Advantages: Cheap, Perfect colour matches, feels light, good coverage.

Disadvantages: Doesn't work as well over certain foundations (mousse).

I was looking to buy a new powder and I didn't want to spend £11.00 on my usual No7 one because I'm trying to save money. I picked up Maybelline's Dream Matter Powder for somewhere around £7.00 from Boots.

*Packaging*
This isn't the prettiest packaging I've seen with the gold and clear plastic, but it does the job very well. Under the powder there is a twist-out compartment which contains a powder puff and a mirror. I like this because it saves space in my makeup bag because I don't have to carry around a mirror and powder puff with me.

*Application*
Applying this product is very easy and feels nice. The powder puff is very soft (made from suede?) This product can also be applied with a brush and the results will be exactly the same. I like the feel when I'm applying the powder because it feels soft and light.

*The Results*
After applying this I am left with matte, flawless skin. I find that the shade you buy will look exactly the same shade on your face, so you don't need to buy a few shades lighter because it doesn't seem to oxidize. When I'm wearing this, my imperfections seem reduced.

*Conclusion*
I think this is worth a buy if you are strapped for cash and can't afford a more expensive powder foundation. I am going to start using this regularly. This powder is suitable for anyone- it can be worn alone to cover pimples, scars, dark circles etc. or it can be worn over foundation to set and mattify. For a powder, the coverage is excellent. I have used this product previously over Dream Matte Mousse foundation and I didn't like the results then- It made me have orange blotches, but with a liquid foundation and not a mousse, it's fine to use. It might work over mousse for you, but for my skin type it didn't.

Summary: This is a great lower priced foundation that does the job perfectly.

Ooh wait for the £5 off No7 vouchers from Boots, I don't pay for anything full priced... I just lay in waiting, lol! :o)
