Advantages: Separates, Defines, Cheap Price Tag

Disadvantages: Rubs off

When I buying mascara in the past I have tended to opt for luxury brands like Lancome, Chanel and YSL. I've always been of the frame of mind that mascara is worth investing in. But like most of us, I've not been feeling too flush lately so I decided to go middle of the range and try a mascara by Max Factor (I'd always been impressed with the reliability of their products in the past) and now I know you really don't have to splash the cash to find a quality mascara.

This mascara defines and separates lashes like no other mascara I've tried in the past. The brush is excellent; it's flexible and makes it easy to reach the lashes at the corner of your eye. Being fair and not the sort to wear a lot of make-up, I've found some other mascaras to look heavy and clumpy next to bare skin, but this one looks so natural. I also like the lightweight feel of this mascara, others I've tried have tended to make my lashes feel heavy.

I use eye lash curlers anyway, but I've noticed that when I've gone without the mascara does tend to lift the lashes significantly: giving you a wide awake look.

I've had it for about 4 months now and it's still going strong, it hasn't gone clumpy like some mascaras do either and still achieves a great, natural effect.

If you're looking for a dramatic night-time mascara, or prefer a bolder daytime look you might want to try a different product: with this one lashes don't appear thicker (i.e. there's no 'false-lash effect') they appear darker and more defined.

I paid £7.99 in my local Boots, which I think is exceptionally good value for money. It's only a couple of pounds more than budget brand mascaras and in my opinion, the quality is on a par of that of a luxury brand mascara.

One drawback, is that it rubs off quite easily, so next time I might go for the waterproof version...but one thing's sure I won't be shelling out for Chanel!

Summary: Perfect for those looking for a natural look.
