Advantages: Affordable, compact, long lasting, good colour! What more is there?!

Disadvantages: None

Of all the affordable make up chains, I have always rated Maybelline very highly. In fact most of my make up bag is made up of their various products. However Maybelline Dream Blush was one that I hadn't tried before, tending to use the powder form instead.

As others have already said, pale skin is not always a great look and self tanning does not always solve this dilemma, particulary in the bleak cold winter, when turning orange is just a no no!
I gave this a go for three reasons.

Firstly because it was a maybelline product.

Secondly because Boots had an offer on maybelline products (3 for 2)

Thirdly, I fancied trying a mousse rather than traditional powder which always seemed to disappear within a couple of hours, leaving me rather pasty again.

The product itself came in a gorgeous little pink jar, a perfect size to put in even the smallest of handbags. These pots hold 7ml though I have already been using it every day for a month, but yet it has barely dented the smooth surface.

It comes in various different shades such as plum, mauve, dolly pink etc. I opted for the mauve,

Inside the mousse looks good enough to eat and the great thing about this product is that you don't need very much of it to get the shade you want either. It only takes a little dab of the mousse to get a a warm glowing (and natural looking) sheen. It has a lovely soft texture and blends so easily, allowing you have it as light or dark as you prefer. Yet it isn't greasy. It doesn't take much to make my skin break out, but this did not leave it feeling oily at all.

What impressed me most, was how long it lasted. I was still coming away from work with a nice sheen on my cheeks, rather than having a ghostly white complexion. This alone would make me buy it again, compared with the powder.

I think the price of £5.99 is quite reasonable because of the tiny amount that is needed to give your cheeks a glow, and thus I would hope that this pot for last me quite a few months yet.

All in all, after trying this product, I wouldn't dream of going back to a powder blusher. Its travel friendly (no blusher brush required - just your finger), compact, non greasy, and most importantly for me - long lasting! I would highly recommend this blush.

Summary: Another great product from Maybelline!
