I cant resist shoppping for a bargain and although I said I would stick with my usual Estee Lauder mascara, when I saw this advertised a few weeks back I decided to try it. I've been wearing mascara since I was about 15 (yes - for a female now-a-days, thats quite late!!). Usually I stick to the brands I know and trust, such as Rimmel and Elizabeth Arden. I saw an advertisement for this mascara on TV the other day and thought I must give it a try! I never used to like this mascara though I can't really understand why. We change, I guess! Now I'm a total convert. It's my favourite mascara. I love it, and it's very easy to find in my bag because of its bright greenness! It is very distinguishable from all my other makeup. I love the bendy, spiky plastic brush which applies the mascara very easily, smoothly and it separated your lashes strand by strand. My lashes become very long and black and defined. I'm usually one to present Maybelline products as a must have, however a member of my family bought this mascara for a wedding and i have to say it was rubbish. The brush is rubbery and therefore doesn't leave the mascara on your lashes properly, instead it just slides off your lashes and doesn't really add any volume or define the lashes at all. Define-A-Lash - yes it does do this. I am the mug who buys lots of mascaras trying to get the ultimate look. Or, at least, trying to get some eyelashes that I can see in the mirror. The green packaging is quite bright, makes it easy to find in my makeup bag (but not any more as I've put it back in the cupboard). Rubber brush is quite good at seperating and no clumpiness. So the guidelines were correct on this bit of advertising. Unfortunately it did not make my eyelashes look anything like on TV (I told you I'm a mug!) - I tried a few coats to make them look thicker but not longer.
