Advantages: A really a lovely mascara that covers well, with no irritations!

Disadvantages: NONE!!

Being that I'm a person that suffers with bad hayfever and sensitive eyes, I have to be careful what mascara I wear as some can make it a lot worse. I have to choose a waterproof one as I would end up looking like a panda most days if not.

Over the years I have tried many different makes and designs and whittled it down to liking Benefits Bad Girl Waterproof, which I have been wearing for some time now, so knowing that I was getting low I wondered into the local towns Boots to have a browse at the Benefits Counter.

Well talk about being harrassed, I was almost pushed into a chair and having my make-up wiped off for a "New Product", so after having to fight the woman off, I decided there was no way I would be purchasing anything from her company, luckily Max Factor was the next counter and just to pee the woman off I wondered onto this counter.

Now this assistant could not have been further away from the other one, and when I asked her about what mascara to choose from, I thought she would try and sell me the newest one out that was over £10, but no she gave me a good look over and decided on selling me this Max Factor Masterpiece in waterproof for £8.90.

Apparently the two that I was looking at were suitable for people with long lashes or thick lashes and as I didn't fit into either group she suggested this one which actually thickens and lengthens the lashes.

Coming in a flashy gold tube you can see straight away that it is the waterproof one as it has a blue band around the centre of the tube, compared to the other one which is just all gold. Holding 4.5ml it isn't the biggest amount around, as I know that the likes of No.7 hold 7ml. So this can work out a bit more expensive than some others, but mine seems to be lasting for ages!.

It isn't any smaller than any other mascara about so I took it, that the brush must be quite big. On unscrewing and pulling it out I discover it is the same size as most of the other brushes I have used in the past. The brush is a fairly thick bristle brush which tapers thinner towards the end.

It is a very black colour and is a joy to put on your lashes as it does not go clumpy or leave little fibres on your lashes that can irritate. I find that I can cover my lashes top and bottom in one go, although I usually give them a second coat.

My lashes also stay natural looking without going all hard ( like I've experienced in the past with some mascaras!) and looking like spiders legs. It gives a really even cover and thickens and lengthens the lashes lovely.

I've had no running eyes at all and even when I've had a bad attack of hayfever the mascara stays fully intact. The other night after having a shower and washing my hair, when I got out of the bath and looked into the mirror my make-up is in tact!.

So I'm glad the Benefits woman chased me away as I've found a truly brilliant mascara which I will continue to use forever!

The Max Factor representative was really helpful and patient in explaining all the different mascaras to me and really opened my eyes (literally!) to how you must choose the right mascara for your lashes!

A really well deserved 5 Dooyoo stars!.

Summary: If you suffer with sensitive eyes this is a really good mascara to try!
