Advantages: Good to begin with
Disadvantages: Drys up quick and becomes hard to use
I have worn eyeliner since about the age of 11 when I used to play with my Mum's make up. I used to use kohl pencil eyeliner, however found it did not give enough colour or definition, so switched to liquid eyeliner. My normal product was a cheaper brand which worked well, however it didn't last long. So, being a Max Factor fan I decided to try Masterpiece Glide and Define. I only bought it due to it being on a buy two products and get the third one free offer. I needed to find a third product and figured that liquid eyeliner would come in handy.
The eyeliner is like a small felt tip pen, with a spongey but firm nib in a contained pen-like tube about 8 cms long. The liquid is inside and it keeps its consistency with the help of a little ball which you need to shake to avoid clogging. It has a screw lid to stop it from drying up.
Application at first seemed fairly easy as the nib was nice and moist but not overloaded with product. Due to the pen being small in size it is fairly simple to get a good grip and draw a steady line, although this does take some practice if you are not used to it. The liquid does glide onto the lid easily and is definitely well defined and pigmented. The colour is long lasting and generally does not fade or wipe off easily. Yet despite these good points, this glide and define only lasts about 3 goes before the nib begins to dry up. I was hugely impressed with the eyeliner at first, but that soon changed once this happened. It became difficult to get the liquid through the sponge nib enough in order to get a good, thick line on my eye lid. I was constantly having to shake the pen, draw a little, shake again, and draw a bit more. It became annoying and only got worse, so I gave up using the product after a short while as it was almost impossible to draw with.
A recent Christmas present means I now have to experience the joys of this item all over again, which I don't mind, but I would not repurchase it myself.
Summary: I wouldn't buy this if it only lasts a short time.
