Being a big fan of lip liner and lip gloss and as a rule tending to stick to my usual combination, buying Lipfinity was quite a big deal to me, purely because its not a cheap product to purchase and it was something completely different in comparison to what I normally purchase. I had some extremely good comments on this product and wanted to try it myself to see whether it lived up to my expectations.
Some people would say I am vain, and I am constantly reapplying my lip gloss when I think it has worn off slightly, it doesn't matter where I am, whether it be at work, in the car, in the pub, I will just get my lip gloss out and put a little more on. I wouldn't say that I am vain, I would merely say that I take pride in my appearance.
So when Lipfinity was receommended to me as a product that I would not have to keep reapplying because it lasts for so long, no matter what you are doing, eating, drinking, kissing, I had got to try it just to see whether they were right.
The problem initially that I had with Lipfinity was chosing a colour. The range itself has a good selection of colours in it and it is really hard to choose one, especially for someone like me who always goes for a very light pink and doesn't actually add any vibrant colour to my lips. I went for the colour Charming, which I thought would be perfect in comparison to the colour that I normally wear, however, after applying I did find that the colour itself was still a little dark for me and I didn't quite like it, but that's me having a moan at the colour and not the actual product itself, I just need to try a different colour that I find suits me more and is more to my liking.
The Lipfinity promises to last for up to 12 hours and if thats the case then I would never go back to lip gloss. You have two stages of application, you have the base colour that goes onto you lips in a matt form and contains permatone which applys a semi permanent colour to your lips, thats why it lasts for so long and then you have a clear stick that you apply over the top of the base colour that adds the shine to make your lips look glossy. This is the part that you do have to keep reapplying over the day to give you that glossy look and not dull looks as it would if you didn't keep adding this.
Did it Last?
I have pleasantly surprised at how long this product did last, I have used products like this before that promise that you won't have to keep re-applying and have been disappointed with the outcome, however, with this I didn't have to re-apply the base colour at all, it just gently faded over the hours but was still there and you could tell. The only part that I did have to reapply was the top coat to keep the glossy effect.
During the period of time, I had been out for a meal with my new boyfriend, we have been to the pub for drinks and also with him being a relatively new boyfriend, quite a few kisses here and there and this product still remained in tact.
I was proven wrong with this gem, and I will most certainly be purchasing it again, the only problem for me is finding a colour that I am happy with as the initial one I didn't really liked but persevered throughout the day because I wanted to be proven wrong as I did not thing it would last.
ALthough it is quite expensive, it is cost effective in one respect as you are not applying up to twice every hour because it is coming off and you can be quite happy knowing that your lips still look great 12 hours later.

- 06/07/08 I don't wear lippy that often now adays after seeing some psychologist on a TV programme telling people that women wear lipstick to make their mouths look like vaginas in a bid to attract men...never seen lipstick in the same way since then! Rebecca Xx |

- 05/07/08 Wow. Im definately going to get this sometime. Im like you- I hate thinking my lippie has disappeared or looks rough, and its true, touching it up can look vain. But who wants to look cheap and not very polished? Make-up is supposed to enhance your looks and it doesnt work if its only half there! Thanks. Sarahx |
