One of my favourite brands, Maybelline, wowed me with excitement for a new BB cream to be coming out into drugstores, this made me happy because 1, I get to earn some extra points on my trusty Advantage card/Superdrug card, and 2, something new to try without causing too many blemishes like foundations.
My first application was a bit a of a disappointment as I was expecting more coverage from the Maybelline section, of course, a BB cream is like a tinted moisturiser, but there would obviously be some kind of coverage, it's in the name 'beauty/blemish balm'.
On the other hand, it does have a delightful light smell and a good texture however, there isn't much in the tube, especially for a price of £7.99 a bottle, I wouldn't say it's pricey but I want to feel like I'm buying something that's worth that much, after all I was a student at that time.
Overall, I enjoyed using it although it wasn't much of a cover up and there are only 2 shades. I would recommend this is people with dry/very dry skin. As for my oily/combination folk, stay away!

The Maybelline Jade Dream Fresh BB Cream is available for GBP 7.99.
The BB Cream comes in a white tube with a white screw-cap. On the tube are the product name and the product information. The BB Cream contains 30 ml.
The BB Cream is described as follows. "Feel BB Fresh! Our 1-step wonder for a dream skin day, every day. 8-in-1 Skin Perfector. Perfect looking skin instantly! Available in 4 fresh tones. Why You'll Love It: Imperfections look blurred. A natural looking glow. Fresh feel. Compliments skin tone. Skin looks smooth. Hydrates. Protects with SPF 30. Oil free, non greasy."
The BB Cream has a creamy texture. The BB Cream can be applied well and evenly. The BB Cream absorbs well. The skin looks uneven and unnatural, the BB Cream gives the skin an unnatural skin tone. The BB Cream does not cover irregularities, as the covering power is not enough. The BB Cream does not moisturize the skin, the skin does not dry out. The BB Cream does not leave a greasy film on the skin.
The BB Cream has a fresh scent that cannot be noticed after application.
I cannot recommend the Maybelline Jade Dream Fresh BB Cream, as the BB Creamm does not cover irregularities. The skin tone looks unnatural, the BB Cream does not leave a greasy film on the skin.

I love Maybelline products in general but hadn't got into their BB creams so purchased this universal glow fresh dream BB cream on amazon for just over £4 for a 30ml tube. This BB cream claims to offer '8 benefits in 1' as listed below:
1 - Creates a natural glow - a ghastly fake looking orange comes out of this tube and initially I was extremely worried. I tried it for the first time when I wasn't going very far that day! However, after the rather orange colour is applied and sinks in,it actually starts to give a natural looking sun kissed glow, which teamed with a little cream blusher actually starts to make me look very fresh and 'glowing'!
2 - Compliments skin tone - again, once that initial orange look sinks in, I find it actually makes my skin look fresh and gives my generally pale skin look like I've just returned from the Med!
3 - SPF30 - not so noticeable at this time of year, but of particular benefit I would expect in the spring and summer. However, anything that helps protect skin at all times of the year is an obvious advantage.
4 - Hydrates all day - this product is not runny or oily, in fact it feels very different to every other BB product I have applied. However, I have been using this product for a few weeks now alongside some remaining tubes of other branded BB creams and I can say that my skin certainly does not feel dry after I wash my face at night having had this Maybelline on my skin all day. The weather hasn't got too cold yet but so far so good.
5- Blurs imperfections - I would think this is one area this product falls down on. I have had a few small spots on my chin recently and I really found that this BB cream did not help hide these spots unlike some other B creams I have used.
6 - Oil free/Non greasy - this is very true of this product. In fact it feels very different to other BB creams. There is certainly no oily/greasy feeling.
7 - Looks visibly smooth - After applying this product and for a good duration of the day, much longer than other BB creams, my skin (bar the few odd imperfections mentioned above) looks smooth and in super smooth condition.
8 - Feels fresh - I wouldn't necessarily agree with the product feeling fresh, in fact it has a very different feeling to other creams on the market that I have tried.
All in all, this is a very enduring cream that does leave skin looking fresh and smooth during the day as well as giving a lovely sun kissed glow. Despite my initial orange glow reservations I have come to really like this product!
WHAT IS IT?
This is BB cream that is made by Maybelline. I have started to use BB cream only recently and I bought this one because it says it is a product that will do 8 different things for my skin and I thought that sounded very good.
HOW DO YOU USE IT?
You apply the BB cream in a thin layer to the skin on your face. It has got moisturiser in it and Maybelline say that you can use this without using moisturiser first but I do not think it is moisturising enough to stop using my morning face cream.
WHAT I THINK
I am happy with this BB cream and it is everything that I think I could need from a product like this. I have got mine in the light shade and it is suited to my skin because it is tinted only so you do not have to be so careful to match with your skin tone.
It is quite thick but it is easy to apply so you have only to use a small bit, if you put too much on it is obvious then that you are wearing it and the reason for using BB cream is to look natural like your skin is not flawed.
When you apply a small amount it does alot of what it says on the back of the tube but I do not think it has got 8 different benefits to it and Maybelline have split up many of the benefits to make it look like it will do more. That is not sensible I don't think because this is a very good product and I think they should not try too hard to sell it to people because the quality of it speaks for itself.
It has got factor 30 suncream in it and I am happy about that.
I can not feel that I am wearing it after I have applied this BB cream because it is very light and does not feel heavy like foundation. You can apply foundation over it because your skin is with a normal feel with this BB cream and it gives you a more smooth base than if you was applying your foundation to bare skin.
This BB cream costs £7.99 and I think that is value because it is more nice to use than alot of the other BB creams I have tried and that includes 2 that was alot more expensive than this.
5 Dooyoo Stars.
Our 1-step wonder for a dream skin day, every day.
8-in-1 Skin Perfector.
Perfect looking skin instantly!
Available in 4 fresh tones.
I had never tried a BB cream before but this summer, as i had a little bit of natural colour and was fed up of applying foundation every day I decided to try one. As Maybelline are my 'go to' brand for facial cosmetics, they were my first choice. I picked up the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream in 'Medium 2'. It was priced at £4.99 in Boots, but also under the 3for2 offer which made it a good deal.
The package is a nice size tube, in simple white to cream fade design. The BB cream comes in 4 shades - Light, Medium 2, Dark 3, and Universal Glow 4. The cream claims to be an 8 in 1 Skin Perfector, offering, a natural glow, fresh feel, smooth skin, hydration, blurring of imperfections, oil free so non greasy and the added benefit of a 30SPF.
The BB cream comes out of the tube easily with a light squeeze, the cream is quite runny, but has a nice silky feel when applied. You do not need much as it applies well and gives decent coverage. Coverage wise, its not as good as a foundation, but then BB creams are designed to be lighter anyway. It does still make you feel like you have enough makeup on without feeling heavy, or greasy. It does even out skin tone and conceal some minor imperfections which is all I wanted from the BB cream.
I do however feel that unlike a foundation, the BB cream seems to sink in a dissapear throughout the day and by the time I get in from work there is clearly nothing left of it.
I am still on my first tube so it has lasted me all Summer being used most days so goes a long way for your money. If you want a light coverage with an added SPF then its worth a try, it feels nice, is light and non greasy and gives a natural glow, just don't expect it to last all day or match up to the coverage of a full foundation
Before purchasing this Maybelline BB cream I had previously used the 17 BB cream, I was fairly impressed with that cream so I was eager to try out more BB creams as they seemed to be doing a great job. I decided to purchase this particular one due to the fact that I read decent reviews about it and Maybelline seems to have decent products.
I purchased this from Boots when there was a '3 for 2' offer on, I can not remember the exact price for this but I know that it was not too overpriced.
As with many BB creams there are a very limited amount of colours available. There were only 2 for this particular one in Boots and I purchased the darker one of the two. The colour of the BB cream was fairly suited to my skin and seemed to blend in well, which was pretty good considering there were not many shades to choose from.
The cream itself, when applied to the face, has a very smooth application. It seems to cover the smaller blemishes on my skin and blends in nicely to give an even skin tone. This product would be especially good for those who do need too much coverage and just need a quick fix.
The consistency of the BB cream is quite runny and thin which made it quite difficult when applying it to your skin because it would be hard getting the right amount of cream out of the bottle.
I love trying new BB/CC creams especially because they are usually quite inexpensive and can often be impressive. I was recommended this particular one by my sister who liked it and thought it would work well for me. I purchased this whilst on holiday in America, however this shouldn''t really make any difference to the product. I also like Maybelline products and was excited to try. I was excited to try it as I was looking for slight coverage but with a lightweight feel for those days where you don''t want to put a whole face of make up on. I first tried it whilst in America and for me it certainly wasn''t working, the colour was pretty dark and I found that this was building up in the drier areas of my face - which looked awful! I thought it could possibly have been due to the climate over there and so I held on to it, in order to try it when I arrived back home to England. I was really hoping that it would work nicely but it just didn''t seem to adapt to my skin, and I wouldn''t say my skin was that awkward, I sometimes have drier areas. Unfortunately this product wasn''t for me but as we know, all skin types are different and I''m sure this could be perfect for some people - like my sister :)! Overall I would perhaps recommend this product to those who don''t mind spending a little bit to see if this product was for them, but if you have skin that can sometimes be on the dry side, I would go for something else. :) Also just to add: I hardly used this cream at all and the bottle got in such a mess, around where the lid is and where the bottle cap screws on so just be careful not to leave this alone in a handbag etc.
I tried the Maybelline BB Cream when I got a number of free sachets from magazines and the like. I got loads of sachets and they ended up lasting about two weeks! The full name of the product is Dream Pure BB Cream. It usually costs around GBP6.99 from stores including Boots and Superdrug, which I think is a really good price. It comes in two shades, Light and Medium. I got samples in Light. I am super pale and even the lightest shade of any foundation is normally too dark for me, but although I had to be careful with this as applying too much did look a bit dark, I was able to wear it so long as I put it on sparingly. This also had the positive effect of making it last longer, as I only used a teensy amount each time. The product is a light, fairly runny, foundation-like BB Cream with light but decent coverage. I did have to use moisturiser underneath, because although I have oily skin, this product alone wasn''t enough and I needed a bit more of a substantial base. The BB Cream made my skin look smoother, brighter and more even-toned. I normally have pretty good skin anyway, so I was fine with the lighter coverage, and I didn''t look too ?made-up''. The cream contains SPF 15 too, which is handy as it means I didn''t need to bother with a separate sun cream on a normal day (though on a warm day if I was outside a lot then SPF 15 wouldn''t cut it). Using this product, I found I had to use much less face powder and reapply it much less often, as it helped to keep my shine under control. Overall, this is a good BB cream. I don''t know if I would buy it again as there are other products that better match my skin colour, but if this isn''t an issue for you, definitely give this one a try.
I really like maybelline products and I saw this the other day and thought i would give it ago, I recently came back of holiday and had developed a nice bit of colour on my face so I didn't want to be using a heavy foundation but I still needed a bit of coverage. I saw the bb creme and tested it in store, I didn't think it would do much but I bought it anyway just to try it properly at home, well I put the product on blending in with my fingertips as the product suggests. I noticed that I still had my fresh suntan glow but I had the coverage that I desperately needed the product was lovely, nobody could tell I had anything on my face other then a bit of bronzed, the creme didn't feel heavy on my face and it didn't look like I was caked in foundation, only downside is there doesn't seem to much for the cost , but I suppose for the nice light coverage it is worth it.
I never really rated foundation. I grew up seeing the girls at school looking all orange and patchy and I really didn't want to have that look. So I didn't wear foundation for a long time, but never felt like I was confident with my looks. Then I was introduced to Maybelline BB foundation and my entire approach on foundation was changed. All you need to do is put a little bit on each section of the face and rub it in like cream. Once its all rubbed in the finish is perfect, no patches and it definitely doesn't leave you looking orange. The foundation comes in a variety of colours, so matches most, if not all skin types and leaves you look magazine perfect. Definitely worth a buy for woman who are still struggling to find the right foundation for them. I swear by this product and will continue to use it in my daily routine.
I have heard about bb cream from many places such as my sister and different youtube channels. One of the most popular bb creams used is "dream fresh" by maybelline.
BB cream is an innovative new product which contains a mixture of moisturiser, foundation, concealer and SPF. I first heard about it from my sister who said it was such an amazing product and did a great job, but at first I thought it was just a tinted moisturiser with a fancy name. However tinted moisturisers do not contain concealer, this means that bb cream contains more.
My personal experience & opinion
I thought I would try it out just to see what was so special, so I bought the maybelline one as it seemed most popular. I have to admit it was better that I thought it gives a bit of light coverage and does makes my skin glow slightly. Some people have told me that you need to set bb cream with a powder however I am unsure about that. I guess bb cream is great for everyday use when you are only looking for light coverage however if you are looking for more coverage then I would suggest using a foundation instead.
The only downside that I've faced with this product is that it is very runny and comes out of the tube itself, this wastes the bb cream as it is not used. Perhaps better packaging could be put in place.
Overall I think this product is good for everyday use however I would use a different product for more coverage.
I like cream foundation as I can just put a small amount on my finger tips and then smooth over my face. I like to buy new products and try out innovative things on the beauty market. This was for sale in Boots and although it has been out for a while it is a relatively new product to me.
==Price and availability==
This is a cheap, cheap, cheap product at £4.49 however it is on offer for half price at the minute. It could be time to stock up if you like it but I personally do not find it that brilliant.
The product comes in a 30ml tube and it comes in a variety of shades. It seems like Maybelline are trying to create a BB cream that is mixed with a foundation. The colour has a slight shimmer to it in the tube but on the skin it just all blends into one. The colour I have is Golden Beige. This is not orange or anything and the colour is actually quite pleasant. The colour is slightly lighter than the colour of the actual cream which is something worth noting but it is better than being too dark.
I find this to be ok but I suffer from uneven skin tone and this just does not give me the matt platform I am looking for. It goes on nicely, its smooth and it is easy to blend in and apply however it seems to be absorbed very quickly. I am not overly impressed with this and I have to use it in conjunction to my powder. It is not a good replacement for a BB cream either as it does not do the whole 'light reflecting' thing that you would expect. I think the advantages of this are that it is cheap and if you are looking for a quick replacement that is of a decent shade then you will find that this is an excellent product for a short term fix. I was just expecting a little bit more however.
I think the packaging, the ease of application and the colour are big plus points but it is let down in terms of longevity. The product does not last long on my skin and it seems to be soaking quickly into my skin. I find that I apply this with my finger tips and rub it over my skin, blending into my skin and then I need to apply powder on the top. This means that it takes longer to get ready and not really what I expected. But... what can you expect for £2.
My mother bought this for herself,
once I decided to try a bit.
I have quite patchy skin some parts oily some parts dry.
This bb cream gave my skin quite a filmy type feeling.
Wasn't very good coverage so had to but foundation on top.
Also didn't last very well in the heat sweated right off so had to be reapplied.
I usually enjoy Maybelline's products, but sadly this one was abit of a disappointment.
Also being black the colour range was lacking a teeny bit.
Unlike dream matte mousse and the lengthening mascara, this BB cream is
For one skin type in particular if you have oily skin this product is not for you.
Also if you're looking for one with good coverage again not for you.
I'm not saying it won't work for everyone in my opinion however
It didn't work for me.
I recommend sleek for a more full coverage look and a better range of colours.
Lucky this is another drug store brand and is easily accessible at places like superdrug.
I'm not much of a foundation wearer. I've never had problems with my skin or spots and whenever I wear it I find it a bit too heavy and a bit of a nuisance.
When bb cream first appeared on the scene, I thought it was a load of rubbish. Just another fad that claims to work miracles and instead just overcharges you for some cream. But then I was told that actually it's quite good. Maybe not a miracle cream like they claim, but worth a go. Like I say, I don't really suffer with my skin, but it's certainly not flawless, so on a night out or special occasion I like to make an effort and make my face look nice. Usually this just involves a bit of blusher and bronzer, but one day I decided I would try this bb cream. In boots I went for the Maybelline brand because it's trusted and it was only £7.99 which I think is reasonable for something that claims to be so good. I went for the medium tone because I'm not pale, but I'm not really dark.
I use it after moisturiser and before bronzer and blusher. I don't use any other products on my face. The cream is a similar colour to foundation, but a bit more runny. It spreads easily all over the face and blends in really well. You don't get tide marks on your neck, because it blends really well. It does occasionally rub off if I rub my face soon after and leaves a mark on clothes, but it washes off easily if this happens.
This bb cream claims to be 8 in 1 and here are its 8 claims
1. Creates a natural glow
2. Compliments skin tone
3. SPF30 UV Protection
4. Hydrates all day
5. Blurs imperfections
6. Oil-free, non-greasy
7. Looks visibly smooth.
8. Feels fresh
And I can honestly say it meets all of those claims for me! I was impressed with how much better my skin looked. It's like a lightweight foundation - it doesn't really look like you're covered in make-up, it makes it look natural. Since it only comes in 3 colour options, you have less choice than foundation, but I don't think it's as crucial to have a perfect match because it blends into your skin. It also hides my bags quite well.
The SPF is a great bonus for me. I love to be tanned, but everyday protection is really good at keeping your skin looking young and keeping it healthy.
The tube lasted me about 3 months of wearing it maybe 3 or 4 times a week and I went out and bought another. And I will keep buying it I think because it evens out my skin tone and generally just makes my face look nicer.
5/5 because it does meet its 8 claims in my opinion!
I bought the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream because I wanted to see if BB creams were actually any good. In the shop (Superdrug) I decided to go for this one as it had the best texture and colour out of all the BB creams in the shop at the time. It cost £7.99 and was on 3 for 2. It is available in chemists like Boots and Superdrug and any supermarkets which sell Maybelline makeup.
There are 4 shades available, light, medium, dark and universal glow. I personally found the universal glow to be a bit orange when I was testing it in the shop. There aren't lots of shades available like with foundations because while has some colour, it isn't actually a foundation. The packaging is a white tube which fades into another colour at the top which represents the shade of BB cream inside. It has white and pink writing and comes in a plastic, squeezable tube with a lid on the bottom.
The bottle states that it's an 8 in 1 product, the 8 features are;
Creates a natural glow
Compliments skin tone
SPF30 UV Protection
Hydrates all day
Looks visibly smooth.
So, does it actually do what it says it does? Well, it definitely creates a natural glow. It adds a hint of colour but also lets your skintone show through, the shades aren't dull and it isn't a matte product. As for 'compliments skin tone' I think this is true, even though there are only 4 shades, they blend very well and aren't unnatural looking when you apply them. I am not sure how effective the added SPF protection actually is as you don't apply a thick layer of this BB cream. It definitely does hydrate all day, it's very moisturizing but not heavy at all, it adds softness to the face and smooths the skin. It blurs imperfections by adding a little bit of colour and coverage BUT if you're looking for heavy coverage this probably isn't the right product for you. If you have problem areas then I'd still recommend this product along with some concealer because this does give lovely effects. It evens the skin tone and 'blurs imperfections' is very accurate. It lightly covers any 'imperfections' and blends that area with the rest of the face. It isn't an oily or thick and heavy texture, it is a light and refreshing consistency. When you apply it, it seems to dissapear but leaves you with more even, smoothed out looking skin. While it is very moisturising and hydrating, it doesn't give a greasy, shiny or oily look to your face at all. It isn't matte, just a very natural look. It doesn't feel horrible on your face, it isn't heavy or irritating at all which is a huge plus point.
To apply this, you simply squeeze out a little bit and apply it to your face as if you're applying a face cream. It glides onto the skin very easily and has a nice, light texture. The texture is more like a moisturizer and not like a foundation although it is coloured. It blends into the skin very easily and it's not something that you have to be very careful about applying evenly like with foundation as it blends to your skin tone so well. This doesn't go flakey or build up in certain areas like a lot of foundations can.
I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a natural look, or anyone who wants something that will give them a bit of coverage and even the skin tone but without giving a made-up look. It has the benefit of blurring blemishes and giving a more even tone to the face but without the annoying problems that foundations can bring.
