      • "Good value"

NOT FOR OILY SKIN!!! *Hides "frying pan" face*

Dream Matte Mouse is a mousse like foundation that is said to be suitable for most skin types. I have combination to oily skin and I was sold on the "Matte" description of the mousse. The price of this foundation varies. I've seen it on sale for almost £10 and then I've seen it for sale in discount stores for around a fiver. I bought mine online via Amazon.co.uk as part of their subscribe and save promotion. I paid just under £5 for my jar.

I purchased "Ivory" as I have pale skin. The size of the jar is 18ml.

Using the mousse is an easy experience. I apply it over a thin layer of moisturiser and I use my fingers to apply it as I find it is much easier to apply that way. The light whipped consistency of the mousse makes it quite fun to apply. It's easy to rub the mousse into your skin and it blends well. It dries almost immediately and looks nice on the skin. I found that the "Ivory" shade was perfect for my pale skin tone. Overall it was a good start!

The mousse has good staying power, although my oily skin does shine through after a couple of hours. I then have to use blotting tissues to "mop up" the excess oil, so the "Matte" description didn't exactly work for me. The colour was perfect but unfortunately it didn't keep my skin matte at all. I would say by 1pm my skin was almost dripping with oil. This doesn't happen when I use my favourite Benefit foundation!

The foundation did stay put though, although it did cake a little where I had applied concealer over the top. It's just a shame that it didn't keep my skin shine free. I think this foundation would be better for normal skin types, definitely not recommended to people with oily/ combination skin like mine. Your oily skin will shine though, trust me!

Maybelline describe this foundation as a "revolutionary whipped formula, providing an air-soft, perfect matte finish coverage with a weightless feel. It is a breakthrough in technology with flexible, silicone polymers to help prevent caking."

Maybe it would work for you but this foundation isn't for me. I think I will stick to my trusted Benefit foundation from now on!

Current price: £5.74 on Amazon.co.uk as of 21/03/2015.

      Advantages

      • cheap

      Disadvantages

      • cakey.

      not my cup of tea.

when it comes to foundation from the highstreet I have pretty much tried them all!
I originally tried this as my friend was wearing it and she always looked lovley, but I soon learnt that this foundation wasn't for every skin type.

It claims to give a flawless coverage but I found the coverage to be un even and I wasnt even sre how to apply this product.

the shade range is good though as it does catour for light to dark skin tones although if you are very pale you won't find a good shade.
the texture is a nice soft and fluffy feel and it does feel nice when applied to the skin almost like velvet, and if you have pretty much flawless skin to start with then this product would probably work.
I have seen previous reviews saying this would be good for dryer skin altough in my opinion it did not look good on my dry skin!!
The price of this product normally retails for around 8 pound in most places which I think is a resonable price for a highstreet product.
If like me, you get the odd breakout then when you have the breakout I would recommend wearing as it looks cakey over the breakout.
This foundation is best suited for people who want a light coverage, and people who already have pretty good skin to start with.
I didnt find this product to last atall really on my skin, but it could just be my skin.
I am dissapointed as I know alot of people rave about this foundation but for me, it wasnt my cup of tea.

      Advantages

      • "little is enough"
      • "ideal for dry skin"

      Disadvantages

Must try for dry skin... Made my life easy and looks beautiful :)

I love to keep my self looking fresh and beautiful but because of dry skin it's always difficult for me to choose cosmetics products specially foundation which makes my skin patchy. Unfortunately, many products which claims to be made for dry skin doesn't work really well for me but Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation did the wonders for me. It comes up really nice and soft on my skin. I only need a very little amount of it so which is a huge plus and a little amount means it won't look very cakey. It makes my skin glow and radiant without making it dry. It never makes my skin look patchy and rough. It has a very nice fragrance which i didn't see in many dry/sensitive skin products. It has a large range of shades to choose. It has a very soft texture and easy to apply. It comes in a cute, small glass jar and looks like a cream which makes it extremely easy to keep in a small purse and i can easily fit it into my clutches.

It's normal price is £7.60 but you can always get it somewhere on half price or any other offers. Regarding the price i think it's really worth the price it is because it did what it says and after using many expensive products and been disappointed i am really happy to pay the price for this foundation as it gives me what i need. It's easy available in all major stores like boots, superdrug, sainsbury's, tesco, asda, morrisons and online as well.
All in all i had a great experience with this product for my dry skin and i will stick to it. Thanks maybelline :)

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Not completely sold - difficult to get even coverage

I decided I would try a new foundation when my regular brand ran out and decided to give this product a go as I had seen the TV advert and was really impressed (I'm an advertisers dream!). I purchased it for £9.99 which I thought was quite a reasonable price for a foundation although the pot is quite small.
Appearance-wise I really liked the packaging. It comes in a glass tub with a plastic screw on lid. As the product is smalland the lid screws on really securely, I felt much better about carrying it in my handbag with me than I normally do with liquid foundations. Practically however I found the packaging has two quite big flaws for me: firstly, hygiene. The best way to get the product out of the tub is with your fingers and I worry about the effect this has on the rest of the foundation in the tub and also on my face. I can imagine it would exacerbate problems for people with oily, spot prone skin. Also, it is quite difficult to get all the product out because of the shape of the package. This was a little frustrating as you feel like you've wasted half the money on product you can't get at!
Foundation-wise I would say it was nothing special for me. Although the mousse is quite easy to apply, it was difficult for me to get the right amount of coverage. The mousse is very thick and cakey so although it rubbed onto the skin nicely it was difficult to get an even coverage.
I wasn't completely sold on this product but have kept it in my handbag for touch ups mainly because it has such secure packaging.

        Application Tip

Focus on perfecting the tone and coverage down the center of your face first. Use just a small amount of makeup and blend it in thoroughly. You can then layer more if necessary to achieve the coverage you want.

This foundation to be in a really small pot which is difficult to access. I find it really hard to get the product out of the small tub with my fingers. I also think this is an unhygienic way of applying foundation. The constantly feels smooth and creamy but after a few hours of wear this foundation becomes Cakey and dries my skin out. This foundation isn't great for skin which is easily spot prone. This tends to make my skin worse when I wear it. I no longer wear this foundation as it doesn't do much for me

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Basic foundation but not good on combination skin.

I have always struggled with foundation, as someone with spot prone skin I find that I have a really hard time finding a foundation that does not make my spots worse or because my skin is also combination, slide off my face almost as fast as I apply it. A friend suggested this moose a while ago and although I did keep looking at it I kept putting it back on the shelf because of the idea of moose! I eventually crumbled and bought it last year.

        The product ....

The product is a foundation that is actually a light fluffy mousse. The idea is that it is light and glides on the skin smoothly but is light enough that it allows the skin to breath.

        The Packing ....

The product comes in a small glass container with a twist plastic lid.

        To Use ....

I found that this product applied best with my fingers as opposed to my foundation brush, when I applied it with my brush it went on too heavy and I was not able to get my blending right. With fingers it was really simple, just scoop a small amount out and gently blend onto my skin and it did go on really nicely.

        My Opinion ....

Sadly although this foundation went on easily enough, I found the coverage was poor, it caused awful spots and it walked off my face in about 2 hours even with a base and setting powder. I think for someone with good skin that just needs a light coverage this might be a decent foundation though.

        Cost ....

This is currently £7.69 for a pot but I paid £4.99 for mine in a local store which was good value I feel fora foundation.

        Summary ....

A light foundation but not suitable for all skin types, it advertised that it would not cause spots but did make mine worse and slipped off my face fast. I would only suggest this for people with dry skin who do not suffer from spots.

        Advantages

        • "Can be found anywhere"
        • "Easy to Apply"

        Disadvantages

        • "Slightly bulky packaging"

        Love it!

I have recently been obsessed with foundations and have been trying more and more in the last couple of months. This was one that I have been looking at for a while and finally decided to give it a go.

The first thing I love is the packaging. The jar it comes in, makes it look more expensive than it is. This may be chunkier than other similar products, but this is just due to it having more product inside.

The idea is that this is a mousse foundation that has a very matte finish. This has been out for years and there have been varying opinions of it over this time. The first thing I noticed about this foundation is that it is a little dense.

I have tried a number of mousse type foundations and most of these feel lighter during application. My biggest fear was that this product may appear cakey (due to the dense feeling) on the skin. I did not need to worry. This product is very blendable. As this is a probably a medium finish to start with, you may wish to build it up and this definitely possible here. This is best applied with a beauty blender type product.

Does it last my 13 hour days?

As much as I would expect, yes. It does disappear a little from my nose, but it otherwise it wears quite evenly. I am very impressed.

        The Price?

This cost me £9.99 from Superdrug, but you can find this cheaper on amazon and if you wait for a deal it can be even cheaper. I feel this is definitely worth the price.

        A Note

The shade range with all Maybelline foundation is a little off. I am normally an ivory with other brands (this runs this tiniest bit light normally), but with Maybelline I am normally porcelain and they are slightly to dark for me.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

this foundation isnt for everyone but if it works for you it'll give a flawless finish

I first started using this product as one of my first foundations this was about 4 years ago and I was young so my skin was normal type with no acne or anything so it used to glide on and give my skin a flawless look. After remembering how good it was back then I went out and bought it again but since i used dove soap on my face to remove my makeup my skin is really dry so it cakes on my face and even though I use the lightest color porcelain it still comes up as orange on my face.

        Pros-

        - good value for money for normal skin it is an amazing foundation
        - sold in most stores
        - flawless, matte finish for normal skin type

        cons-

        - sells out quickly
        - bad for any other skin type than normal
        - slides off my face after ive put moisturizer on even if i let it dry
        - orangey look
        - un hygenic packaging

        conclusion-
I think this is great value for money and for a first foundation but other skin types like me would struggle to use this foundation as I prefer liquid as its easier to work with.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Handy to use when in a rush

When this first came out it was all I used however as I got older I moved onto other brands. I decided to re purchase this and give it another try after a good few years break. The whipped texture of the foundation is lovely it feels silky to touch. I tried to apply this with a foundation brush however ended up finding it easier to apply using my fingers. I found it was hard to judge how much I was applying and the pot did not seem to last as long as I would have liked. The coverage provided was acceptable however it did not seem to stay on my face all day but I think that's my skin type. I found the pot was useful to get the product out quickly on the mornings I was in a rush and also meant that there was no wastage as you can get every last scrap of product out. This is not my favourite foundation but is defiantly not the worst I have used. I am probably not going to re purchase.

Dream matte mouse may provide some coverage but leaves a patchy after effect

I first saw dram matte mousse foundation on tv, I remember going into college and seeing some girls in class useing and talking about how good it was so I thought why not try it out. I payed 5.99 for it at superdrug which I feel is good price for a drugstore foundation. The next day I used the foundation and the coverage was good , my spots and blemishes were all covered which was great. I used this foundation for a few days before I noticed my face was becoming ghostly and patchy. At first I thought this was because I didn't use a primer underneath my makeup. However my friends who also purchased the matte mousse makeup with primer also mention that they hade the same effects on their faces. Even thought this foundation did provide me with some coverage it didn't make my skin look flawless and I would never buy this again.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

All in all it's a nice foundation, just be wary if you have sensitive skin!

I'm not sure if it was the cleanser I was pairing it with or perhaps the method I was using, most likely due to my sensitive skin, but this broke me out quite badly on the cheek area. However, this might not be the case with other people - It creates a gorgeous, flawless finish that appears matte (hence the name) and smooth (again, ha). It does live up to it's name, but it would be so much nicer if it didn't break me out; it's quite sad but apart from that it blends beautifully, given the right primer, moisturizer etc, and it's what I used when I was going out to an event, party etc because of the full coverage and lasting power. I have combination skin so maybe it's suited to other kinds and I'm sure it would work wonders for others. It's just a shame it broke me out!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Good foundation just wish it didn't dry my poor skin out as much

I used this product in school because everyone used it as being a teenage girl the more makeup the better but now I'm slightly older, I do keep returning to this product from time to time. I think the price is reasonable although I think it has increased since I first bought it. The biggest problem I have with this foundation is that it really doesn't help my skin. I have combination skin but this foundation completely dries my skin out. It's fantastic for when I have spots as it has the same effect but I'm outdoors a lot and the wind is bad enough without my makeup giving me dry skin. Although it does make up for it as it has a range of shades, it's easy to apply and it gives full coverage as well as being easy to blend into difficult areas. I know a lot of people have said it's too cakey but in my opinion it's only too cakey when too much has been applied. All round I like this foundation it just makes me moisturize a fair bit more.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

It is a great top coat to a foundation instead off using a powder. Has a high cost though!

I used this product when I went too school because it is what my friends used but I found that it made my skin look dry during the day and too get a decent coverage you had too use a lot off the product and without a income this became very expensive! I changed the foundation in which I used too a different one within the same brand (maybelline) but as I got older I decided to give it another go and now use it as a top coat to my foundation because I find it has a better matte finish than using a powdered product it also gives the skin the most amazing soft feeling and is not greasy like a lot off foundation products!

I am undecided on this product because I do not like it on its own but I find it amazing as a top coat and would highly recommend it to anyone that doesn't like powder.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          3 out of 5 stars

I remember having this foundation a few years back now . As i remember i loved this product for a very long time and then i changed to a loreal foundation as i found liquid was better for my skin. The maybelline dream matte foundation is very thick and i think i changed to liquid because it made my skin look cakey. If you put a small layer on your face for the whole day and don't touch up at all, then it won't look like you have a mud mask on. If your like me and touch up your foundation throughout the day then i wouldn't recommend this foundation. I have pale skin, i tried a few of the shades sand, beige, cameo, ivory, and they were all too dark for me. I looked like an orange, especially looking back at old photos when i wore this foundation...embrassing moments. I couldn't find the right shade to match my skin tone. In loreal and rimmel foundations i al always go for ivory shade and it matches fine. I do like the packaging a lot and i like the idea of it being a cream mousse but just wish would match my skin tone and didn't look so cakey. It does last a long time and its nice you can see how much your using and when you run out to get more. With liquid bottles i can never tell if i am running out. Also its in a pot so doesn't get messy and the lid is securely tight when in your hand bag so doesn't make a mess. I would like to try this foundation again , hoping i find a perfect shade match.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

brilliant foundation overall. I would love it more if it was cheaper!

I first bought this foundation as I was recommended it by as a friend as the best foundation they had ever used. When I saw it the first thing I noticed was how little you get for a quite expensive price at around £7.50. Although it was quite expensive I still decide to buy it as I needed a new foundation.
When I first tried it out I was very impressed! I found it much better than my old foundation and that it worked just as good as my camo make up and that is brilliant. It covers pimples really well and makes them almost unnoticeable which is a huge bonus for me. I have been using it for a few months now and I have fallen in love with it.

A thing I love about it is how soft my skin feels when I apply it. It is so smooth and doesn't make my skin feel greasy unlike some foundations I have used in the past.

I particularly like this foundation due to the large range of shades and tones it is available in. I have a very light skin tone and I cannot always find a foundation that would match my skin and not make me look orange, but this one has a few shades that were light enough for me to choose from. There are also plenty of other shades from so I'm sure there is the perfect match for most people.

A disadvantage this foundation is that the price of it is quite high for the amount you get per tub. This is very disappointing that I have to spend more than I used to although I do prefer this foundation much more than ones I have used in the past so I do admit, it is worth it.

I would recommend this foundation because I have tried lots of foundations trying to find the right one for me and this is the one that has made my skin feel the softest and the least greasy and has covered pimples the best.

Overall it is a brilliant foundation and I can't imagine myself using anything else after using it because I have enjoyed using it so much.

            i hope this was helpful.
