Advantages: A good soft matte finish

Disadvantages: None

I can remember using Pan stick make up years ago but then it was a much heavier facial product altogether, a few licks of the old Pan Stick and your skin set like a mask, it may have covered any skin imperfections but it looked very artificial.
On the whole the foundation creams of today are light, airy and weightless, you can apply them and they look natural and if they are well applied then they don't leave any tide marks around your jaw or hairline.

I have already bought a couple of cream foundations, both of them came in a small compact and can be applied using a brush or a sponge. One in particular that came from a make up party was very good and I am still trying to find a replacement for that one.
But Max Factor have reincarnated our old favourite, the Pan Stick - only they have dropped the letter C and have called their version the Pan Stik.

A few shades to choose from, Deep Olive, Sun Tone, Natural and Medium Beige. The Max Factor Pan Stik looks exactly the same as a tube of lipstick but of course it is larger, each tube contains 14g of make up.
I would think that the majority of us have to choose the colour of our foundation with care, too light and we don't see the benefit, too dark and it looks plain silly. I had to choose from the natural or the medium beige and in the end I plumped for the medium beige.
The matt black tube is an ideal size, it fits easily into any make up bag and will slide into smaller handbags, so all in all a very handy addition to your make up collection.

The stick of solid make up swivels as you turn the tube, you only need to let a small amount of make up slide up or the solid stick may break off. The Pan Stik is enriched with a moisturiser but has a good matte finish.
I always have to think twice about my choice of foundation cream , because of my dry and flaky skin heavy make up can easily accentuate those flaky parts.
I always start off by moisturising my skin well anyway, this does help prevent any unwanted flaky areas showing through.
The Pan Stik tube is so easy to use, if you had to you could apply it with one hand.
After you have moisturised your skin well then you need to take the Pan Stik and gently apply soft upward strokes to your face, I have a couple of skin blemishes so I always apply a small amount of concealer before I apply the Pan Stik.
When you have an even amount of strokes on your face then you are ready to start blending the make up into your skin.
I find that a small make up sponge is the best way, if I use my fingers it seems to leave trails behind. Ensure that you use the sponge gently, there is no need to scrub, it will only damages your skin. When you have sponged it into your skin then stand back and make sure that you have covered all of those awkward parts, the hairline and especially around your jawline.
My medium beige was maybe just one shade darker than my natural skin tone and that was plenty dark enough.
The Pan Stik coped well when it had to cover my small amount of concealer. The make up has a slightly sweet smell, very pleasant.
It is light and easy to apply, I imagined that it would end up all along the collar of my blouse like the Pan Stik of the past but it is completely different.
The make up didn't catch in any of my skin flakes but I found that I had to apply less to the area under my eyes, this area is full of fine lines and the cream soon started to form soft creases.

As long as I keep to the minimum around my eye area then the Pan Stik works well for me, it has a good soft touch finish which looks pretty natural. Once applied it will stay put all day and at the end of the day it washes off easily.
Most leading chemists have a Max Factor stand, I paid just over £6 for my Pan Stik and it is going to be with me for a long time.

Summary: Well worth adding to your collection.

My fiance's Mum mentioned Pan Stick today as she used to use it years ago, but we'd never heard of it! Now I'm a bit more informed!
