Advantages: It stays on perfectly all day - as promised!

Disadvantages: None

I put Max Factor's latest lipstick revolution 'lipfinity' to the test as I was desperate to see if it really was as good as the advertising campaign claimed.

I am one of life's sporadic make-up users. I buy make-up with the confident determination that I will change my image and become one of the perfectly presented women that are everywhere. But in truth, the fad only lasts a week or so because I just can't be bothered with effort and constant attention that is required to maintain make-up.

But no more! 'lipfinity' is a lipstick with 2 parts. The 1st part to apply is the colour - I bought Delicious No 170. It must be applied with care as it stains your lips for the rest of the day (unless you make a mess, in which case remove with baby oil or Vaseline). There is no hurry to apply quickly, as it will take a minute to dry so you have plenty of time to make sure that it is right.
I have found that the best way to apply the colour is to dry your lips with a tissue first. Using the easy applicator (a hard textured brush that gives you maximum control) coat your lips with an even application and wait for approximately 1 minute without closing your lips if possible. Be careful to swallow excess saliva first or you can drool down yourself! I have discovered that you should stretch your lips as much as possible during application and drying otherwise the colour will not stay in the cracks of your lips (wierd but true!) Do not reapply more colour over a previous application as this will result in a very heavy and clumpy coating. It is better to completely remove the colour and start over.
You know when your lips are dry because they will feel incredibly dry and will not stick when you press them together. The colour is of a good consistency, has a pleasant smell and is very smooth.

Then apply the 2nd part - the gloss topcoat. This is really like a moisturising lip balm with the added bonus that it is clear.
This is all you need to revitalise your lips throughout the day and can be applied without a mirror - brilliant for those on the run!

The Test
I applied 'lipfinity' at 8.30am this morning, determined to test it rigorously for the dooyoo community. I had already had breakfast and brushed my teeth beforehand, as this is my routine.

<br>The office -from 9-11am I sat at my computer and drank repeatedly from a water bottle (the kind with the sports cap). Only for the first couple of sips did tiny spots of lipstick transfer, and then no more.

Tea break...cup of tea and banana. Gentle breaking in of 'lipfinity'. It remained intact, only becoming dry, which I now realise is a signal to reapply gloss. You should only have to use the gloss once every 1-2 hours.

Lunch-the most demanding test! I was starving so opted for beef stew and chips with a pint of milk. (I've been trying to diet and its killing me!) I assumed that this would be the destruction of my lipstick and therefore settled down to eat without a care. After chomping and licking of lips, I went to the toilet to reapply. It was a miracle!! 'lipfinity' had survived most admirably. It just needed a further gloss application and no more. I totally expected to have to start again but it was like it had been at 8.30!

It was only at about 5pm that it began to feel a little 'bitty'. I managed to sort that by a reapplication of gloss and quick blotting with a tissue. 'lipfinity' lasted until 6pm and then began to feel a little heavy and clumpy. I had used the gloss a total of 6 times during the day, which I don't consider to be particularly high maintenance as I could just apply it while sitting at my desk. Removing it was really easy, but I had to use baby oil and a tissue; water just won?t shift it!

It lasted the exact length of time that it promised on the box (and how often does that ever happen?)! "Appl
y the colour once first thing in the morning, and it will last through coffee, lunch and afternoon tea?"

I'm very impressed and although at first I felt #9.99 was a little excessive, I am now converted and am going to get loads of colours. It is a lipstick invented for the 'can't be bothered with make-up' women.

well you've sold it to me, I'm going out to get one tomorrow!! The thing I've hated about so called long-lasting lipsticks is that they dry my lips out, but this sounds ideal, I'll let you know how I get on with it!
