Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer
Advantages: Amazing coverage, lightweight, you only need the tiniest bit, easy to apply!
Disadvantages: Flakes up on dry skin.
At first, I was very nervous about buying this concealer as it cost me about £6 and the most I've ever bought a concealer for is about £3. I don't usually buy makeup products for more than £5 but I was willing to give this a try as I really liked the Dream Matte Mousse foundation of my mum's.
First, when I picked up the pot in the store I was very shocked about how small it was. I use a lot of concealer throughout the day - it looked like this concealer would last me about 3 days!
I've only ever used a stick concealer, I've never ever tried out a concealer in a pot. I used a bit for under my eyes and dabbed it in with my finger and realised that I only needed the tiniest bit for under each eye! Same with the spots, I found that I overloaded concealer onto it and had to wipe a bit off. I was amazed at how soft and creamy the concealer was as I applied it, too. I thought it would be a lot harder to apply. It blends in very well using brush or finger.
After I applied the concealer I was very very VERY shocked and amazed to see - NOTHING! I couldn't see my spots, I thought they had vanished from my face for a minute! The concealer gives AMAZING coverage.
-How To Get The Most Out Of This Product-
I usually apply concealers over a foundation or a moisturiser. But if I want a flawless face I would mix a foundation and a moisturiser on the back of my hand and put that on my face and then apply a yellow based concealer to my blemishes (miss out under the eyes, they only need one concealer). Then I would dab on the Maybelline concealer to my blemishes (you only need the tiniest bit, trust me) and blend it in, then do under my eyes. Then I'd apply either a translucent powder or a normal pressed powder (mine are the Collection2000 pressed powder or Natural Collection pressed powder), and that's done!
In my opinion, this is the best concealer out there for a very reasonable price! It stays on through the day and night and my spots and dark circles and still invisible when I'm about to go to bed. It is not cakey or too thick and is very light weight.
I would definitely recommend this product to a friend and also to people who are very prone to spots and blemishes!
This is the go-to concealer for me if I'm having a bad skin day or I've got a huge spot that needs covering!
The only thing I'm going to say that's bad about this concealer, is that if you've got dry skin you might want to steer clear of this product as it will flake up throughout the day.
Summary: This is my new holy grail concealer.
