Advantages: easy to use, cheap, clean
Disadvantages: not long lasting, doesn't provide cover for stubborn blemishes
I've been using this foundation ever since it was first released, and while I have occasionally tried alternative brands, I always return to dream matt mousse.
The product comes in a circular glass pot, and is basically a mousse that you apply to your skin. Personally I've found the best way to apply this product is with your fingers, as you can get a very even finish this way, and unlike a lot of liquid foundations, it doesn't make a mess. The end result is similar to a powder, but nowhere near as flakey. I also find the mousse easier to achieve an even seamless finish with.
The product comes in a variety of different shades, I personally use the nude tone, as my skin is pretty pale naturally, and I don't want to look as though I'm wearing a tonne of make-up on my face. However, because the shades get darker in very small steps, it is easy to find a shade that will blend seamlessly into your skin, something I have struggled with with different brands.
Another advantage with this product is that you never need to waste any. Unlike liquid foundations, where you squeeze some out, and have to wash it away if its not used, the dream matt mousse can be scooped out in small quantities, and any remaining can, if you wish, be replaced to the pot. The only thing I would recommend is that you ensure that you put the lid on the product tightly, as otherwise it dries out quickly.
The product is one of the cheaper foundations on the market, at around £6.99, although often on offer at £5, and in my opinion it rivals Max Factor's foundation products, that are often £12-13. I also find that one pot lasts me around 6 months, using it every day, but I don't put much on my face at a time.
The only disadvantage with this foundation is that because its quite light, in fact you can't feel that you're wearing it, it doesn't cover more stubborn blemishes as effectively. This however, can usually be corrected by applying concealer before foundation. It also doesn't last as long as some other products, and after 6 hours, you may need to redo.
Overall, I love the complete maybelline mousse range, and it would take a remarkable product to get me to switch.
Summary: a great product from maybelline
