Advantages: long lasting, good range, easily available
Disadvantages: removal!
I have been using Lipfinity for a while now, and have about 4 different ones. I think they're great, and it is the one item of make up I really cannot live without. Obviousley it's not for everyone, but here's my opinion on it.
Max Factors Facts - quoted
Lasts longer than any other lipstick.
Lipfinity contains permatone, a breakthrough ingredient that provides semi-permanent colour by gently attaching colour pigments to the lips in a flexible mesh effect. It lasts up to 8 hours - from application in the morning, through coffee, lunch and afternoon tea.
No other lipstick lasts longer.
Moisturising topcoat adds moisture and shine.
Incredible colour that really does last all day (up to 8 hours).
No real need to reapply throughout the day.
Long-lasting, semi-permanent colour.
I can't really fault their words. It really does last longer than any other lipstick. And it really does last through eating and drinking.
There are 20 available shades in the Lipfinity range - 15 shades in the Everlites range ( softer shades) - and 14 shades in Lipfinity reflections ( a shimmery effect)
My recommendation is to test the colour first, my first purchase of these I bought blind, and the colour was a lot different than it appeared on the packet, I ended up with a rather fetching Pat Butcher Pink and not the subtle tone it appeared on the box. Also, if you do test, wipe off right away, otherwise again, like me, you'll end up with a rainbow of pinks and reds on your hand, even after washing a few times!!!
I personally prefer the normal lipfinity range, but have also got the others. The Everlites are great for normal day wear as the colours are a lot lighter for a more toned down look, ideal for weddings etc. The reflections is a nice range, but I am not a huge fan of shimmery lipsticks, I prefer shimmery lip gloss.
The price seems quite high, at around £10.00. But you have to remember that you only need to apply this once a day, maybe twice if out in the evening too, so you use a lot less than any other lipstick. You get the lip moisture stick with each box.
Speaking of which, you need to have this with you at all times. This is my only disadvantage of the product. The colour really does leave your lips dry and rather granny looking, so you need to apply the moisture stick a fair bit to keep your lips looking great. However, if you run out of this before the lipstick, unlikely, but if you did, lip balm and gloss work just as well. Or you can buy these seperately, but quite costly.
Removal!!!!
This is a tricky one, the first time I used mine, I was on a girls night out, and for my sins, went to bed without removing my make up. I awoke with the usual black smudged eyes and disheveled hair, but also lips still full with colour. It really is hard to remove, and after a bit of scrubbing with a face wipe does eventually come off. However, I have found a easier way for removal, and thats with baby oil or vaseline. Or you can go with Max Factors recommendation of their make up remover for long lasting make up.
Max Factor do other ranges of Make up in the Finity Range. I have not used them yet, but imagine they work just as well. I am a little scared of trying the Mascara incase it never comes off!!!
Overall, i think this is a great product, and would be superb for weddings. But also great for day wear, evening wear and anything else due to the wide range available. You can pick these up in most chemists, as well as Boots, Superdrug and all the other usuals. When testing, make sure you rub off right away otherwise you'll have tester stripes all over your hand all day long!!!!
Thanks for reading ;-)
