Max Factor Lipfinity
Advantages: stays on and on and on
I use Max Factor Lipfinity since it was launched on the market. I remember in the beginning it was available in a few colours only, by now the range is quite wide, especially the pink shades. Lipfinity is a long lasting lip colour which consists of two pieces. First the colour has to be applied then a moisturizing top coat. It is food, drink, party and most of all kiss proof.
Max Factor is a cosmetic company founded in the beginning of the 20th century, now owned by Procter and Gamble. The company manufactures all kinds of make up products and in general their products are reliably high quality for a reasonable to expensive price. It is worth shopping around as the products are often on offer. Just like other big cosmetic brands Max Factor products are available in supermarkets, beauty shops, online, in pharmacies, etc.
I can't recall the year when Lipfinity was launched but it was at least 5-6 years ago. It wasn't the first long lasting lip colour which consisted of two pieces but was definitely better than the other ones available on the market.
The lip colour comes in a golden and the actual lip colour shade box which has a little hole so you can see the two pieces in the box and the colour of the lip colour. It costs about 10-12 pounds depending on where you buy it. For me it lasts about 5-6 months.
The lip colour comes in a tube and has an applicator as it has to be applied precisely. It is like lip gloss. After it is applied it has to be left dry for at least a minute. The moisturising balm comes in a twist up applicator and is similar to lip balms. After you applied the colour it feels very dry on lips but the moisturiser makes it shiny and feels soft and moisturised again. The manufacturer says it stays on for 12 hours.
Since it was launched I tested it in several situations and it is really kiss and life proof for long-long hours. The moisturiser has to be re-applied a few times when you feel your lips dry but the colour lasts long. I use only its own moisturiser and not any other lip balm for the guaranteed long lasting effect but I can imagine that it works well with other lip balms too. Lipfinity can be removed with oil-based make-up removers.
What I like in this lip colour is that it can be trusted. I put on my make-up in the morning and it looks exactly the same in the afternoon. I rarely have chance to check it or re-apply it so I use reliable brands and products. This lip colour never let me down. It stays on my lips whatever I eat, drink, or whatever I do with my lips...
Last time I bought a new pack I was hesitating which colour to buy. I like to try out new shades. The one I am almost running out is 140 Charming, this time I have chosen 110 Passionate. I usually choose from the non-pink shades. The Passionate is a ruby red colour and looks vibrant on my lips. I have to wear a moderate eye make-up when I apply this lip colour as it is very dominant and flashy on my white skin. It is a shade you can walk away unnoticed... and it stays on and on and on.
As it is a lipstick - even if not a regular one - the ingredients may be important. The colour part is made of isododecane, trimethylsiloxysilicate, dimethicone, mica, disteardimonium hectorite, aluminium hydroxide, propylene carbonate, barium sulphate, propylparaben, colophohonium. The moisturising part is made of sucrose polycottonseedate, ozokerite, cera alba, tocopheryl Acetate, propylparaben, ethylene brassylate, propyl gallate, tocopherol.
Saying that I have the feeling of tasting the whole periodic table of chemical elements but at least I look cool.
Overall I love Lipfinity that much that I use it exclusively. I am satisfied with it absolutely. It stayed on under all the circumstances I met in the last 5-6 years. It is a reliable brand and the colour range they offer (16 colours) is wide enough to make you hesitate which one to try next...
Summary: A great lip colour
