Advantages: great cover up, smooth, clean looking, functional design, cost, long lasting
Disadvantages: not a great foundation for me but the perfect concealer
I have been buying this product for roughly 2 years and absolutely love it. It is designed to be a foundation but I actually use it mainly as a concealer over my usual foundation - though I have also used it as a foundation on occasion.
The foundation comes in a double sided, circular pot. It is roughly the size of your palm and really easy to use and travel with because of the size. One side of the disc twists open and has the foundation inside it, in a clear plastic dish. The other side has a black lid which flips open, inside the sponge used for application. The black and clear plastic colour scheme works very effectively, and also allows you to see the colour of the product before purchasing which I personally really like. There is some information on the box but this isn't overwhelming and doesn't spoil the appearance of it. As an overall effect I think the packaging is simple yet effective and also quite nice to look at. I have no problems using it so nothing to complain about there!
The foundation itself is very light and creamy. It is set into the dish, it feels like a liquid foundation once on your finger and applied to your face but without the drip factor. You can either use the small sponge to apply or, as I do, a finger. The dish is quite shallow and there isn't a huge amount of product inside, I think if it was used as a foundation it might not last very long so I prefer to use it as a concealer. I use my fingertip and then apply under and above my eyes, on my nose and chin and any other blemishes I may have. It gives a really smooth look to your skin, covers blemishes amazingly well and has a really lovely colour to it (my shade is creamy ivory, though there are others). When I did use this as a foundation I found it looked very heavy and gave me a very made-up look which I didn't really like for everyday. I will occasionally indulge when going out for the evening but generally I only use this as cover up.
I love the way it looks on my skin and it lasts for a really long time too - practically the whole day with little wear. I also find that the product lasts me 3/4 months which is pretty good for a concealer. Given the size of this pot as a small foundation pot, it actually means it is a rather large supply of concealer which I like because it means I don't have to re-stock that often. The times when I have tried other products or ran out I am completely distraught and found no other product that comes near to beating it's cover up skills.
In terms of price this product is roughly £8 to buy new, though max factor often have deals which make it a little bit cheaper. For a product that I rely on so heavily and use everyday without fail I think this is definitely worth the money for me and something I will continue to buy again and again.
Summary: Use it as a concealer and never turn back!
