Advantages: Smooth, skin soft and matte finish

Disadvantages: Pants powder puff prevents persistant use

Feeling like I needed some new skin make up and feeling obligated to take part in Boots 3 for 2 offer I went to buy a new foundation and powder. I need a change of products at this time of year, once our miserly amounts of sun are past rather than present.
Having spent some time traipsing round and comparing various prices and products I came back to Maybelline.
The Dream Matte Powder is a power in a flesh coloured compact with a clear window to se the product inside bestickered with labels which tell you the product name and the shade. Then, in a separate swivel base there's a handy mirror, allowing you to apply your powder in a mirror which isn't tainted by powder and fingerprints.

Using the tester pot on the display stand I found the nearest shade to my skin tone and rubbed it across the back of my hand.
The product feels very light and smooth light. The powder disappeared into my skin, showing a fabulous colour match capability and nit seemed to give an even and matte finish without the tango look. Impressed, I bought it.

The next day I used the powder over the top of the mousse foundation. The foundation already felt like I'd just had a fantastic salon treatment, it was soft and smooth and by now evenly toned and balanced due to the colour of the mousse.
Adding the powder over the top only emphasised the soft feel and added even further even tone coverage and the fantastic matte finish I was looking for and found on the advertising photos of the Maybelline product line.

Later than day, when telling a friend about my new purchase I was pleased when she commented that she thought I had no foundation on but that I looked very well and my make up looked nice.
When checking in the mirror later I found my make up still intact despite my oily skin and large pores, it still looked matte and still gave great coverage, despite 6 hours of wear and tear.

You may like to follow the recommendation given on the website:
"This fantastic handy compact gives a perfect-looking complexion and reduces the appearance of shine. It's a handbag must-have thanks to the luxurious suede-touch puff and the swing-out mirror, great for easy application on the go!" Fiona Jolly, Maybelline New York's Celebrity Make-Up Artist.

However, I've found the suede touch puff to be easily torn and quickly useless with regular use. I had to buy a generic puff to use the rest of my last compact and it's too thick to close the lid on, which is a pain.

I paid £6.99 for the compact but it features on 3 for 2 offers and reductions now and then.
There are 5 shades to choose from, though I only found 3 in my local store, though the selection was fine for me.

I'm amazed to say this product does exactly what it promises, matte skin and great coverage all day.

Summary: Great powder, rubbish applicator
