Like you I am sure you have tried numerous mascaras. This Max factor Masteriece is by far the best I have ever tried. I always return to it. I have a feeling it is NOT ONLY THE MASCARA but something to do with the brush. This is one of the new plastic brushes and is flexible so can reach even the tiny lashes. It does not clump but gradually builds lashes for a good effect. The most important thing about a mascara to me is that it does not smudge and this doesn't.
The price is around £9 (usual for mascara of quality) but is well worth a try. You buy in brown or brown/black. I haven't seen any other colours. Max Factor are the best when it comes to mascara. The negative side is the tube is small only 4ml (the gold tube) whereas most others are 7 or 8 ml, therefore it does make it more expensive.
I am fair so have to wear it and I can guarantee you will love it.

Summary: CAN'T BEAT IT!!!!
