I have always struggled with foundation, as someone with spot prone skin I find that I have a really hard time finding a foundation that does not make my spots worse or because my skin is also combination, slide off my face almost as fast as I apply it. A friend suggested this moose a while ago and although I did keep looking at it I kept putting it back on the shelf because of the idea of moose! I eventually crumbled and bought it last year.
The product ....
The product is a foundation that is actually a light fluffy mousse. The idea is that it is light and glides on the skin smoothly but is light enough that it allows the skin to breath.
The Packing ....
The product comes in a small glass container with a twist plastic lid.
To Use ....
I found that this product applied best with my fingers as opposed to my foundation brush, when I applied it with my brush it went on too heavy and I was not able to get my blending right. With fingers it was really simple, just scoop a small amount out and gently blend onto my skin and it did go on really nicely.
My Opinion ....
Sadly although this foundation went on easily enough, I found the coverage was poor, it caused awful spots and it walked off my face in about 2 hours even with a base and setting powder. I think for someone with good skin that just needs a light coverage this might be a decent foundation though.
This is currently £7.69 for a pot but I paid £4.99 for mine in a local store which was good value I feel fora foundation.
A light foundation but not suitable for all skin types, it advertised that it would not cause spots but did make mine worse and slipped off my face fast. I would only suggest this for people with dry skin who do not suffer from spots.
I have recently been obsessed with foundations and have been trying more and more in the last couple of months. This was one that I have been looking at for a while and finally decided to give it a go.
The first thing I love is the packaging. The jar it comes in, makes it look more expensive than it is. This may be chunkier than other similar products, but this is just due to it having more product inside.
The idea is that this is a mousse foundation that has a very matte finish. This has been out for years and there have been varying opinions of it over this time. The first thing I noticed about this foundation is that it is a little dense.
I have tried a number of mousse type foundations and most of these feel lighter during application. My biggest fear was that this product may appear cakey (due to the dense feeling) on the skin. I did not need to worry. This product is very blendable. As this is a probably a medium finish to start with, you may wish to build it up and this definitely possible here. This is best applied with a beauty blender type product.
Does it last my 13 hour days?
As much as I would expect, yes. It does disappear a little from my nose, but it otherwise it wears quite evenly. I am very impressed.
This cost me £9.99 from Superdrug, but you can find this cheaper on amazon and if you wait for a deal it can be even cheaper. I feel this is definitely worth the price.
The shade range with all Maybelline foundation is a little off. I am normally an ivory with other brands (this runs this tiniest bit light normally), but with Maybelline I am normally porcelain and they are slightly to dark for me.
I first started using this product as one of my first foundations this was about 4 years ago and I was young so my skin was normal type with no acne or anything so it used to glide on and give my skin a flawless look. After remembering how good it was back then I went out and bought it again but since i used dove soap on my face to remove my makeup my skin is really dry so it cakes on my face and even though I use the lightest color porcelain it still comes up as orange on my face.
- good value for money for normal skin it is an amazing foundation
- sold in most stores
- flawless, matte finish for normal skin type
- sells out quickly
- bad for any other skin type than normal
- slides off my face after ive put moisturizer on even if i let it dry
- orangey look
- un hygenic packaging
I think this is great value for money and for a first foundation but other skin types like me would struggle to use this foundation as I prefer liquid as its easier to work with.
When this first came out it was all I used however as I got older I moved onto other brands. I decided to re purchase this and give it another try after a good few years break. The whipped texture of the foundation is lovely it feels silky to touch. I tried to apply this with a foundation brush however ended up finding it easier to apply using my fingers. I found it was hard to judge how much I was applying and the pot did not seem to last as long as I would have liked. The coverage provided was acceptable however it did not seem to stay on my face all day but I think that's my skin type. I found the pot was useful to get the product out quickly on the mornings I was in a rush and also meant that there was no wastage as you can get every last scrap of product out. This is not my favourite foundation but is defiantly not the worst I have used. I am probably not going to re purchase.
I first saw dram matte mousse foundation on tv, I remember going into college and seeing some girls in class useing and talking about how good it was so I thought why not try it out. I payed 5.99 for it at superdrug which I feel is good price for a drugstore foundation. The next day I used the foundation and the coverage was good , my spots and blemishes were all covered which was great. I used this foundation for a few days before I noticed my face was becoming ghostly and patchy. At first I thought this was because I didn't use a primer underneath my makeup. However my friends who also purchased the matte mousse makeup with primer also mention that they hade the same effects on their faces. Even thought this foundation did provide me with some coverage it didn't make my skin look flawless and I would never buy this again.
I'm not sure if it was the cleanser I was pairing it with or perhaps the method I was using, most likely due to my sensitive skin, but this broke me out quite badly on the cheek area. However, this might not be the case with other people - It creates a gorgeous, flawless finish that appears matte (hence the name) and smooth (again, ha). It does live up to it's name, but it would be so much nicer if it didn't break me out; it's quite sad but apart from that it blends beautifully, given the right primer, moisturizer etc, and it's what I used when I was going out to an event, party etc because of the full coverage and lasting power. I have combination skin so maybe it's suited to other kinds and I'm sure it would work wonders for others. It's just a shame it broke me out!
I used this product in school because everyone used it as being a teenage girl the more makeup the better but now I'm slightly older, I do keep returning to this product from time to time. I think the price is reasonable although I think it has increased since I first bought it. The biggest problem I have with this foundation is that it really doesn't help my skin. I have combination skin but this foundation completely dries my skin out. It's fantastic for when I have spots as it has the same effect but I'm outdoors a lot and the wind is bad enough without my makeup giving me dry skin. Although it does make up for it as it has a range of shades, it's easy to apply and it gives full coverage as well as being easy to blend into difficult areas. I know a lot of people have said it's too cakey but in my opinion it's only too cakey when too much has been applied. All round I like this foundation it just makes me moisturize a fair bit more.
I used this product when I went too school because it is what my friends used but I found that it made my skin look dry during the day and too get a decent coverage you had too use a lot off the product and without a income this became very expensive! I changed the foundation in which I used too a different one within the same brand (maybelline) but as I got older I decided to give it another go and now use it as a top coat to my foundation because I find it has a better matte finish than using a powdered product it also gives the skin the most amazing soft feeling and is not greasy like a lot off foundation products!
I am undecided on this product because I do not like it on its own but I find it amazing as a top coat and would highly recommend it to anyone that doesn't like powder.
I remember having this foundation a few years back now . As i remember i loved this product for a very long time and then i changed to a loreal foundation as i found liquid was better for my skin. The maybelline dream matte foundation is very thick and i think i changed to liquid because it made my skin look cakey. If you put a small layer on your face for the whole day and don't touch up at all, then it won't look like you have a mud mask on. If your like me and touch up your foundation throughout the day then i wouldn't recommend this foundation. I have pale skin, i tried a few of the shades sand, beige, cameo, ivory, and they were all too dark for me. I looked like an orange, especially looking back at old photos when i wore this foundation...embrassing moments. I couldn't find the right shade to match my skin tone. In loreal and rimmel foundations i al always go for ivory shade and it matches fine. I do like the packaging a lot and i like the idea of it being a cream mousse but just wish would match my skin tone and didn't look so cakey. It does last a long time and its nice you can see how much your using and when you run out to get more. With liquid bottles i can never tell if i am running out. Also its in a pot so doesn't get messy and the lid is securely tight when in your hand bag so doesn't make a mess. I would like to try this foundation again , hoping i find a perfect shade match.
I first bought this foundation as I was recommended it by as a friend as the best foundation they had ever used. When I saw it the first thing I noticed was how little you get for a quite expensive price at around £7.50. Although it was quite expensive I still decide to buy it as I needed a new foundation.
When I first tried it out I was very impressed! I found it much better than my old foundation and that it worked just as good as my camo make up and that is brilliant. It covers pimples really well and makes them almost unnoticeable which is a huge bonus for me. I have been using it for a few months now and I have fallen in love with it.
A thing I love about it is how soft my skin feels when I apply it. It is so smooth and doesn't make my skin feel greasy unlike some foundations I have used in the past.
I particularly like this foundation due to the large range of shades and tones it is available in. I have a very light skin tone and I cannot always find a foundation that would match my skin and not make me look orange, but this one has a few shades that were light enough for me to choose from. There are also plenty of other shades from so I'm sure there is the perfect match for most people.
A disadvantage this foundation is that the price of it is quite high for the amount you get per tub. This is very disappointing that I have to spend more than I used to although I do prefer this foundation much more than ones I have used in the past so I do admit, it is worth it.
I would recommend this foundation because I have tried lots of foundations trying to find the right one for me and this is the one that has made my skin feel the softest and the least greasy and has covered pimples the best.
Overall it is a brilliant foundation and I can't imagine myself using anything else after using it because I have enjoyed using it so much.
i hope this was helpful.
I have used dream matte mousse foundation religiously for about five years now. I have on occasion tried other foundations, but have always found myself returning to this one.
I have sensitive skin, and I'm often prone to breakouts but have never had any problems from using this foundation, even though I use it daily. When you apply it, it doesn't feel heavy and you don't look like you have caked your face in foundation. Although, like any foundation, ensure that you have selected the correct shade for your skin tone to ensure an even coverage.
As a student I do find this foundation quite pricey, although compared to some make up ranges it is reasonably priced. My advice is to bulk buy the foundation when it is on offer, often superdrug has three for the price of two on maybelline products. I take advantage of this and buy three pots and save around £6 a time.
Ever since I was a teenager I've had big issues and been very insecure about my skin. I wouldn't and still won't leave the house without foundation on. I'm extremely self conscious which is why it is so important to me to use a decent foundation.
I use maybelline dream matte mousse in the shade ivory.
WHAT IS IT?
Maybelline dream matte mouse comes in a little glass pot. It states that it is made from a revolutionary whipped formula, providing an air-soft, perfect matte finish coverage, with a weightless feel. I can vouch for this. The foundation is smooth and creamy in consistency and not too thick and heavy.
The foundation is available in 16 different shades.
The shades available are;
I go for the natural ivory but after testing a few its its to colour match the right shade of foundation to your skin type.
As I mentioned above I'm very self conscious and need a decent foundation. Maybelline dream matte mousse is great. As it is so smooth and creamy it goes on easily and blends really well to give you great coverage revolutionary whipped formula, providing an air-soft, perfect matte finish coverage, with a weightless feel. It doesn't feel heavy or caked on like some other foundations do. It looks flawless and lasts really well almost all the time. The only time I seem to have a problem with it is if it's quite hot and then it doesn't seem to last as well but I'm guessing this is to be expected in the heat... right?!
The ivory colour blends and matches with my skin colour really well and with so many shades available there's bound to be a shade that's suitable for everyone.
Maybelline dream matte mouse is available in the beauty section of most supermarkets and drug stores like boots and superdrug. It is usually about £7 - £7.50 ish a pot (obviously varies from store to store)but is often on various deals and offers like 3 for 2 so its best to stock up whilst offers are on if you can.
Whilst this seems pretty pricey for such a small pot it lasts for ages so isn't bad value for money really.
This little pot is amazing. The mousse is lightweight and gives you a great smooth finish. Lasts well nearly all of the time, with exception of sometimes in the heat, which is why I'll knock 1 star off.
4/5 dooyoo stars for me.
Thanks for reading my review, hope it was useful

'Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation'
I decided to purchase my own 'Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation' after using a friends for a stage production a few months previous. I purchased mine from my local 'Superdrug' store but it is also available at most name brand beauty stores as well as online. I purchased mine for £7.69 which I thought was a good price for the amount of product you get, mine is in the shade Ivory 010.
I purchased the lightest shade available from my 'Superdrug' store at the time because I'm quite pale, however it is not the lightest shade they have. 'Maybelline' have 14 different shades in their collection, ranging from 'Porcelain Ivory', to 'Honey Beige' and the darkest shade available which is called 'Cocoa'.
I found 'Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation' is exactly what I am looking for in a foundation, it applies to the skin so well, it feels incredibly light weight and does not look chalky or dry. It does not make your skin look matt or dull but it covers all of my imperfections evenly and I only have to use a small amount of the product to get my desired effect. The foundation lasts all day and does not dry out my skin. It has quickly become my go-to foundation.
The only down side to the product I found is that the packaging is a little bit chunky, although the packaging looks sleek it is really quite big and bold meaning I had to re-evaluate the size of the make up bag I keep in my purse.
Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation' is excellent value for money purely because you need so little product to get your skin looking flawless which means it lasts such a long time compared to liquid foundation. The shade is a perfect match for my skin tone and gives me a flawless complexion. I will defiantly be repurchasing this product (when mine runs out of course, which does not look like it will be happening any time soon.)
I absolutely adore dream matte mousse and it is probably my favourite foundation out there. Very good coverage and you don't need I use much to cover either. It lasts a while on the skin too, and it's also a fairly good sized pot that it comes in so it lasts quite a while. Also, there are many different colours you can choose from to match your exact skin tone. However, if you do not use the right colour it looks quite silly, which is understandable.
I love the texture of the foundation as it is very soft and silky, not too runny, dry or lumpy, and it spreads on the skin with much ease. You can use brushes or pads, or simply just your finger to apply the foundation. I recommend using a brush as this makes it last longer and it evens it out. Overall, absolutely amazing foundation.
I only just got around to trying this product as I always thought it was such a small tub for the price. I found it for half price and decided to give it a try.
I am not regretting it! This product evens out my skin tone, hides redness and spots, most important of all does not cake in the dry areas or make them flake!
Also I just dab a little onto my big flat foundation brush then sweep it all over and get good coverage from just one or two swipes across the pot.
Does an good job of hiding under eye dark circles/bags too if you layer it on a little thicker or combine with a concealer.
It is very rich and thick, so I guess would not work as well on oily skin.
I looked at all of the shades and they have a good variety and non of them look orange, so I think there will be a good match for everyone. I got the palest as I prefer that look and am very pale, dark hair with a lot of red undertones in my hair and skin and the tanned look is terrible on me.
Your freckles and natural face features still show through this, just everything is a little more blended. So do not get if you want to cover up a scar or discolouration spots, it is more just a general evening of tone and brightens up the skin.
Why you'll love it / Innovative air-whipped formula provides perfecting coverage for 100% matte perfection / Blends effortlessly for a natural-looking, even result / Innovative technology that help prevent caking / Our widest ever shade range with 15 shades / Ideal for normal to oily skin / Wont clog pores, suitable for sensitive skin (fragrance-free, tested under dermatological control).
