Advantages: Great coverage
Disadvantages: Thick, but not as thick as other products I've tried
I have been fighting with foundation for such a long time now, by gum I should have been one of the Four Tops. There's a joke for the little more motown-inclined amongst you!
I had previously been using a combination of primer, liquid foundation and concealer, as my skin is very red at times and getting the kind of coverage I want is hard. This resulted in my pores being blocked and greasiness amongst other things, so is not ideal. The only saving grace was my primer, but now Rimmel have kindly (not) discontinued it.
I thought it was time for change. Having a little more money to play around with than I once had, I took the time to research make-up on the internet. And one was getting good comments constantly and in the area I was interested in: facial coverage. Would it disguise my redness? Would it leave me sweating and oily like my last?
The answer: pretty damn good. Don't expect Max Factor's Pan Stik to be the answer to all your prayers, but rather than needing three layers of slap to hide my flaws, I'm happy to do most of them in one.
It is a bit thick, but for me it's tough to find anything better, so although I'm not truly complaining, I can't dub it the best - hopefully there's something better out there. Having said that, my shade which is 'Fair' is easily sourced, quite cheap at between £5 and £7 a stick and seems to last a while. I'm sad it comes in such a strange, flimsy tube, but then it does double up as a concealer and is handy to carry around in your bag.
I have no major complaints about this product, and would recommend it to those with redness, uneven skintone, or facial scarring, as I am yet to find anything better. Have you?
Summary: The high coverage-to-oily skin ratio here is good
