Advantages: nice finish, long lasting
Disadvantages: could have a better range of colours, packaging looks cheap
I love the dewy look you get from a cream blusher and a few months ago I scoured the shops looking for a decent cream blush. I eventually decided on Max Fcator's miracle touch creamy blush, simply because I am using their miracle touch foundation, which is a product I didn't really like very much to start with, but now have grown to love.
The first noticeable thing about the blusher for me, is that the packaging looks very cheap, especially when side by side with the foundation from the same range which has a much more expensive look to it. This blush simply comes in a small black plastic pot with a clear screw top lid. I found that the writing wore off the lid very quickly which was really disappointing, and added to the cheap look of the product.
Application is very straightforward, simply rub your finger over the blush and then blend into the skin with your fingers. I do find that the blusher is quite solid and doesn't melt as easily as the foundation, so you have to rub your finger over it a good few times in order to pick up any colour. Once you do though, it goes onto the skin very easily and has a creamy texture which is very easy to blend either on bare skin or over foundation.
On bare skin, this product gives a natural finish and a slight dewy glow and the colour is not too OTT. Having quite a reddish skin tone though, it's rare I will use this without a foundation underneath.
When I do apply this over foundation I think the results are much better than when used alone. The blusher still retains a natural look in terms of colour, but also seems to give the skin a natural looking glow. This product is not quite as dewy as I would perhaps like, but it does give a slight dewiness and looks far superior to most powders which often look like they sit on top of the skin or can be cakey.
The blush feels light against the skin and is pretty long lasting. In fact I don't think I have ever needed to re-apply this throughout the day.
According to the Max Factor website this product only comes in four colours, although I thought I remembered seeing more in the shop when I bought it. I bought 'soft copper' which I thought was a peachy shade, but when I got it home it actually looks quite dark in the tub. Saying that, it goes on the skin as a quite light, pinky-brown colour and does not look too dark against my pale skin, so it might be worth trying the different colours on the back of your hand before purchasing, as the colour in the tub is not necessarily representative of what the shade will look like on the skin.
This product costs £6.84 from Boots, which makes it in the medium sort of price range. Personally I think it's good value as it's one of the longest lasting cream blushers I have found.
Overall, this is a good product - it looks natural on the skin and is long lasting. The main downside is that I think the tub looks cheap and I'd prefer it gave a bit more of a dewiness to the skin, but overall another good product from Max Factor!
Summary: Great blusher
