      Lip gloss

      Max Factor vibrant curve effect

I usually like to have a couple of clear lip glosses which I feel comfortable wearing during the day.
I bought this from Boots but it is also available online at a range of prices from about £3 upwards, so its worth shopping around.

The product is available in 10 shades all of which seem to be varying shades of pink and red as well as this clear one, so there should be a colour to suit most people.
Its quite a small tube of the product, but this makes it handy to pop into my bag, even a very small evening bag. The downside for me is that I lose it easily and find myself raking around for it. It's a nice little tube though with a long black screw on off lid, and when I open it up, the handle makes it a good length for easy application as is the little sponge at the end of the wand. This little sponge is curved which is probably where the lip gloss gets its name from, and again this makes application much easier than when applied with a perfectly straight sponge applicator.

Although I have the clear lip gloss, when I look at it through the clear tube, it is clear with sparkle. I was a bit unsure about this sparkle because I didn't want to go to work with what would look like glitter on my lips. However, when applied, it does look glossy but there's not an overload of sparkle, just enough to make it look as though I am wearing a lip gloss. It takes just one application to get a full lip gloss look with no need to repeat application, and I like it because its not at all sticky, and seems to have some staying power, certainly lasting through a drink. It does have a very faint fruity smell and surprisingly, I thought it had a bit of a fruity taste but this is only when first applied and could just be my nose playing tricks on my taste buds.
I tend to apply the lip gloss on its own but have tried it over a colour but this I didn't like. It does make the colour look glossy but I don't like the fact that the colour then goes into the clear tube.

      VERDICT...

This is a good lip gloss and looks great on its own , glossy enough for night time and clear enough for during the day. Its not at all sticky, is easy to apply and has good enough staying power for a lip gloss.
The one down side is that because it's a small bottle, I do get through it quickly but then again I do apply frequently as it is moisturising enough to be used to keep lips soft.
I recommend this one and have already bought another.
      Thanks for reading
      Daniela xx

      Lip gloss from Max Factor

At Christmas I got a small box of mini Max Factor goodies. I like the brand but don't buy it very often so I was looking forward to trying it out.

My tube of gloss is clear so you can easily see the colour of the gloss and how much you have left. The lid is black giving it a sophisticated appearance, and the Max Factor name and name of the product appear on the side in gold lettering. A quick look on the Boots website shows that the full-size tube is pretty much identical in design to the smaller one. My gloss is shade no. 5 in 'Bubbly', which is a pale champagne shade (so a very appropriate name!). It appears slightly shimmery and sparkly in the tube, which I hoped would give a pretty effect when applied.

Inside the tube, the gloss is applied with a standard sponge applicator. It has a very pleasant taste and smell which is fruity and just like melon. It goes on very easily and doesn't feel sticky at all on the lips.

It looks very attractive once on, shiny but not over the top and as suspected has a slight shimmer effect. It is very subtle however and would suit older women just as much as young ones. I've used this gloss alone for a natural look, and it is very effective as the colour looks really good without being over the top. I've also used it over lip stain and here it adds a glossy effect over colour to good effect.

I find that this gloss lasts around an hour. It doesn't stay on all that easily, in common with most glosses really. I normally find that the glosses with the best staying power are those that are quite sticky on the lips, and this isn't at all. This is really the only bad thing about the gloss, though.

Apart from the price, that is. A full size 17ml gloss costs £7.99 which I think is quite expensive. I really don't think I would pay that much - perhaps if it was on a 3 for 2 offer that is. I find that as I have to reapply the gloss quite a bit, it is going down fairly quickly though in fairness my gloss is only a mini one.

I wasn't sure where the name "Vibrant Curve Effect" came from until I looked on the Boots website and saw that the gloss is designed to give "curvaceous, fuller looking lips". My lips do look a bit fuller when using this gloss, but that's something it has in common with all glosses - shine makes the lips look bigger. If you want something that actually helps to plump your lips you should go for something like Soap & Glory's Sexy Mother Pucker.

This is a nice lip gloss, non-sticky and pleasant to use, albeit a little expensive. It is available from Boots and Superdrug in a range of colours including subtle pinks, natural browns and bright reds.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        I like it!

For Christmas I received a fabulous Max Factor gift set and inside was a mini version of Vibrant Lip Curve effect lipgloss!

        -PRICE-

You can find this lipgloss everywhere really at the price of £7.99 for 17ml. If you look online on sites like Ebay, you can find it a lot cheaper..so for that reason I would recommend buying online instead..lets just hope they are not fakes!

I think the price of the lipgloss is quite expensive, make up just seems to be ridiculously over priced which sucks when your poor and you love make up!

        -APPEARANCE-

This lipgloss isn't really any different to other ones, it comes in a small tube with a black twist off lid.
The tube is clear so inside you can easily see the colour of the gloss you are getting.
The part you use to apply to your lips is a good size and has a nice curve to it and is purple in colour.
Printed on the tube is the Max Factor logo which is wrote in gold, also the name of the product and some information ( contact information ect.. )
On the bottom of the tube is a sticker with the shade colour on.

I dont really have much to say about the appearance, its just like any other lipgloss really, not great but not bad either.

        -USE OF THE PRODUCT-

I have quite full lips so I wouldn't really say this was something I *needed* although I do enjoy having new things. I say needed because this gloss is made to give you fuller looking lips, apparently the gloss hugs all the corners of your mouth which gives a fuller look.

There is a wide range of shades available, just take a look on Max Factors website or Boots own website and the shades are easily laid out so you can find one you like, the shade I have is #5 Bubbly which is a peachy/pink very light nude kind of colour.

The first thing I noticed when using the gloss is the smell, unlike usual glosses which always seem to smell of fruit like strawberries and raspberries..this one kind of has a watermelon smell! Which is a lovely change from the usual!

I wouldn't say this gloss is very dramatic and eye catching, its actually quite natural looking on my lips, with tiny specks of shimmer and although the colour did look quite pink/peachy in the bottle you can only notice a sheer amount of that whilst on your lips.

I think I would of preferred if the colour had come out more like in the tube, but I wouldn't really knock it for that as it does deliver everywhere else..bar the price!

The gloss isn't sticky, doesn't dry up my lips and is very evenly applied due to the wand shape! I dont find I have fuller looking lips when using it but that doesn't bother me because I am okay about my lip shape anyway!

The gloss stays put for a good few hours, its not one of the ones that just seem to disappear after a few seconds of applying it and as I said before, it doesn't dry out my lips so my lips always look healthy and smooth whilst still looking pretty!

I would recommend this if your after a natural looking gloss with a fleck of shimmer and dont mind a sweet tropical smell! If you prefer full coverage, full cover and an eye catching lipgloss then I would avoid this and spend your money somewhere else!

I hope my review was helpful to you and if not please message/leave a comment explaining why and I will happily work on it.

        Colpol.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A shimmering sheer lip gloss that lasts for ages and looks lovely

Max Factor started creating beauty products for movie stars back in 1914 and due to their success, he started selling them in shops. That success is still being seen today, and the beauty brand is now one of the worlds most popular. The company aims to make all of us mere mortals look and feel as glamorous as those movie starts on which he started off working on. I bought a Vibrant Curve Effect lip gloss hoping (but not expecting!!) for this to be the case.

        What does the product do?
The Vibrant Curve Effect lip glosses promise to coat your lips with a gorgeous shine and to provide you with a wide range of eye catching colours to choose from. Using light reflecting technology and a ShineSculpt applicator, Max Factor claim that the curves of your lips will be accentuated and that they will appear fuller to all who feast eyes upon them.

        How does it work?
The product supposedly performs this magic due to the special shape of the brush. As it has a curved shape, the brush hugs the lips as the product is applied and ensures a full and complete coverage. The special shine technology of the gloss also makes your lips look plumped up and full.

        Available Shades
They are quite a few shades to choose between, each one with a special and interesting name. I chose Me, Me, Me which is a hot pink slightly shimmering colour but was also torn between Intuitive which is a baby pink shade and Dominant which is a rich red/coral colour. There are chocolate shades which include Majeste, Smart and Urban Queen or if you simply want a clear gloss then you can choose the aptly named Understated, although this still has a slight shimmer.

        Packaging
The lip glosses come contained within clear tubes through which you can clearly see the gloss so you know exactly what you are purchasing. All of the lids are black and when you unscrew them, you see the application wand is attached. The applicator is made of a spongy material and it is formed into a slightly backwards curve. The packaging looks expensive and I am proud to use the product in public.

The product is on par with other similar brands cost wise and you will be looking to pay around £6.99 for 17ml of the lip gloss. It is available from lots of high street pharmacies and department stores, larger supermarkets and from a variety of online websites so if you shop around then you may find it for cheaper or on a special offer.

        Extra thoughts
Firstly if you are looking for a highly pigmented lip gloss which will give you a full coverage of colour then you will be disappointed with this product. I would describe the coverage as sheer which suits me to the ground because I don't like too much colour on my lips but I can see why some people may be disappointed with this level of coverage.

My Me Me Me shade simply enhances the colours of my lips but coats it with a lovely shine and a delicious shimmer. The shimmering colour is another thing that may not be to every ones taste but I love all that glitters so I really like it. The particles are so tiny that it almost makes my lips look iridescent and it is not like a disco ball effect so it isn't too over the top and would still be suitable for work wear as well as an evening out. The product looks lovely either alone or over the top of your favourite lipstick.

The applicator isn't revolutionary but it does make it much easier to apply the lip gloss quickly and precisely although it does feel funny the first time that you use the product as it is different to the brushes I have previously used. The brush really does hug your lips and none of the product goes onto the skin around my lips. My lips do look more plump and fuller but whether this is due to the brush and gloss, or just the fact that I have a coloured gloss on my lips, I'm not sure.

The gloss itself is no more and no less sticky than any other lips gloss. My hair does get stuck to my lips if a breeze blows while I am wearing the product but this is simply one of the pitfalls that come with a lip gloss so I grin and bear it. It has an artificial sweet taste which again might put some people off but I like sweet things and I try my best not to lick the product off anyway. It also has quite a sweet smell which I like but it isn't overpowering and you can't smell it for long after the product has been applied.

The product is long lasting and stays on my lips for a long time and even survives through lunch time when I am eating and drinking. It feels comfortable on the lips and doesn't feel overly greasy. Once it has been removed at the end of the day, my lips don't feel dry or tight so it must be quite a moisturising product as well.

All in all, for those who don't like sheer coverage, shimmer or sweet scents or tastes this product may not be for you. However, it is right up my street because I like all those things. It doesn't make a massive difference to the size of your lips but it certainly makes them more eye catching. I am very pleased with this product and would be happy to repurchase.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

4/5 a great new type of applicator.

Lip Gloss is something I don't wear that often as I always seem to get my hair stuck to my lips which is never a good look. However, I do like to wear lip gloss when I'm going on a night out and I fancied a new one so as always, nipped into Boots to see what was available. I had a look around a few of the different makeup stands before settling on Max Factor as they had a really good choice.

I decided on Max Factor's Vibrant Curve Effect Lip Gloss which set me back £7.99. It is a bit pricey but as it was a treat I didn't mind too much. The gloss comes in a 17g tube, it's about half gloss and half lid/ applicator. The bottom half is clear so you can see exactly what you're getting and the lid is black and quite stiff get off which means it doesn't come undone when you don't want it to.

The Claim: "Vibrant Curve Effect Lip Gloss from Max Factor gives your lips sheer, vibrant colour and curve-accentuating shine. Unlike most glosses which just have a traditional sponge tip, Vibrant Curve Effect Lip Gloss hugs the curves of your lips, providing luscious colour and shine. The new formula is shiny but not sticky and has a refreshing watermelon fragrance!"

The gloss comes in ten different shades from clear to pinks to browns, so there's something for everyone. I chose to buy the gloss in Smart, which is a nude colour but with a touch of pink, not too obvious but just enough for me.

The applicator is curved meaning that it moulds perfectly around the lips, it gives a really smooth application. The colour is quite light, although I didn't want anything too bold I didn't expect it to be so unnoticeable. However, after a couple of layers the lip gloss looked perfect, just the right shade with a little bit of glitter. The gloss isn't heavy on the lips, its very light indeed and it isn't sticky at all. Not only that but it does leave my lips feeling soft which is always a bonus. The gloss stays on relatively well; I find it does need reapplying once or twice during a night out.

I have been quite impressed by Max Factor Vibrant Curve Effect Lip Gloss, the applicator is amazing but the light colour does let it down a little bit. I think I definitely get my use out of the gloss as I wear it quite regularly; it's great for day and night use and I do wear it quite often. There's a great range of shades available so there's definitely something for everyone.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

A nice gloss that doesn't dry out my lips

Max Factor is a range that I am just beginning to use after falling in love with their Liquid Illusion Foundation. After the success I have had with that product I wanted to try some other things in their make-up range, and this Vibrant Curve Effect Lip Gloss was first on the list. You can buy Max Factor make-up from most high street beauty stores such as Boots, and also through online retailers.

This lip gloss is a new product from Max Factor and comes in a choice of 10 different shades including pinks, reds, naturals, and brown tones. It costs £7.99 for a 17ml lip gloss tube. I have the shade #14 Majeste, which is a mid toned brown with a slight pinkish hue.

Product description: "Vibrant Curve Effect Lip Gloss from Max Factor gives your lips sheer, vibrant colour and curve-accentuating shine. Unlike most glosses which just have a traditional sponge tip, Vibrant Curve Effect Lip Gloss hugs the curves of your lips, providing luscious colour and shine. The new formula is shiny but not sticky and has a refreshing watermelon fragrance! "

This Lip Gloss comes in a plastic tube which is see through, allowing you to easily see how much product you have left. The lid unscrews to reveal a wand applicator with a curved sponge tip.

Directions for use: "The patented ShineSculptTM Applicator, exclusively designed by Max Factor Make-Up Artist Pat McGrath, is inspired by the shape of the lips. It works in harmony with the glossy shades to embrace every curve of your lips with high-shine appeal. The result? Your lips look fuller, shiny and curvaceous!"

I selected this gloss in the shade Majeste, and in the tube it looks like a warm slightly pink toned brown colour. When I put the Lip Gloss on it didn't show up that much over the natural pink colour of my lips. I tried applying a beige lipstick underneath as a base but again the level of colour did not amount to much so I don't think the pigment is very dense within the Lip Gloss formulation. The gloss also contains a sprinkling of glitter but this doesn't stand out too much so it's subtle enough to wear in the daytime without looking like you're off to a party!

The curved tip on the wand gives a smooth and even application, and allows you to sweep the colour evenly over your lips to get a full coverage. However, I can never seem to get quite enough gloss on the wand to be apply to apply a full lip in one go, I usually need to go back over it again to make sure that my pout is properly glossed up :)

The gloss is very smooth and feels nice on the lips, leaving a gentle moist feeling. There is absolutely no stickiness which is a must for all long-haired lip gloss wearers! I tend to apply a base of lip balm before putting on any other lip make-up, and this Lip Gloss does not dry my lips out at all which is an excellent result considering I wear it frequently and it keeps my lips feeling soft. It has a good staying power for a gloss and usually lasts from first thing in the morning until mid-afternoon. The colour is fairly sheer and this wears down first, although my lips seem to keep a nice light glossy look to them.

I think this is a good make-up product that gives a nice glossy shine to your lips and is easy to apply. I like the colour but am a little disappointed that it is not as bold as I had expected it to be when applied. I have been happy enough with the results but the price does put me off a little bit as it's more expensive than what I would normally buy. A good Lip Gloss that works well for everyday use.
