Advantages: Corrects ueven skin tones, has decent staying power, feels and looks quite natural.

Disadvantages: Doesn't hide blemishes very well.

The only make-up brand I'll go near when it comes to foundation is Maybelline, I personally just find that they do it best so, when I saw a new Maybelline foundation product I didn't hesitate to buy it.

I bought this from Asda when it first came out a few months ago for the introductory price of £5.49. I've also seen it in Tesco, Boots and Superdrug for around £8.99 for the 50ml bottle. The foundation is available in eight shades: ivory, cameo, nude, light beige, sun beige, fawn, caramel and sand. Usually I purchase the ivory shade in Maybelline foundation although I did find myself going a shade darker with this particular product and purchased the cameo shade instead as it seemed to match my skin tone better. With this in mind, I would suggest trying out the testers in this before purchasing, even if you're a regular Maybelline user.

The foundation is presented in a light beige coloured tin with spray dispenser and clear plastic lid. It's a good idea to ensure the lid remains on the bottle at all times when you're not using this foundation as it's very easily accidentally sprayed everywhere in your make-up bag! On the back of the bottle are directions for use which, as silly as it may sound, do come in quite useful the first time you use this product. I'd certainly never had any experience with a foam foundation before! The directions are simple to follow. You simply shake the tin before use, dispense a walnut sized amount of product onto the back of your hand, take small dabs of product and apply to the face one section at a time blending with circular motions.

The foundation does actually dispense like a beige coloured foam, it's very unusual at first. You do only need to press the dispenser very lightly to release the required amount of foundation as you do really only need a bit. Once you've gotten used to the alien feeling of applying a foam foundation to your face it really is quite quick and simple to use.

In terms of coverage, I probably wouldn't recommend this product if you're prone to particularly bad spot outbreaks as it doesn't really cover spots all that well. If, like me, you're fortunate enough to only get the occasional one or two pop up, a decent concealer underneath this foundation will be fine. This foundation is extremely good at correcting uneven skin tones though. My cheeks and chin seem to be constantly bright red so this was great news for me! The foundation gives an even coverage without it looking obvious you're wearing make-up. It's great for creating that 'natural' look. Not only does this foundation not look obvious but it doesn't feel it either. It's really light and airy so your skin can still breathe. Who wants to feel or look like they've got a ton on concrete mix setting on their face? Because this foundation isn't particularly shiny I don't find it necessary to apply a power over the top either. I've also found it to be very long lasting. I put a little of this on the morning and it's still hiding those red patches on my face when I go to remove it before bed.

All in all, another great foundation from Maybelline for me! If uneven skin tone is your main concern then this is a definite winner although you'd perhaps be better off with something else if you're prone to quite a few spots. It's a very unique product that looks and feels natural and has a fair bit of staying power.

Summary: A great foundation if uneven skin tone is your main concern.
