Advantages: long lasting, slimline container, special topcoats available

Disadvantages: can't buy colour alone, comes with topcoat, need to apply topcoat if you want a gloss finish

Lipfinity by Max Factor has staying power. Long after you have chomped your way through creamy pasta sauces, swallowed down some vino (admit iiiiiiiit) and puckered up for some alternative mouth attention, this lipcolour will not have budged, so long as you follow the short instructions as directed by Messrs Factor.

There are two tubes in the standard Lipfinity kit, one in the colour of your choice as directed by the outer carton, and one standard clear topcoat. You make sure your lips are clean and dry, then paint on the coloured one first. Use a light touch - I glooped it on in my eagerness the first time and it took forever to dry and looked a tad caked. WARNING! If you are prone to going outside your lipline - tut tut but yes I've done it too :) - this may not be advisable in Lipfinity's case, unless you really want the same unnatural lipline the morning after the night before. And possibly beyond.

Then you wait for a minute or three (depending on your patience) with your lips slightly apart. Stretching the lips slightly ensures none of the lip paint bunches up in the creases of your lips. Once the lip paint is dry, apply the clear topcoat. Voila! Shiny, longlasting colour. Well, the shininess will last only so long as you apply the glossy topcoat, but the base colour underneath will not budge for a good 8 hours or more.

The great thing about Lipfinity is you don't need to carry your lipstick about with you. However, you will probably need to carry the topcoat (or indeed a lip balm of your choice - these work fine atop Lipfinity so long as you use sparingly and the balm is not too greasy) if you like a glossy, luscious look.

Out of all the long lasting lipsticks I've tried - with a few horrendous, parched lips experiences - Lipfinity is definitely the best of the bunch in my opinion. The little tube doesn't look like it holds much, but it's more durable than you may think and won't m
elt in the heat like tube lipstick.

In a host of colours, widely available notably in Boots The Chemist with a little counter of their own, competing with the more high-end cosmetic ranges.

Plus, Max Factor have recently introduced two separate topcoats in festive glittery hues, as opposed to clear, to give a different look to the lip paints. Bravo!

:)
