive look for Max factor. Across the bottle front it says "Max Factor. Lasting Performance. Long lasting makeup. 108 Honey beige." This is written in nice clear text and you can see exactly what the product is from these details. The back of the bottle simply states "Resists touching off on to your clothes" and then lists the ingredients. This is true and I don't get the make up over clothes round my neck and face. The lid is made of black plastic and closes tightly and flush to the edges of the bottle (I hate it when a shaped lid turns too far and sticks out from the packaging! Haha). When you remove the lid there is a thin pointed bottle top and as the bottle is plastic it can be pressed and this allows you to press out the exact amount you need without too much coming out. When I get to the end of the bottle I simply cut the top off and keep it in a Tupperware box so it doesn't dry out. I keep this in the bathroom and keep it for days when I am doing my make up in the house and not having to carry a bottle with me. You can get around an extra weeks' worth of makeup out doing this. It is a little bit messy but if this was a glass bottle then anything left inside would be wasted so at least I can literally use the full bottle. Thickness, coverage, application and skin tone match: This foundation is quite thick, not as thick as the likes of a concealer but it is thicker than some other foundations, which I like as it means that it goes on smooth and gives a nice level of cover without being "caked". As it is quite thick, this is why it is hard to get the last drops out of the bottle but I would rather it stayed the same consistency and I had to fiddle with the bottle rather than it being thinner and not looking as good on my face. When applying this I dab a small spot on my forehead, chin and each check then rub in to my face, evenly and all over. It doesn't sting my eyes or cause any clogged up patches on the skin. I have been fortunate to find a colour that really matches my skin and never get that horrid "neck-tide line" that you can get if foundation is too dark or light. I have used this for a number of years and when I holiday and get a tan on my face I simply use a slightly darker powder over it to match me up, I don't need to change my foundation. Does it stay on all day? Yes. If I apply this in the morning I still have a decent layer of foundation on after a full days wear. I often top up my powder or blusher as I do get a slight grease over the top of my nose and forehead but that's not because my foundation is greasy. I have tested this and my face gets the same even on a day when I have no makeup on (which is rare and is usually only if I have no reason to leave the house so I give my face a rest haha) How long does a bottle last? I can get at least a month's use out of this size of bottle. I use it every day and on the weekend or a rare midweek night out will be likely to apply it fresh for those evenings so will be using it twice on those days. Would I recommend it? Yes, but that's a hard one as foundation is really personal and if you don't find a colour in the range that suits you it is useless, regardless of other plus points. I have told my friends how well it has suited me but always suggest they either have a try of mine to see if they like the coverage and consistence then they just need to colour match or that they get someone in Boots to do a test for them on their faces. I would say that value for money it is excellent, this works out at around £2.50 a week or less as it sometimes last me a bit longer and even cheaper if you get it on a 3 for 2 deal. For bottle design I love that it is slim line and fits in my makeup bag without creating a bulge or fearing the lid will pop off. I really like this foundation and will continue to buy it so it gets 5 stars from me.
~*~ Max Factor Lasting Performance Foundation ~*~ I first became aware of this new at the time foundation when Boots were doing an offer , they were giving away red make-up bags filled with samples of Max Factor products and in there was a 15 ml sized tube of this Lasting Performance foundation in the shade Natural Beige . I was lucky enough to receive 2 of the bags at the time . Since trying the foundation I have now purchased the full sized product at a cost of £10 from Boots. ~*~ The Foundation ~*~ The foundation comes in a flat shaped tube and contains 35 ml . The lid is removable and there is a nice pointy spout for the foundation to come out of . The tube is easy to squeeze and its easy to control the amount coming out so not to waste any . The foundation is guaranteed to give you 8 hours of stay put perfection, you complexion will look and feel fresher for longer. Specially designed, for light weight silicones and a hard wearing touch proof system stand up to any amount of running or touching and, unlike other oil based formulas, it doesn't clog up your pores or irritate sensitive skin. The foundation is available in 6 shades , Natural Beige, Honey Beige, Pastelle, Fair, Natural Bronze and Soft Beige. ~*~ In Use ~*~ When I first tried this foundation I didn't like it. I was initially using it with a sponge and felt it wasn't spreading as well as it could of . It felt like it was drying very quickly as it touched the skin , so was hard to blend it without using more than necessary and leaving tide marks on your skin . I tried a few times with the sponge and finally gave up on the 1st tube. The 2nd tube I received was rattling around at the bottom of a drawer until I bought a foundation brush and though i'd try it out again . Wow ! is all I can say what a difference the brush made to the application of the foundation . With the brush the foundation glides on the skin rather than having the feeling of rubbing it in with the sponge. You hardly need any foundation for a full coverage as it blends so well ,I use a 1 cm line of foundation on the brush for each cheek, and a small dot for my nose. I add the extra as I have a small birth mark on the side of my nose, most foundations give about a 50% coverage on it , with this one it's much better, 75 % is covered and it's a lot less noticeable. When applying its almost as if the foundation sits on top of your skin where you have brushed it on , but at the same time its doesn't feel heavy on your skin and I haven't noticed any of it rubbing off either . It hasn't caused any blocked pores or any irritation to my skin either. ~*~ Does It Work ~*~ As Churchill would say Oh yes, yes, yes . It certainly does , they give you the promise of 8 hours and it lives up to the name and more . On an average day I apply my make-up at 8 am and remove between 8-9 pm . I use a wipe to remove my make-up and at the moment I am using some Nivea ones . I was absolutely amazed at how much of the foundation was still there after 12 hours . The wipe is literally covered in foundation when I have finished removing my make-up, it looks like I remove more than I apply ! ~*~ Thoughts ~*~ After initially hating the foundation I now love it and wouldn't part with it, and it's all down to using the foundation brush with it . The 1st sample tube I had, most of it went in the bin , but the 2nd tube that I used with the brush lasted ages, at least 4-5 months , so I am expecting the full sized product to last a good 10 months which for the price of around £10 is amazing value . The coverage is excellent and so is the lasting power , I am so glad I gave it another chance . Ditch the sponge, get a brush and you won't look back. 5 out of 5
If you are looking for a high coverage foundation that goes on smoothly and stays put all day or night, then this might be a great product for you! It comes in a flattish plastic squeezy container, which feels sturdy and fits nicely into makeup bags due to its flattened profile. It is easy to get just the right amount out, as opposed to some "pump action" alternatives which often give you too much. There is a reasonable selection of shades available - I use "pastelle" - but I would not say that it is an exact match to my fair-ish skin. I am somewhere between shades, but it blends in well and is a flattering tone. Because it is high coverage, I do find that I have to spend a good few minutes blending it in to avoid patchiness. Also, I can't wear it without other makeup products, as the coverage removes any of my cheeks' natural pinkness and touches my eyelashes and lips, so it is best used as part of a full "face". If you are looking for something that allows your natural radiance to shine through, or that you can use without other makeup, then this is probably not for you. Over the course of the day, the foundation stays put really well! I have combination skin with a tendency for oily patches, and this keeps me pretty matt all day long. If it does budge, I find that blending a little extra in on top of what's already there works a treat. Once I have applied a layer to my whole face and blended in, I use extra of this in focused areas instead of concealer, and it covers blemishes quite effectively. When removing the foundation, I do find it takes a couple of goes - either two cleanses or a cleanse & tone.
Max Factor was always a brand I dismissed when doing my usual makeup shopping rounds. This was probably because you don't often see their counters mixed in with brands like Maybelline and Rimmel, and being described as "the makeup of makeup artists" always made it feel like it was a 'professional', more expensive brand like MAC or something. However on the hunt for a new foundation, I came across the Max Factor counter in Superdrug, and decided this time I wasn't going to walk straight past it, but take the time to actually see what they sell. What I thought was nice about the layout of their stand, is that they give a list of some of their foundations based on the kind of coverage you want. Tending to go for the more medium-full coverage foundations, with a semi-matte finish and long lasting, I was almost instantly directed towards the Lasting Performance foundation. The slim design of the bottle makes the foundation appear as though you don't really get that much in it. However the small size isn't to be underestimated, as you actually get 35ml of product, which is 5ml more than your standard foundation. I know that doesn't sound like a lot, but considering you only use, on average about 0.5 - 1ml per full face application, you're still getting another 5 - 10 extra days worth. Plus it's still under ￡10 to buy if not on offer. So not that expensive either when you think that it's going to last around 2 months at least. The shade selection isn't that bad either. I'm usually an Ivory in foundations, and in this one I picked up 102 Pastelle as it looked like the best match for my skin. But there were 1 or 2 shades below this, so this foundation would be suitable for even very fair/porcelain skin. The first time I used it, I did like it, but because my skin was in really bad condition at the time, I didn't feel like it gave me quite the coverage I was after. However a couple of months later, my skin is looking a lot better, and also a little brighter so the shade matches me almost perfectly. I decided to give the foundation another try. The consistency is slightly thick but still watery enough to be able to apply it to the face with little effort. I basically applied this after applying my Rimmel Fix & Perfect 0ro primer, and this foundation applied so smoothly and evenly on my skin. I think it even blended in much better than most foundations I've tried, yet still giving a pretty good coverage. Just one layer was enough to even out my skin tone, completely hide any redness and almost provide sufficient coverage for blemishes and scars. Most of my acne scars were easily covered with just the one layer. But for the more stubborn ones I simply applied a bit more foundation to those areas, and patted gently to blend it in. It didn't provide complete coverage, but I think if it did it would have felt heavy and looked a little cakey on the skin. Although it still. Covered enough for me not to have to apply concealer, at all. (Well, apart from under my eyes) Now that is saying something! The finish this foundation gives is definitely a semi-matte finish, which I like. Although I still set it with powder to help it last longer. Recently my skin has often ended up looking a little dry about half way through the day. With this one though, my skin has stayed soft and smooth all day. It also still looks almost as good towards the end of the day as when I'd applied it in the morning. I've not experienced any breakouts, or drying/oilyness of my skin so far, so I can only be happy about that. Plus it gives a good enough coverage for me to just apply this, a bit of powder and mascara, and go. So it's good for days where I'm in a rush, or for days when I'm after a more natural look. To say I'd never bothered to consider Max Factor before, the prices for their makeup aren't that bad. Especially when considering that the Lasting Performance foundation is long lasting like my usual Revlon foundation, but is almost ￡3 cheaper, and gives a smoother finish. Since buying this foundation, I've also purchased the Max Factor Eye Brightening mascara for blue eyes, and is now my favourite mascara. Although I've not tried many Max Factor products, the two that I have tried, have been quite a winner for me, which only makes me wonder why I didn't try out Max Factor foundations sooner!
As I have mentioned a few times on here, I have an all time favourite foundation. A foundation I always go back to after trying the latest hyped up foundations, and the more expensive brands with their hefty price tags that don't even come close to the quality of this foundation. Max Factor Lasting performance foundation is the best foundation I have ever used, and I have tried them all. The foundation comes in a 35 ml clear plastic tube, with a black screw top lid on it. There are many different shades to choose from, I use 'Soft Beige' 106. This shade suits me as my skin is a medium colour, not very light, nor very dark, the 'average' colour I would say. The foundation itself is a liquid that glides onto your skin easily, I use my fingers to put a few blobs of the stuff around my face then blend it all in. The result is flawless skin. I have pretty good skin and it's rare I would get spots, unless I have used a skin product that doesn't agree with me, but on the occasion I do, so long as you use a little concealer beforehand this will cover it up. This foundation is really long lasting. Trust me, I have dry skin (even though I exfoliate and moisturise regularly) and the problem I was always having with other foundations was that they looked great when first applied but after a while it would go patchy on my problem areas making the dryer areas of my skin look darker and sometimes flaky. I have never had this problem with Lasting Performance. Another problem I have had with other foundations is that they can break me out. I had an awful, painful red rash on my face due to a very popular, high end foundation that I used. I have never had any skin sensitivity with this and it feels really comfortable when I'm wearing it, and not at all like a 'mask' as some other foundations can feel like. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this foundation. If you haven't already tried it, I would highly recommend it. I think it's the best foundation out there. You can usually get a 35 ml tube for around £7, which is a bargain, in my opinion, and depending on how often you wear foundation it should last you a good while.
Over the years I've tried loads of different foundations, from liquid, to cream, to mousse, to minerals. You name it I've tried it. I always come back to liquid though. For me nothing beats it. Max Factor Lasting performance is available in Boots and Superdrug at £9.99 for a 35ml bottle. It comes in a range of shades to suit all skin tones and claims to have a a long-lasting, smudge-proof formula that resists rubbing off onto you or your clothes. It also promised a guaranteed 8 hours of stay put perfection. That's what I want from a foundation. I want to be able to apply it in the morning and for it to last all day. I have very fair skin so I use the lightest shade which is 100 Fair. To get the right shade for you just apply a little along your jaw line and match up the colour with your neck. The last thing you want is a foundation that's too dark for you or you'll end up with ugly foundation lines all round your jaw line. Application is very easy and just like any other liquid foundation. Only a little is needed to get a nice coverage and I apply it in sections rather than just willy nilly rubbing it all over my face. I do forehead side of face, nose and chin the other side of my face. I then rub down along my jaw line just to make double sure I have no foundation lines. You can use a foundation brush or sponge to apply it but I just use my fingers. This is supposed to stay put for 8 hours on it's own but I always seal my foundation with a pressed powder. This helps seal it on but also keeps me oil free. You do get a lovely coverage with this but if you have any spots you do still need a concealer to cover these and the foundation doesn't cover them enough for my liking. The big question is does it really stay put for 8 hours? Well in a word YES!!!!. I've used this about 5 years I think now and it lasts the whole day. I've been able to apply in the morning for work, do a full day at work and come back home and it's still there at 8pm. I must admit though I do get oily during the day which would make foundation slide off but I use a matte pressed powder a few times during the day just to keep me oil free and freshen up my makeup. I really like this foundation and although new ones have come on the market since I've still stuck with this. Highly recommended.
I bought this foundation a while back when I was looking for something new to try. I like to test a variety of foundations and having had success with maxfactor in the past I tend to return to them looking for something new to try. This foundation comes in a thin and flat shaped tube. It has an elliptical shaped black plastic lid and the bottle fits pretty easily into the palm of your hand. I like the size of it, though the shape means you actually get relatively little of the product which isn't great. I do actually like the shape of the bottle though in terms of design and use, it is small and therefore perfect for travel. The foundation has a really nice thick and wet feel to it. It feels both rich and lightweight at the same time, if that makes sense. Because it is wet it rubs into your skin really easily, feels hydrating and refreshing and keeps your skin feeling soft for the duration of the day. It also has great coverage because it is thick and manages to create a smooth and clean looking complexion. It has good blemish control which is nice, because most foundation I use don't tend to cover blemishes or red patches very well. I do have to say I've used better maxfactor foundations than this one, but I still really like it and think the consistency and feel is great. The foundation tends to last for most of the day, which is what is claims to do. It also claims to not rub off on clothes which can often be a problem for me. I have noticed less foundation smears on clothes using this, though I generally put a powder over the top and this does come off a little. I bought this foundation in soft beige, which is actually a little dark for my skin tone which is pale and freckly. As a result I tend to mix it with a pale foundation in order to achieve the ideal colour, though this one is good for summer and for when I go on holiday. This foundation costs £9.99 for a 35ml bottle which I think is probably a little steep. There are other foundations from maxfactor that I personally prefer so if I was spending this amount it would be on those ones and not this (see my other reviews for more info). That said, it is a decent foundation that works well for my skin and gives great coverage. Not the best from the brand, but it'll do.
Max Factor is a range that I am really beginning to trust and rely on after trying several of their products and getting some great results. I was looking for a new foundation and spoke to the lady on their beauty counter to try and figure out a product that would suit my needs. After explaining that I have combination skin and am prone to oily build-ups throughout the day, she recommended that I try Max Factor's Lasting Performance Foundation. You can buy Max Factor make-up from most high street beauty stores such as Boots, and also through online retailers. The Lasting Performance Foundation costs £9.99 for a 35ml tube, which is around the same price as most of the other foundations in their range. It comes in a choice of 6 different shades and I have the shade 100 Fair, which is the palest colour available in this product. Product description: "All day, touch resistant foundation. If you demand a lot from your make-up then Lasting Performance is the foundation for you. With a guaranteed 8 hours of stay put perfection, your complexion will look and feel fresher for longer. Specially designed, light weight silicones and a hard wearing touch proof system stand up to any amount of rubbing or touching and, unlike other oil based formulas, it doesn't clog up your pores or irritate sensitive skin." This foundation comes in a plastic tube and you have to squeeze the sides to dispense the foundation. I like this type of packaging as it is simple to use and when you're near the end you can cut it open to get the leftover excess out, unlike with glass bottles where you end up wasting the last bits of the product. It does not come with any type of applicator so if you like to use something to apply your foundation you will need to use a separate brush or sponge. The packaging looks a bit old fashioned as it has kept the classic Max Factor design, whereas their newer ranges have a more modern appearance and in my opinion look a bit more appealing. I usually tend to use my fingers to apply foundation onto my skin, and then use a wedge shaped sponge to blend it in around my hair line, nose and chin. However, this foundation has a slightly heavier formula than what I'm used to using, and I can feel it sitting on top of my skin. It is quite thick for a liquid foundation and when I spread it on using my fingers it starts to leave visible streaks and I can't get it to blend in properly unless I apply this with a sponge and then dab across the whole area afterwards to get a smooth and invisible finish. It can get a bit of patience to get a good result but it is worth spending the time to blend evenly as this will give the best look and will help the foundation to set in place. I have very pale skin with loads of freckles so this gives me trouble trying to find make-up products that look natural against my skin tone. I have a real dislike for tanning and always make sure to keep my skin protected so that I don't suffer sun damage. This foundation has a lovely pale shade that works well with my skin colour and doesn't mask my freckles, but it still gives a hint of colour to keep my skin looking healthy. The Fair shade is good for pale complexions and I find that it matches my skin tone well, without covering over and disguising my freckles. That said, the Lasting Performance Foundation provides excellent all-over coverage and is great for building up a flawless base. I find that this is heavier than my normal light base foundations and it good enough to cover over any blemishes or red patches without requiring me to use an extra concealer product. Sadly it's not heavy duty enough to disguise my dark under-eye circles, but I think I will need a miracle to get rid of them! Once this foundation has been applied and allowed a short drying time, it stays firmly fixed in place. I apply my make-up first thing in the morning then I'm out at the office all day and so I don't want to be troubled with having to maintain my make-up and re-do it by lunch time. I tested the "touch proof system" claim by rubbing at my face with a tissue, and was impressed that none of the foundation came away unless I was being very rough and applying a lot of pressure. I am quite prone to oily patches building up as I have a combination skin type, and by the middle of the day I usually get shiny patches breaking out. This seems to be minimised when I am wearing my Lasting Performance Foundation, and I will get a light area of shine over my nose, but the rest of my face still looks clear. I would say that it definitely gives a lasting performance and does even better than the suggested 8 hours, and I am happy with how it looks even after 12 hours. If I am going out in the evening I will completely remove all my make-up from the day and start again, using this to give me a lasting base that will carry me through the rest of the night. This is a nice foundation from Max Factor that gives a good level of coverage without requiring additional concealer and I was really impressed with how it lived up to its claims of long lasting performance. I would recommend it for use during the winter when your skin can handle a heavier liquid foundation.
I am a massive max factor fan as I have extremely sensitive skin and have never reacted to any of their products. I have been using 'Colour Adapt' foundation for quite a few years but received a small tube of 'Lasting Performance' in a gift set an Christmas. I used it at first for everyday but liked it so much that I started saving for going out only in order to use up all my other foundation first. I am someone who likes my make up to be noticable and this may not be for your if you prefer a natural look, however it gives really fab coverage and really does 'LAST'! Putting it on at first felt a little strange as it didnt apply as smoothly as the other types almost as if it was sticky and i was sure there were going to be hideous streaks! This was not the case at all and I don't notice the funny feeling anymore. Only other negative that I would say is that I have noticed more shine towards the end of the day than with other foundations but I use a loose powder anyway so this is easily taken care of. Cost wise as usual with max factor I think it is extrememly reasonable at less than £10.00 per tube. I find that a tube lasts around 2 months (wearing every day) and so consider this to be excellent value for money.
I have been using this foundation for the past year, after borrowing this from my sister I was converted! I have an uneven skin tone, and my sister suffers from oily skin and this product works brilliantly for the both of us. I use the pastelle shade and the liquid applies really easily and 'glides' over the skin. I have tried applying this with fingertips, sponge and brush, all of which work fine and give even coverage, however the brush by far gives the best smooth finish. I'm terrible for rubbing my make up off during the day, but this does tend to last from early morning to the end of the day. Its quite gentle and doesn't clog up your pores nor does it leave a 'tide line'. Despite this be sure to remove properly, as I find I often need to take two attempts to get all of the foundation of when removing. Priced at approx £10 this isn't a bad price and for someone who applies foundation daily this lasts quite a while.
I tried a mascara from Max Factor about eight months ago and since then I've become a huge fan of the whole range. I don't think it is too expensive, compared to some other brands out there anyway, and I think the quality of the items is much better than most brands that I have tried. Today I'm going to review Max Factor Lasting Performance Foundation which is a foundation I tried about two months ago and although it isn't my favourite from the range I do think it is at least worthy of a recommendation. It is a liquid foundation and good for most skin types. I would normally advise not using liquid foundations on oily skin types but with this one I'm not sure, because I have seen this on people with oily skin types and it seems to give their skin a healthy glow rather than make their skin look too oily. So I would recommend trying a tester out in the shop if you aren't too sure about this. My skin type is dry/ normal and I would say this works well on me. The bottle that this foundation comes in contains 35ml. It is quite a thin bottle and when I first bought it I didn't expect it to last very long, because it feels like there isn't much foundation actually in it. But it has lasted two months so far and there is still a bit in the bottle so my initial impressions appear to have been wrong. The bottle has a black lid screw on lid that you sort of have to turn and press to make it either come off or stick on. The bottle itself is made from clear plastic. It has a star on it in which says inside it 'LASTING PERFORMANCE'. There is a black bit at the top as well and at the bottom of the bottle it tells you your shade number, and what the shade is called. In my case the shade is 105, Soft Beige. I think this shade is really great and although it isn't a perfect match to my natural skin tone (which is quite pale) it does look great in the summer when I have a tan, and when I have got fake tan on. Other times when my neck is pale, however, I have to use one of my many other foundations. There is a good variety of shades available. Not all of them are shown online, I don't think, because when I went instore there seemed to be a lot more than just six, which is how many there are on the Boots website. However I could be wrong. This foundation definitely lives up to its name, and lasts all day long. With some foundations they have come off and need reapplying by lunch time, but thats the reason why I love this foundation so much, because it stays put for ages. I says on the bottle that the foundation won't rub off onto clothes- well I don't know about that. I once wore a white scarf at the same time as this which needed a wash afterwards. I wouldn't risk wearing it again! I bought this foundation from Boots where it cost me £9.99 and got me 36 points on my advantage card. Currently it is under a 3 for 2 offer in Boots as well although unfortunately I missed out on this at the time. It is also available from Superdrug for the same price, but without the offers on it, and can be bought online from various different websites at various prices (but remember you'll have to pay delivery as well online). Overall I definitely recommend this foundation, 100%. The only reasons it loses one star is because it rubs off a bit if it comes into contact with anything, and also because it is slightly expensive (compared to some other foundations though you do have to admit its a steal). Thanks for reading :)
I have tried lots of the latest foundations that hit the shops and every single time I end up going back to my old faithful Max Factor - Lasting Performance. Not one of the most expensive foundations around but not one of the cheapest either, this foundation gives value for money. I wear full-on make up every day and this tube would last usually about 2 months which is really good going. I love the creamy texture which is ideal for the slightly more mature skin (I am in my early 40's) it dries to a lovely finish - not matt but not to shiny either and it lasts the full day. The only down side is that it easily comes off onto your collar so I tend to avoid wearing high neck light coloured clothing! (It does wash out though if the worse comes to the worse.) Available in a wide range of shades from the very pale to dark beige. Usually sells at around £9.99 but can be found in discount shops a coupleof pounds less.
After running out of my foundation the other day, I made a quick and speedy dash to Boots in order to get a new one. Though, my usual one (Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse) didn't have my shade in stock, so I decided to look around a bit, until I came to the 'Max Factor' make up range. Max Factor is known as a goos make and is often called the 'make up of make up artists', so deciding it was a brand that I could trust, I decided to choose a foundation from this brand and picked the 'Lasting Performance' one, which claims to be 'long lasting make up'. It was a liquid foundation, which I don't tend to normally go for, but decided to go for it anyway. I think it cost around £9. It comes in a tube shape bottle, which to use you squeeze the tube for the foundation to come out, though this does need to be done upside down (lika a conditioner bottle) in order to stop the foundation from clogging. The shade that I chose was natural beige and to apply, I did find it quite easy, with it being liquid I did find that it did kind of 'glide on'. To apply I used my fingers as it is all I normally use as I just find it easier. The foundaton proved to ber very difficult to blend in, it seemes to sit on top of my skin, rather than coating it evenly and if was particuarly difficult to blend if I had any dry patches on my skin as it seemed to latch onto these and make them seem like orange patches on my face. I also found that despite it matching my face tone perfectly it did leave a very faint line around the edge of my face and even with my best efforts to try and blend it in, it just didn't want to budge. I also found that once the foundation had dried in, it had this horrible greasy sheen to it and wasn't a 'matte' look which I would have normally gone for. Also, over time the period of a day wearing it I noticed that the foundation was becoming increasingly uneven with some patches on my face looking more orange and others looking as if I had not applied foundation there. One advantage to this was that it was very easy to remove and did not take much scrubbing or rubbing, however, this may be due to the fact that there wasn't much foundation to remove! Overall, I was very dissapointed with this foundation, especially as it is from such a well recognised brand and is an item that I will not be buying again.
I like to try alot of make-up products in search of the one that is perfect for me because I have this 'habit' I buy my make-up from my local market stall so I can get quality products at a cheaper price this one cost me £6.50 on the market and it would have been £9.49 in Boots or Superdrug so pennys to spare for another nail varnish or eye shadow!! I would recommend if you do this to test them in the high street shops first though, market traders don't take to kindly to testing products lol. So what do MaXfactor say about there foundation? '8 hours of stay put perfection' well I apply this make up at 7 and return home 3.30 and I would say that the 'stay put perfection' had worn off around lunchtime lol so I would say 8 hours is pushing it. Also if i wear it on a night out it doesn't last that long and you can see blemishes on my skin coming through within about 3 hours. 'Specially designed, light weight silicones and a hard wearing touch proof system stand up to any amount of rubbing or touching' again I think this is abit of an exagerration it doesn't rub off on clothes however if your in a club and its hot you do tend to touch your face (or is that just me). This does have an effect on the foundation it transfers when you are hot to hands. 'it doesn't clog up your pores or irritate sensitive skin' i would say this is pretty acurate I have quite sensitive skin and this does not irritate it and is not heavy to wear like some foundations. The foundation comes in a squirty tube which is 35ml and has a life span of 12m a couple of squirts around the size of 2 peas is enough to cover my whole face. It goes on well and gives good coverage for the day, though not 'perfect' for 8 hours the day does take its tole on the foundation however I would not say that the foundation comes off anymore than other foundations I have tried. A foundation for everyday wear which goes on smoothly and gives good coverage would recommend to others. Thanks for reading my review I hope you found it useful. Also on other review sited under the same name
This product has been the 'foundation' of my daily make-up routine for ages! I have been using it for around 10 years now and have never found one to compare to it for my skin. It gives really good coverage. I have enlarged pores on my cheeks and nose and this product masks them very well. It is a thick foundation and spreads evenly and well. It also covers any imperfections very well too. I have greasy skin too and this product stays put for longer than any other I have tried. It just needs a quick powder to set it again around lunchtime and it lasts the whole working day. I use the fair on my very pale skin and it is a very good match. It comes in a squeezy tube and it is easy to squeeze the correct amount out as it is thick. It blends easily so there are no tell-tail marks around your neckline if you wipe over with a cosmetic sponge. I hope they make it forever as it's by far the best in my opinion. Even brands like clinique and no. 17 don't cover as well or last so long.
All day, touch resistant foundation. Its show time / If you demand a lot from your make-up then Lasting Performance is the foundation for you / With a guaranteed 8 hours of stay put perfection, your complexion will look and feel fresher for longer / Specially designed, light weight silicones and a hard wearing touch proof system stand up to any amount of rubbing or touching and, unlike other oil based formulas, it doesnt clog up your pores or irritate sensitive skin.
