Advantages: Easy to apply, lasts well, creates a lovely natural glow.
Disadvantages: None
I adore Maybelline products - in fact I think I could now open my own shop entirely devoted to Maybelline makeup, since I have accumulated so many of their products into my makeup collection. I particulary love their dream mousse products such as the blush and eye shadow, and now add this dream mousse bronzer to the growing list of maybelline favourites.
Like most of the other dream mousse maybelline products, this bronzer comes in a glass jar (18ml) and can easily be put in your handbag. The lid of the jar represents the colour of the bronzer, of which there are 3 (well that I am aware of): bronze, gold and copper. I opted for the former of these: the bronze. Like most of the maybelline makeup that I purchase, I bought this in Boots, costing just over £6.
This 'sun kissed' bronzing mousse, as it is referred to on the lid, is air whipped, giving it an obvious light and fluffy texture, and making it very easy to apply. Maybelline also claims that the air whipped nature of this products 'allows you to build up as much colour as you like' which I can verify to be true.
The bronzer itself is applied using your fingertips, although if you are out, make sure you have hand wipes because it can get a little messy. The bronzer can be put on cheeks, eyelids, chin, forehead, neck or chest, particularly places where the 'sun naturally catches you skin' according to Maybelline. In fact, I use this bronzer most often on my neck and chest area to give it a sun kissed natural glow, since I already use bronzing pearls on my face. However, any time that I have applied it to my face, it has worked just as well, and has never caused me any irritation even though I have quite sensitive skin.
The bronzer has a distinctive shimmer to it when you put it on, so it may be more suitable for a night out, than a day at the office, particularly if you are putting the bronzer on your face.
I have had this bronzer for a few months now, and I have hardly dented the amount at all. Although, I have to say, that I will probably be using it more now coming into spring/summer than in the winter, covered up in polo necks or scarves, and maybe I'll see a marked difference in the amount that the jar goes down. I have found however, that most of the other dream mousse make up that I have, lasts quite a while, because you don't need much of the product to create bronzed look.
Overall, this is another of my maybelline make up favourites, and I find that when I put it on in the morning, it is still noticeable when I am coming home, making it a good purchase. It is very easy to apply and I love the texture of the mousse. It really does give my skin a natural looking glow and is great when you are in a hurry and want to help give pale skin a healthier look, without all the bother of applying fake tan.
Summary: Another great dream mousse product from Maybelline!
