Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush
Advantages: jar, quality, strong and long lasting colour
Maybelline is a beauty company offer a wide range of make up products.
The Dream Mousse range includes a foundation, concealer, bronzer, eye colour and a blush in various shades. This review discusses the Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush.
This product is a blusher in mousse form. It is designed to glide onto the skin and doesn't clog pores. The result should be a radiant finish to your cheeks. The shade range is dependant on where you buy from. The collection does offer pinks, mauves, red/corals and brown shades.
The blush is dermatologically tested.
The blush is presented in a small, round glass jar with a screw top lid. The lids are coloured according to shade chosen.
Dream Mousse Blush isn't readily available on the high street but can be purchased online from the following outlets :
*www.amazon.co.uk - from £2.99
*www.thecosmetichouse.co.uk - £3.25
*www.saveonmakeup.co.uk - £2.69
I'm surprised to learn this product is so hard to find now. I purchased 04 Mauve last year from Boots or Superdrug (cannot quite remember which). I don't use it often as I prefer loose powder blush but it is a good product and one which I can recommend if you can find it! The shade range isn't brilliant given availability.
The jar is sturdy and the lid is secured well to avoid leakages. This blush can be applied by dipping a cosmetic brush into the jar or using your fingers. The Mauve shade is quite strong and has a dusky pink colouring to it. I like my blush to be noticeable but not over the top and this looked like the ideal colour for my skin tone.
Despite previously trying the foundation in mousse form and it not being great for my dry skin, I wasn't put off using the blush. I had reasoned that I was only applying it to a small area of my face (and not the driest area) so it would be fine. The mousse inside the jar looks rich and heavy though this is deceiving. I use my fingers to apply this and normally over the top of face powder. It is strong enough in terms of colour to be applied underneath but doesn't disturb my powder when I apply it over the top.
Dipping my finger into the jar, the mousse feels cool and a little damp. It is very light and creamy in texture and easy to use. The mousse literally melts into my skin as I sweep my finger across my cheeks. The mousse blends exceptionally well and is really light and smooth on my skin. It doesn't drag and doesn't feel like it is blocking my skin, My skin is soft and smooth after applying this mousse. There is no strong scent from the mousse.
Mauve transfers from my finger to skin effortlessly and is highly pigmented. The dusky pink is just as strong as in the jar and really brightens up my skin. It gives my skin a healthy, tinted and dewy appearance. The colouring highlights my cheeks perfectly and doesn't go patchy or disappear during the day. There is a slight shimmer within the colour which catches the light perfectly.
I am pleased with how long the colouring remains noticeable. I can get around 8hours wear without the colour fading. Any remaining colour on my cheeks is easily removed with a cleanser or facial wipe.
I like to use this mousse blush when I want a strong, noticeable colouring to my cheeks which lasts for ages. I do find that with the shimmer, it is better for going out wearing rather than day to day wear. The label has fell off my jar so I cannot confirm the amount inside but it lasts very well as a small blob spreads a long way. The mousse doesn't dry out from opening and closing the jar.
Overall I can recommend Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush if you don't mind purchasing it online!
