Advantages: Gives a really light, but good cover, without being oily!
Disadvantages: None
Not another new foundation on the market my purse is screaming, as when it comes to these I'm always a sucker to try the latest, newest, greastest on earth face make-up. Firstly there was the No7 Intelligent Colour that adjusts correctly to your skin tone, that wasn't a bad one as you only had 3 colours to choose from, so you could narrow it down quite easily. Next it was again a No7 Stay Perfect, this was a bit more difficult as there were 8 colours in this range not so easy to choose the correct colour. Apart from these 2 my make-up bag is full of assorted brands from Vie Virgin, Rimmel, L'Oreal to Maybelline.
With last one being the new mineral ones that are about I managed to make my mind up that I didn't like this type at all. So on the hunt for a new liquid foundation this was my new mission in life so off to Boots I trotted. Well what a surprise there was a new one out, this time in the Max Factor range. Quite like this range so that was a good start. Now I think that all the foundations are really overpriced being around the £14-15 mark a bottle. So this time I was not going to pick the wrong colour and waste my money anymore!.
Now I would say that I put my make-up on quite nicely ( well I think so!) not pasted all over, but enough to see that I do wear make-up without it being right in your face ( sorry about the pun!), but whenever I go to buy any make-up I always say to myself ASK the assistant that's what they are there for. Some have been helpful in the past, but some either are not interested in what you are asking or really don't know which would suit you best, with it always ending up with you having to make the final choice. Apart from the Benefits counter they almost tie you to the chair in my experience!
So I slowly wander over to the Max Factor counter looking like I know what I want, with the assistant ignoring me, I have to pluck up the courage to ask. What sort of reaction will I get, well actually she is very helpful and adviced me well.
This new foundation is called "Second Skin Foundation" and comes in 5 shades;
~~~80 Bronze~~~
~~~75 Golden~~~
~~~70 Natural~~~
~~~45 Warm Almond~~~
~~~40 Cream Ivory~~~
The difference with this one is that it gives a good cover, but leaves your skin as if it hasn't got anything on it at all, so you don't feel all clogged up and they quote that "It is virtually undetectable" and that is very true.
One of the lightest ones that I have tried. Also this is not at all oily which is another good point!.
This can be applied with a brush, which is the way my Daughter uses it, but I prefer to use my finger tips. It just glides on all over your face and neck literally leaving you with a second skin it is as good as that. This comes in a 30ml glass bottle with a black pump top to you can control exactly how much you use. Another good thing is that when I got this from Boots it was on special offer for £9.95 instead of £13.99, but I'm not sure if that offer is still on at the moment as that was some weeks ago. You can go onto the website;
~~~http:/www.maxfactor.co.uk/uk/second-skin/~~~
and get a free sample sent to you, so this is worth trying to see if you like it or not!
I must admit I did draw the line at buying the new foundation that comes with it's own little roller that you roll all over your face that did not appeal to me!
5 stars for my second skin!
Summary: Does feel like a Second Skin without feeling like you have clogged your pores!
