In the winter I tend to suffer from quite dry lips and I always find that when going out on nights out, I need a nice lip gloss not only to make me feel good but also to help my lips. A brand that I don't normally use but was interested in was Max Factor. The gloss had quite a nice look to it and having not used their products before I was intrigued by it. The look of it was what swayed me but the colour range for this product also seemed really nice and quite neutral which I like.
To look at this comes in a small plastic tube like most glosses. It is standing upside down, lid to the bottom and has the Max Factor logo on the front,It says Max Effect gloss down the side and is clear so that you can see the gloss colour easily. It has a black top and overall just looks really nice. It is a small tube which is perfect for taking on a night out as it just goes into a clutch bag for reapplication. It is also very light to hold and easy to squeeze out.
MAX EFFECT GLOSS
Now, the gloss itself is really nice to use, I bough the pink sort of dusty pink shade which is really nice and to put it on I just took off the lid and squeezed a really small amount of the gloss out. Instantly I noticed that it has a sweet smell in the gloss which is really nice and adds a little something different to it. The gloss is quite a thick consistency but has a balm to it so that it goes on really easily and you can use the head of the tube to ease the smoothing on process.
Once the gloss is on, it has quite a thick feel but in a good way that it is protecting the lips and covering them well. It is a nice subtle colour, not too much to look really obvious you have it on but a nice shade that you can see the pinky hues without it having a really glossy sticky look to it. The gloss is quite matte which I preferred as I hate when it looks wet look almost as I just want a nice bit of life in my lips and to keep them soft.
The gloss stays on quite well and eventually skin absorbs the gloss so they just feel smooth and it's good. If you are wearing this to go out you will need to reapply if you are drinking as it is not one that stays on. The gloss has a light sparkle to its colour to, just to make it have more depth. It comes in 12 shades which is great so you have your neutral pinks, your reds and also darker more plum shades so there's a great variety for every occasion and look.
I think this is a great gloss and there is lots of competition for glosses but this is a good one for standing out. It looks good and feels good on and is a good quality brand. I haven't got anything bad to say about this gloss really. I keep it in my bag and apply it daily normally and my tube still has a lot in it but even to replace it won't be too expensive. If you want a gloss that feels good on that you don't know it is on your lips then this is the one for you.
This is available from all Max Factor stands and is £4.99 a tube or at Boots it is currently on 3 for 2 which is even better.
