Advantages: Punchy Colour, which lives up to its name

Disadvantages: stains the nails quite badly

I love buying new nail colours and was very lucky to have my mum buy me a new colour to add to my collection recently. I bought a new top, which is patterned in blue, so I wanted a colour to go with it. The colour I have of these nail varnishes is the 'Candy Blue' one. These nail polishes are miniature, but they do seem to have enough colour in them as I have used this one many times now and still cannot see any difference in the volume of colour in the bottle.

Effect & Advantages - When I first used this nail varnish, I was really surprised to see that I only needed one coat of colour on my nails. The consistency is nice and thick, but not gloopy. It has a really lovely glossy sheen to it and I prefer this because it means you don't get too many brush stroke lines on the nail bed when the colour dries. I was worried that it might take a while to dry, but actually, although it wasn't as quick as some of the fast drying nail polishes, it was actually touch dry within minutes. I wouldn't have wanted to do anything too physical, like search through my handbag with them just yet, because they would have been likely to smudge and I would end up with a very bumpy finish, but to do things like typing, or writing, it would have been fine. When they were completely dry, I found that the colour was really punchy and vibrant, I wouldn't have needed another coat, which was handy because the bottle is quite small.

Disadvantages - The brush is very small and thin, which I guess is due to the size of the bottle. I found that occasionally, on some nails, mainly the thumb nails, I was having to do as much as 4 strokes of the brush to get good even coverage. For me, this did make applying the varnish quite time consuming, so I would recommend putting aside some time to do your nails with this product. Also, when removing the colour, I found I was left with a lot of residue, and stain on my nails and the skin around the nails. This however, could be because the colour of the varnish I have is very bright, but I still would not expect to see that much staining. Another thing was, I found that I didn't get too many days wear out of it. I got about two days wear, and then it started to chip, making me want to re-apply.

Overall Thoughts - I think this is overall, a good nail polish. I think it does depend on what colour you get in relation to the staining issue. The finish is lovely and I didn't feel like there was any need for a top coat with this product which saves time.

Summary: overall, a good finish
