Item: Maybelline Define-A-Lash Mascara
Bought in: Boots
So why have I bought yet another mascara?
I recently had a disaster and bought a mascara that didn't work (reviewed on here) so had to get a new one pretty quick as I like to wear mascara every day. I popped in to Boots in the train station on my way to work and their offerings were limited as it was a smaller store but I saw they had Maybelline, so after a quick look at the brushes picked this one. My review will tell you all about it.
Packaging and design:
This mascara comes in quite a bright and eye catching colour. It is bright lime green. Harking back to the days when Maybelline was new to the UK and their first mascara came in that short pink and green tube, it is the same colour of green as that. I really like this colour, makes a nice change to all the dark coloured packing out there just now. It is fresh and clean looking. The writing on it is all in white and advises you that it is Maybelline's define-A-Lash mascara and should give you "separated, sensuously long lashes, no clumps". This is all easy to read and in a standard font. The back tells you it contains 6.5ml of mascara. The tube over all is 12cm long (so fits easily in a standard make up bag). The lid makes up 3.5cm of that overall length and although a touch shorter than other lids I have held, as it is a nice straight shape (no elaborate design here) it is easy to hold. The wand is 8cm long, 3cm of that is the brush. The brush is what helped me decide to pick his mascara. It is really bendy and when you push it against the side of the lid will bend almost to a 90 degree angle. The shape of the brush is really good for me. The bristles are all the same length but the base that they sit on it indented in the middle, to give you a curve, so not all bristles will touch the eyelashes at the same time. (Think if you squeezed in the middle of a modelling balloon, that's the shape!)
Application and wear:
As you pull the wand out of the tube you hear a "suction" noise as the bristles rub against the inside of the neck of the tube. At first when I pulled the brush out I thought that there wasn't any mascara on it as the bristles remained green at the tips (not black, the colour of the mascara) but no....there was mascara on the brush and it slid off the brush as I guided it over my eye lashes. How clever! So the suction at the neck of the tube actually makes sure that the bristles are free from excess mascara and the mascara is applied from the base of the brush. This seems to really help the application, especially on my lower lashes which can often get caked very easily, however with this one I can give them 2 coats, and they thicken up nicely and each lash gets covered. For the upper lashes, 2 coats covered the whole set of lashes and gave them a look as though I had curled them, I hadn't, so I was delighted with that. No fussing about and trying to wiggle the brush awkwardly from side to side to get the mascara off the brush and on to the lash, it just smoothed itself off the brush. the shape of the brush obviously helped give a good overall coverage too, getting the outer and inner edges with no excess in the middle. The mascara lasted all day, no specks falling off, no tightness and no running. I had a bit of extra time last night so after my shower I tried the mascara again and wanted to see how many coats I could give them to go extra dramatic and found that 4 coats gave a real "false lash" effect without clumping or going gloopy. It also added extra length too, so for nights when I want that false lash look without gluing anything to my face I will layer up 4 coats. This has quite a unique smell. This may sound a bit mad but....You know the smell you get from the paper that really dark chocolate comes wrapped in, it smells like that. Now that's not a bad thing! This can only be smelt directly sniffing the brush but I do like to do a sniff test just in case it actually smells horrendous. The colour is black and really does look jet black with a good matt finish so it looks dark rather than shining and looking lighter.
Overall I am really pleased with this mascara. The packaging is different to others I have recently purchased, its a nice colour for summer. The tube neck works really well to allow just the right amount out, no need to try and scrape excess back in. The wand is a great shape and holds just the right amount of mascara (seemingly having no mascara on it, then there's just the right amount as you apply it to your lashes) and it is true to the colour on the label. 2 coats for day, 4 coats for a dramatic night out look :-)
This is a mascara created by Maybelline. The product is quite an old one now and they appear to have stopped stocking it in Superdrug, it's a shame because it's one of my favourite mascaras and I am very much a mascara girl. Define-A-Lash claims to give you separated and seriously long lashes with no clumps.
Define-A-Lash comes in a bright green tube which I must admit is a bit of a random colour choice for a mascara but I suppose they wanted to stand out because nearly all mascaras come in black tubes. There is a disc of clear plastic on top of the lid of the tube of mascara although I can't really figure out what it's purpose is. The packaging states that there is 6.5mls of product within the tube which from my experience is a bit less than you get in most mascaras, you tend to get 8ml. The mascara wand is very flexible and contains several rubber spikes. This I believe was one of the first products to use a mascara wand like this. The wand also is in a concave shape meaning it hugs your eyelashes.
£5.99 on eBay.
This mascara provides an even coat to the lashes without creating clumps. It separates lashes to a good extent but not to a point where it doesn't really look like you're wearing mascara and then lacks volume. If you are more of a person that prefers volume this mascara is definitely buildable and with a few extra coats you could be on your way to a night out in no time.
The mascara wand makes it really easy to coat every lash even those difficult ones in the corners of the eye. For me it gives you a very dramatic look and makes the most of your eyelashes whether you are blessed with long ones or find that yours are a bit short.
You can also purchase this product in a waterproof version.
Despite this product not being waterproof I still feel it has good staying power, the intensity of the black mascara doesn't seem to fade throughout the day and it stays put until I take my make up off in the evening.
A nice mascara with a really good wand.
If you've read any of my other mascara reviews you'll know that I am always trying the latest mascaras. After years of using waterproof mascaras everyday I am left with short straight lashes and I HATE them! I want long, curled up thick and separated eyelashes and I'll keep trying new mascaras until I'm happy. This mascara I have to say is the WORST mascara I have ever tried in my entire life! I hate it with a passion and will explain why.
First off the packaging. It's a mid priced mascara so it's nothing special to look at, not sophisticated or expensive looking like others in this price range. It comes in a lime green tube with lime green screw top lid. It does look quite funky and I personally really like green so I wasn't out off by it at all. I was drawn to it after seeing it advertised on television. It promises sexier, more defined lashes. It has a unique shaped-to-the-lash brush is ultra flexible, designed to reach and accentuate each and every lash. It has a lightweight formula and unique built-in clump remover. Zero clumps on the brush = Zero clumps on your lashes. Sounds great doesn't it?
I was disappointed from the first moment I removed the wand from the tube. Their ultra flexible brush is what they say it is and I hated it. It is was too flexible for my liking, I felt like I had no real control applying the mascara to my lashes with this because it was bending about so much! The brush itself is very thin and after I'd applied one coat of mascara I was left with the most thin, spindly, spiders legs lashes I have ever seen! Yes they were separated I must admit that but they were so measly and thin looking and all over the place they looked awful. I have never in my life been so disappointed in a mascara. My eyelashes honestly looked terrible.
I passed this onto my sister who isn't fussy when it comes to mascaras and she too hated it! She chucked it in the bin! It wasn't even worthy of being an emergency mascara, you know that mascara that is not all that but you keep anyway just in case you find yourself out of mascara one day.
I have to give it some points, it is no clump like it promises, the brush does come out nice a clean and clump free. The brush is flexible as promised and it does separate your lashes. Maybe if the brush had been thicker and slightly less flexible it would have been better but for me as it is I would never buy it again or recommend it.
Available in Boots & Superdrug for £8.19 and currently 3 for 2 on selected Maybelline products in Superdrug.

Mascara is one of my must have make up products, I've worn it since my teens and very rarely leave the house without it on. When Maybelline products first became available in the UK they were heavily advertised with the 'Maybe she's born with it....Maybe it's Maybelline adverts which tempted me to try one of their mascaras. I really liked it and over the years have tried most of the range, one of my favourites is the Define-A-Lash mascara.
The mascara is packaged in cardboard backed plastic which allows it to be hung up in the shop. The tube is bright green with either a blue end for waterproof or clear for the non-waterproof one.
Using the mascara
It is easy to unscrew and remove the brush. It has quite a small and light brush which is slightly fatter at either end to match the shape of your eye when you use it. The brush has lots of small bristles which have the effect of combing through your lashes to separate them as it goes on. It is very flexible and so easy to use.
As I wear contact lenses a mascara that is suitable for them is a must for me and this one is, it doesn't flake bits off into your eyes like some brands can.
It claims to give you 'no clumps, separated, sensuously long lashes' and in my experience it does all this. I hate mascara that leaves clumps or your lashes stuck together and so this one is great for me. It is not designed to give volume to your lashes but I find it an ideal mascara for daytime and perfect for my work make up.
My eyelashes are mainly dark anyway but this mascara coats the fairer ends making them appear longer and as it is black version it gives my lashes overall more definition.
Getting it off
I use either cleanser or face wipes to remove this and it comes off fairly easily without too much rubbing.
This mascara is available in black or waterproof black, I always wear the latter and have never had any problems with this mascara smudging or running.
Price and availability
It is available at Boots, Superdrug and supermarkets that sell Maybelline make up. I normally buy mine in Boots when they have a 3 for 2 offer on Maybelline products to make it a bit cheaper.
For a 6ml tube it is currently (August 2012) £8.19 + delivery at www.Boots.com and www.Superdrug.com and is part of a 3 for 2 offer at both stores.
Would I recommend?
Yes, this is a great everyday mascara at an affordable price. I have been using it for years and have no plans to change.
I've always thought that maybelline was a outstanding make up brand, as i have never had any problems with the brand before, and i am always satisfied with the outcome.
The packaging attracts your attention as it is a striking green colour, it is different to other mascara products of the brand, so there is no confusion for you. The packaging of the mascara is plastic and cardboard which was easy to access. The mascara bottle itself is also all plastic and is very hard to penetrate as it has and is still lasting through my clumsiness. The brand claim that Define A Lash gives you seperate, sensously long lashes, no clumps, and i think it does exactly that!
The Define A Lash is easy to apply, as the strong brush with a flexible applicator, has soft spike bristles which adds length to each eyelash and defines them as they are seperately spaced out as well, without clumps, with the unique designed brush it takes away the clumps whilst you brush it through your eyelashes. The use of eyelash curlers compliment the mascara, as it does not effect the look of the mascara or create clumps. It is a great mascara as i found that it does not irritate my eyes, and with my skin being sensitive it is hard to find make up that does not react witth my skin. I found that the product is also easy to remove without irritationg my skin.
Although the product isn't waterproof, it doesn't run as much as other brands do, but i found it creates a bit of blackness underneath the eyes in the case of rain.
Personally i think that the product is worth the price £9.19 for a 6.5 ml bottle as it is affordable and the quality is excellent as i found that the bottle is long lasting, and for me that is a bonus as i wear lots of it nearly everyday.
Overall i rate this mascara 4 & 1/2 stars out of 5, as my only disappointment was it not being waterproof, but it turned out that it didnt effect me too much. I like the fact that the mascara lengthened eyelashes quickly, as i have really short eyelashes, and it didnt take me half the time as it use to, to get my eyelashes to a reasonable length, i loved the fact that it works great with curlers and still remained defined lashes as i dont like having thick clumpy eyelashes, and i thought the price was reasonable for what i have brought.
I would recommend this product, even though other mascara's maybe cheaper, you are paying for quality with this product.
I like trying out new mascaras, and so I have ended up with a large number that are open and in danger of exceeding their recommended use-by date. I am determind to actually use them all up before I buy anymore. Most recently, I have been finishing 2 tubes of Maybelline's Define-A-Lash mascara in black. It is available in both washable and waterproof versions, but it is the former that I am reviewing today.
WHAT IT CLAIMS TO DO
You can buy Define-A-Lash in both volumising and lengthening formulas. I have the lengthening one, which is a green tube. The other is in pink packaging and although I have it in my make up stash, I haven't tried it yet, so this review is of the legthening one only. It is said to both elongate and and accentuate the lashes, defining each one. The brush is of a special flexible design that is supposed to be shaped to the lashes. Lastly, the mascara contains an anti-clump formula. It is hypoallergenic and labelled as suitable for contact lens wearers.
APPLYING THE MASCARA
The tube is a standard mascara one, measuring 6.5ml. The bright green colour has made it quite easy to find in my bag! The brush does not look much different to others, although it is thicker than some. It seems full of bristles, but this doesn't make it rough or uncomfortable to apply. I don't think from it's appearance that it is especially shaped to my lashes but I would agree that it feels very flexible. This does have the advantage of making a light sweep of your lashes easy but it also makes it harder to re-tube, as it bends all over the place once you have used it a lot. I find it easy to reach all the lashes and even the corner ones get properly coated first time. I haven't had problems with clumping on the brush, but I have noticed that a second coat sometimes does lead to clumping on the lashes. The recommendation from Maybelline is that you don't let the mascara dry between coats, and following this does limit the clumping, but doesn't stop it entirely. As this is said to contain an anti-clumping formula, I find that disappointing.
I think the mascara wand does seperate the lashes well to a degree, but overall I don't think my lashes look especially defined. They look darker as you would expect, but only marginally longer. The effect isn't dramatic, and whilst I don't want a false lash effect most of the time, I was hoping for more of an instant impact. Comparing this to Maybelline's Lash Stiletto, I would say that it is much less lengthening and a second coat is usually necessary in order for me to be happy with the look. There is no increase in volume, but as I am using the lengthening version, I can't really expect there to be. Once on though, I haven't experienced any problems with smudging or flaking. It does last well all day - providing I don't cry of course, as I don't have the waterproof version! It is said to be washproof e.g it can be removed with soap and water. This is true, but I would much rather not use soap so close to my eyes so I use a removal wipe. This deals with it fine. I haven't suffered any irritation as a result of applying this but I don't have sensitive eyes, so I can't really judge how suitable it would be if you do.
WOULD I RECOMMEND IT?
I think the mascara is O.K, but for the price I would expect more - more length, and less clumping. I much prefer the brands Lash Stiletto which costs just a few pence extra, but it is actually cheaper per ml as it comes in a slightly larger tube. For a dramatic or false lash effect, I wouldn't use this, but for a more everyday look it is acceptable, if a bit underwhelming. I would try and see if a cheaper brand did the same job for less, as I really don't think this is anything special.

After using the Great Lash and Volume Express mascaras from Maybelline they both seem very good, and the Define-A-Lash is no exception.
The mascara comes in a lime green tube with simple white writing on it. Simple design but the colour catches your eye immediatly. As with most mascaras the lash brush is fixed to the screw top lid, but even the wand is the same shade of green. Much more interesting than the usual black colour. But as you use it more and more the green colour is covered with mascara. But still :)
The mascara is a good quality. It claims to gove no clumps, and thats true. Even when it was running out after 4/5months of daily use, i still had no clumps. You can easily apply 2 coats with no clumps, but anymore and as you would expect it gets too thick, but this is pretty true of most mascaras. A tip worth noting is that Maybelline do say that if you want to apply more than one coat do not let the mascar dry inbetween. If you follow this rule, you will be clump free.
The brush is shaped 'to the lash' and picks ups just the right amount of mascara to coat the lashes with the first application. The burch is flexible and doesnt pull the lashes which I have found some do with, as you are applying. The brush and mascara itself sweep of the lashes easily. After applying my lashes looked longer and fuller and as it defines each lash it makes it look like you have even more lashes! Amazing!
It only comes in Black and Black Waterproof and I got the standard. Would be nice to have a few more shades as I do like to use a brown mascara for a more natural look some days. The tube is priced at just over £8 in most pharmacies, and for the £8 you get 6ml. This 6ml does last ages as you do only need one of two coats so for the £8 you get months of use.
I never used to wear mascara until I discovered this a few years ago. I have quite long thick lashes anyway but I found I looked silly and too fake "made up" with the normal volumising mascara. Then I saw the advert for this product & though I'd give it a go and have never looked back.
I normally buy this from either Tescos or Boots for around the £8 mark, so it is a mid price make up.
The product comes in normal, waterproof or volumising, I just go for the plain black mascara.
It comes in a bright green tube with white writing.
The brush is rubber, rather than the normal bristle, and is flexible which easily combs moves through your lashes, seperating the lashes and coating them. It is the perfect lenght to cover your eyelashes and not touch your face. This also makes sure that the brush doesnt create clumps of mascara. The tube opening is very tight so it pulls off any excess mascara only leaving you what you need.
The mascara itself is a good consistency, thick enough to cover but not too thick to clump, it also doesnt go thicker with age. I have been using this for a number of years & have never found it to go clumpy and thick as some do after a while.
It gives a nice natural but long lashed look which is great for everyday wear, but also can be put on thicker for nights out.
However, it does smudge if you rub yours eyes much.
I first brought this mascara about three/four years ago purely because I was going through some sort of bright green phase and I loved the packaging. I have since grown of selecting products purely for their packaging colours but I do continue to use this mascara.
As I mentioned, the tube this mascara comes in is bright green, very eye catching and hard to miss when browsing make-up in stores. The application brush is also bright green although you don't really see this until the mascara is all gone. Along the side of the tube 'DEFINE-A-LASH' is written in bold, white, clear font. Again, very eye catching.
This mascara is currently sold in Boots for £8.19 per 6ml tube (giving you 32 points if you use the boots advantage card). Not exactly cheap but you can easily spend much more than that on something of equal quality. Besides, it does last a very long time! I don't wear make-up on a daily basis but this mascara probably gets used two or three times a week and lasts me about a year.
Application is quick and easy. The application brush contains a number of rows of medium length bristles about 1mm apart from one another. The brush is also extremely flexible, I've never come across one that bends as much as this one does. This brush is designed to reach every single eyelash and I honestly think it does!
The mascara itself has a typical mascara type smell to it, it's not exactly pleasant but then you can't smell it unless you actually get up close and sniff it so it doesn't really matter all that much in my opinion.
The results of this mascara are very pleasing. My eyelashes do look a lot longer after I've applied this product and I never find any clumps at all! One thing I hate about some mascaras and is when I can feel I'm wearing it, I don't like my eyelashes to feel heavy and weighed down by mascara which is another reason why I love this mascara so much. It really is very lightweight and you can't feel you're wearing it at all.
This is a great 'day time' mascara. It draws attention to your eyes and makes eyelashes look really defined without looking too over the top and fake. I don't really want jet black, thick, long eyelashes when I'm going to the shop and to work so this is great for me.
The mascara lasts all day so there is no need to re-apply once out and about and I never experience any difficulty when getting this off either. A decent eye make-up remover and this mascara comes off problem free.
This is a really good product for subtle but defined eyelashes, perfect for day to day wear and it's long lasting too! I highly recommend this mascara.
I generally find that Maybelline are a good brand, I own several of their mascaras and I have yet to be let down. Maybelline Define-A-Lash is one of the core mascaras in their collection and comes in two versions, a green tube which is the normal lengthening mascara and a pink version which is volumising. I am reviewing the green lengthening version, which can be bought for around £8.00.
The mascara claims to give the wearer clump free length and perfect definition and comes in three shades/types; black, brown and waterproof. The brush is designed to be flexible, allowing you to coat each lash fully. I would defnitely agree the brush is more flexible then many other mascaras, but as it doesn't really bend unless you apply a lot of pressure to it I don't think it is flexible when applying. It is easy to coat each lash, but that is due to the wand not being overly thick or long. The bristles are made of a rubber type material and are not too long which is great for allowing you to get the brush right into the inner corner of the eye.
Maybelline state that the mascara has a built in clump remover, which allows for clump free application. I would definitely agree there are no clumps with this mascara which is one of its main positives. The brush has the majority of mascara taken off of it as you remove it from the tube which allows for you to coat the lashes with a reasonable amount of mascara, without there being too much on the wand. The mascara is also very buildable which means you can apply several coats without the product clumping also. The mascara builds very well on top of itself and does give amazing length, especially after two or three layers!
The formula of the mascara is another plus point for me, it is not too dry which means there is no flaking of the product. The mascara has an almost gel like consistency which I prefer as it means it is neither too dry nor too wet. It has also been ophthalmologically tested and as such is suitable for contact lens wearers. In terms of ease of removal of the mascara, I have been able to remove this easily using many different eye make up removers. There is no panda eye effect with this one! I am not sure however, about the removal of the waterproof version as I purchased the black non waterproof variety.
Finally, I really like the packaging of this mascara. It comes in a green tube with a simple screw top lid with the wand attached to it. The packaging is very sturdy, so could take some bashing around in a handbag! The packaging generally looks quite smooth and sleek and I really like the use of green as it means it's easy to find in my makeup bag/drawer.
Overall 5/5 for me!
As with all make-up, I like to experiment with different brands and products. Recently I tried Maybelline's Define-A-Lash to replace another smudgy, ridiculously clumpy mascara that, more often than not, ended up on my skin than on my eyelashes.
I bought the Brown version of the mascara (accidentally, I might tell you), but as soon as I started using it I did realise it was actually rather good! As promised, there are no clumps on the brush (which doesn't necessarily mean no clumps on lashes, I miraculously did manage to achieve a few clumps though being quite erratic when applying it), and the brush itsself seems very appropriate. The fact that the brush curves and bends to the lashes definitely helps coat those hard-to-reach eyelashes in a reasonable amount of mascara.
The mascara tends to last through the day pretty well although I have noticed that by the end of a day, I do have a little bit of panda-eye going on which does slightly ruin the mascara for me. I'm not quite sure if it's something in my genetics or if I'm just unlucky in my choice of mascaras, but I do find that most mascaras do it to me, so I'm not going to hold it against Maybelline too much.
In conclusion, Maybelline have definitely created a winner here - this mascara does everything it needs to do, and it does it perfectly. Whilst a lick of mascara creates the perfect look for day, a heavier, more noticable look can be created by applying a few more coats and massaging it into the lashes with the brush from the roots outward.
This is a fantastic mascara and is my favourite mascara. It makes my lashes super long and full looking.
I love how the wand has flexability therefore you can reach all corners of the eye and create an amazing look. I wear this mascara for both daytime and evening and its great. The design of the wand means there are very few clumps. Oh and it lasts ALL day long... without becoming bitty.
One dissadvantage is it can be a little messy to apply due to the flexability of the wand however i dont mind this at all. You just have to clean the tube and that problem is solved.
I often get compliments on the legnth of my eyelashes when using this mascara and would reccomend it too a friend. Infact after seeing the effect it had on my lashes my mum went out and bough it too. It is a brilliant mascara, a few coats of this and your lashes will look stunning.
I had this mascara before my previous max factor miracle worker mascara and i have to give it due credit, maybelline have made a nice everyday mascara with a smooth forulation and it provides good sepearation without clumping which makes your lashes look longer with a lovely brush and it glides onto your lashes with ease. I did notice that I would occasionally get panda eyes which is a bit annoying when youre out and about so if i were to buy this product again i'd go for the waterproof version. It doesnt do much for volume but i suppose thats not what its designed for really, so if an every day mascara is what you're after for around a fiver you can't really go wrong with this one. However i would advise not to wear it to a movie with a sad ending or you will end up with it down your cheeks!
This mascara is really very good value for money. I believe I bought it for around £5 on an offer in Superdrug, and it's served me well.
I have it in brown. I usually use black, but this brown is a very natural-looking sort and does not look unusually light as others I have used have done. It comes in a green, 6.5ml container with a plastic 'flexi' brush.
The brush is one of the best things about this mascara. It doesn't clump, and it doesn't get all dried up in the brush or anything like that. Because the brush is basically a plastic tip with a few 'spikey' bumps on it, it doesn't have lots of dried mascara on it (as some of the brushes sometimes accumulate). Instead, it sweeps onto your lashes smoothly, and it's very easy to build up - coating each lash one by one. It gives good length as well as separation.
It's not however a miracle worker. The volume is not amazing on it. However, I've tried a lot of mascaras and this one is the closest to 'good' that I've ever had. Best of all, it doesn't dry out too quickly (as some of the more expensive ones I've tried have done) lasting till you throw it away. It also is easy to remove. I would recommend this.
I read and watch a lot of make-up 'look' tutorials, and having heard nothing but good things about this mascara I decided to replace my old one with it. I will admit that I didn't get on with it at first, the formula felt slightly sticky when applied, and I was disappointed that despite the claim of having a built-in clump remover to ensure there would be no clumps, I found it clumped and smudged easily. However, after a few uses (and the extra practice with the new style of brush) this stopped and now I am in love with it.
Even without using eyelash curlers this mascara makes eyelashes look long and glossy to easily create an understated, sophisticated look that can be worn day or night. The unique flexible applicator reaches every individual lash (even in those hard to reach corners) to separate and give definition which lasts all day... and night! With this new rubbery applicator only one coat is needed to open up the eyes, meaning the product lasts longer and causes less build up than most other mascaras. If desired, you can add more layers of the product while it is still 'wet' to create a more dramatic look without clumps, flaking or need for a lash comb. For those looking to add volume to their lashes, it may be wise to invest in the "Define-A-Lash Volume" instead - this comes in an attractive pink tube. Another attraction of this applicator is that I've yet to poke myself in the eye with it, when I would constantly do so with the traditional bristle brushes.
The product is unnecessarily packaged in cardboard and plastic, which isn't ideal if you've just run out of mascara and want to use it as soon as you find the nearest mirror! However, the striking green colour makes it stand out and easy to find and identify in any make-up bag, no matter what the size - gone are the days of tipping all the contents out in order to find a generic black mascara tube.
This mascara comes in shades of Black and Brown - some may find the limited shades a letdown, however for people like me who only buy Black mascara it doesn't pose a problem.
The formula is easily removed without the need for thorough scrubbing which can cause irritation and redness - so I would say that if you're feeling weepy it would probably be best to opt for the waterproof version, or else it will smudge and create the dreaded 'panda' look.
At around £7 (sometimes less, as shops such as Boots tend to have Maybelline products on offer) this mascara is very affordable compared to others on the market. I would recommend it to anybody looking for a no-fuss, decent everyday mascara.
Lengthening, zero-clump mascara / The unique shaped-to-the-lash brush is ultra flexible, designed to reach and accentuate each and every lash / Define-a-lash mascara has a lightweight formula and unique built-in clump remover leaves zero clumps on brush for zero clumps on lashes /
