Didn't work for my dry skin type (Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation)

Advantages: Lovely texture, glides right on

Disadvantages: Looks fake and unnatural, drys my skin out terribly

I really wish I could love this foundation but it just isn't right for me. I bought it after reading loads of good reviews for it in magazines and online, and even my mother raved about it and she had switched to it from a much more expensive brand.

I was so excited when I picked some up from the chemist shop and brought it home to experiment. I loved the texture when I put it on as it simply glides on and feels so light.

At first I liked the way it looked which is almost an air-brushed perfection to your skin. However, then I left the slightly dim light of my bathroom and held up a mirror to the window to get some natural light which is how I check the look of my foundation. In daylight, it looked like I was wearing a mask and not very natural at all.

I rubbed it in a bit better and, though it still looked a little mask-y, I stuck with it for the rest of the day. As the hours went by it got made my skin dryer and dryer and started looking even worse. It also seemed to take on a bit of a gray tinge.

I ended up binning it, and after a little more research went out and got the Dream Satin Liquid, also from Maybelline, which I love.

Summary: Terrible if you have very dry skin or want a natural look - get the dream satin liquid instead!
