Max Factor Masterpiece Mascara

Advantages: Great lashes, length, volume, cool brush, reasonable price

Disadvantages: slight raccoon eyes, can clump a little

-Availability-
I got mine in Boots- should be easy enough to find

-Packaging-
I actually own the MaxFactor Masterpiece Max which comes in a sexy black tube. It looks sleek in my handbag but the shape is easily identifiable making it easier for eyelash-envious friends to nick!!

You can tell the brush is a special high-tech brush that all the cosmetic companies seem to be advertising, which is nice.

-Does it work?-
Does it turn my asian, stick straight, almost nonexistent eyelashes into 'sumin-sumin'- you mean....
Why yes it does!

-First use-
I've heard really good reviews about this. Whenever I see someone with amazingly long eyelashes I ask them where they got their mascara and lately a lot of them have answered "MaxFactor". Also, I found this glowing review of this product on the kissandmakeup.tv beauty blog and therefore decided to hit boots and buy the damn thing already. This costed me 8.9 or 9.9 pounds which is kind of a medium kind of price for drugstore makeup brands.

I curled my eyelashes with my cheap plastic eyelash curler (oddly enough it works better for me than my scary heated ones) and set about eyelash-a-painting. I zig-zagged my way up my lashes from the roots to the tips. I could notice my eyelashes thickening when I did this. When I dragged the mascara wand to the tips of my eyelashes and kept going, I could see my eyelashes extending dramatically! it was truly amazing and I kept doing it.

I realised I had to one day stop applying so many coats but it was hard to stop. When I was done with one heavily coated eye (including lower lashes where it works wonders, too) and compared it to my other non-mascara'd eye, I could see a great big difference.

So yes, looks like this is going to be another stellar review

-Advantage-
Works- longer, thicker eyelashes! Not as expensive as other decent mascaras, better than most

-Disadvantage-
I think it smudges a little bit and gives a raccoon eye effect.
It can also clump, despite the 'hi-tech' mascara wand. This, however can be easily solved with a cheap plastic eyelash comb.
Mine comes in brown-black

-Conclusion
I think this was a really good buy! certainly the best mascara I've used to date in terms of lengthening qualities. (maybelline was really letting me down with its clumping-despite-scary-looking-lash-comb, down-weighing, XXL-no-not-really mascaras though I haven't tried great lash yet... and don't think i will) My next mascara on the to-buy list once I reach the unspoken 3 month with this will be the Imju Dejavu Fiberwig which is also allegedly great in terms of lengthening qualities.

It's also cheaper by about 3 pounds, so if it works better/just as well I think I might stick to that. If not, then yes i will go back to Maxfactor Masterpiece

Summary: Best mascara on the drugstore market!
