First of all I must say that I wanted to try this product after hearing that it is discontinued. Well, I always wanting to try it, but this kind of things gives you the final push to do it...
And after using it I must say that I am AMAZED!!!!. I really didn't expect at all such result, but it's true that is not an easy foundation to deal with... but if it works with your skin type and, above all, your colour, then you have found a stunning product.
Applying it was not that complicated as many girls says, in fact it was reasonable easy... maybe I'm much skilled for applying make up as I thought, but I found it very easy. Just with a damped sponge, using very shortly strokes, working the texture well and that was all. Even did not take too much time, and all these things makes my surprise huger after reading all those things 'bout how complicated to use is or how long does it takes to apply it. As I've written I'm maybe much more skilled applying make up as I thought. :-)
After doing it I felt the skin kind of dry, not comfortable. But when my skin started to produce its own oils, then the sensation changed completely and I felt the skin comfortable.
Many people have written that, in close ups the make up is very obvious, others says that you can see it even from 5 meters!!!, Well, I looked VERY close and I don't see it at all, I asked a couple of friends and they said they didn't see any make up, just the gorgeous effect of it. I must say that the colour matches my skin perfectly, so that probably will help...
And now comes the most amazing thing for me: my skin is combination, so as you can imagine, when I use foundation, after a couple of hours the shine "visits me". Double Wear and Colourstay have been the best foundation I've ever try to deal with this problem. The great but natural covering power that they have makes them even better. But even with those foundations I ended having a shiny T-Zone. It's not a problem, it happens and it's quite okay, but the later that the shine appears the better for me... with those foundations it takes around 4 hours. But with Pan cake, after 8 hours, I mean 8, I still didn't have ANY shine at all, literally nothing at all.
this produce has to be wetted with water spray a couple of minutes before use and applied with a wet sponge ! no wonder it didnt work !
I was on holiday and realised that I forgot my foundation! I dont wear any make-up in the day when Im on holiday but its nice to dress up and look nice during the evening especially when going for a nice meal. I had been looking everywhere for my usual loreal liquid foundation, but of course finding that would have been like looking for a needle in a haystack.
I walked into a cosmetics store that had a very small selection of foundations which were all powder. I scanned through them all and wondered which ones I didnt want to get. I have never really been a big fan of powder as they usually leave my skin feeling and looking dry and pastry like. I spotted a shade that would have matched my face in the Max Factor Pan Cake powder foundation and it seemed OK so bought it. I got it for an equivalent of just under £5.00 which I thought wasnt bad for a Max Factor product.
That night when I was applying my make up I thought Id put my foundation. The powder comes with a sponge.
The product look rather pretty in its little round flat container but I thought id remove the lid and give it a go. I took the sponge and started to sweep to try and get some foundation onto the sponge. As the sponge was white, I could see that there was foundation on the sponge but when I went to put it onto my face absolutely nothing happened. The sponge still had foundation on it but I never. I tried again but this time swept harder onto the powder with the sponge and harder from the sponge onto my face. Absolutely nothing. I was rather disappointed.
I tried using a foundation brush that I had lying around and swept the brush over the powder. The brush didnt pick up any foundation! I tried harder but still no luck. I thought Id scrape (with the end of my tail comb) abit of the powder so that my brush would have to pick up the foundation. I swept my brush over the powder and finally the brush had picked some powder up! I swept it over my face and I could see something but it didnt make a big difference. I had to keep scraping and sweeping for about 5 times before I could see any results.
In my opinion, good if you want a very subtle powder foundation, but also want to work for it. That'l teach me to forget my foundation on holiday wont it!
