Max Factor Pan-stick
Advantages: good coverage, blends well, skin feels velvety and smooth
Disadvantages: not suitable for someone wanting light coverage
I used to use a pan stick a few years back but it was discontinued, so I was glad to find a product that might replace the old one as I'm not too keen on liquid foundations on the whole but that is mostly all that's on the market to buy. So, I hopped onto ebay and treated myself to some pan stik.
The foundation comes in the same kind of twist up tube as a lipstick or concealer would do, albeit a little fatter and flatter.
The tube is a black colour with gold writing which says "MF Max Factor PAN STIK" on the front. This looks simple, classic and classy.
There is no extra packaging around the tube when you buy this foundation, which is great as excess packaging really irritates me!
When applying the pan stik it glides nicely onto your skin and it's easy to blend in. It is a little heavier than some liquid foundations are, but not too heavy. Although it looks a little like concealer in the tube it is not as thick as a concealer.
With a liquid foundation I sometimes find I squeeze too much out and then have excess foundation on my hands and no where for it to go. This is not a problem with the pan stik.
The product has very good staying power, if I apply it in the morning and finish it with a little powder (I have been using a Max Factor one to match the foundation) then it is still in place by the evening.
My skin feels velvety, soft and smooth when I am wearing this foundation and it gives very good coverage for blemishes so my skin tone looks nice and even. You will need to moisturise or use a primer before you put the pan stik on your face, otherwise you can end up with dry, flaky patches or the foundation might not glide on as easily as it otherwise would.
I got the true beige colour (though as with all foundations there are different ones available to match different skin tones) and it blends in perfectly with my skin tone for a flawless look. I can't be certain of how many shades there are as every shop I have looked at seems to have a different number of shades!
I have no problem removing this foundation, it comes off well with wipes or lotion and cotton wool.
You can get this foundation in Superdrug for £6.99. I seem to struggle to find it in other shops, but a quick search on google shows there are online shops that stock it.
I bought mine for £3.75 with free postage and packing on ebay which was a bit of a bargain!
The price is pretty good, most decent foundations cost more than this one does and although there are cheaper ones around their quality does not match up to this one.
I really love this foundation and I think the price is great, so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.
Summary: A good foundation at a good price.
